Possible on the last drive but our offense scoring 0 in the second half is why we lost that game
If he is proactive at adjusting in game, then yes.
Yes. We had a lead late at both NC St and UF. Stoops didn't make any adjustments and both teams dominated us in second half.
They ran a Pick game the entire second half. well also didnt blitz at all if i remember correctly. I think pruitt will be much more aggressive with our D if he styles it after sabans.
Blitzing would have been a bad move against NC State, They were getting the ball out too quick. We were getting heat without blitzing, but they were running short crossing routes and getting rid of the ball.
They were running pick routes. Jamming their WRs and blitzing would have made a lot of difference.
Now we can put in shanks against that FU 6 and 7 OL he could take up atleast 2 OL men
Playing an inverted cover 2 and having the safeties pinch down hard in the middle would have helped more. You blitz that and jam the receivers, if one of those guys slips the jam and gets a step across the middle, it's a touchdown.
how could you know? go watch some hoover hs football?
somebody send this guy the two a days dvd set

Because we dont have safeties on the field? Letting Glennon pick us apart from inside the pocket because we couldnt put pressure on him was a bad idea.
Why does everyone forget how that game went? We did pressure him. We got a lot of heat on him. There was a reason they were doing what they were doing, because they couldn't protect him for other things.
What game were you watching?? We weren't getting in pressure on Glennon in that 2nd half, Stoops needed to make some kind of adjustments and he didn't. He played two deep safety the entire 2nd half.
I didnt forget anything. The second half of the game we didnt get much pressure on Glennon. Especially on that final drive. He stood back and fired away. Disrupting the routes and putting pressure on Glennon would have made a hell of a difference.
agreed, not understanding his comment about us getting pressure on Glennon...
True. I suppose people will have to wait until the game replays, because we were playing tight coverage and getting to him quickly. They were throwing to guys covered on crosses by LBs.
Not sure how you press running backs or TEs that are in motion.
It's very sexy to blame the offense for that loss, but there was a complete and total breakdown in all three phases that day.
The offense was shit (i just noticed this typo, but you know what, it's a more accurate description of the O in the second half, so I'm leaving it) down completely in the second half when Thompson got too tired and Jimbo neglected to sub in enough. EJ also missed a few open touchdowns down the field and the easiest 30 yard screen play ever called.
The Special Teams allowed a punt block and might have fumbled on one) not certain on the fumble?).
And the defensive staff not only chose not to adjust a bit, but also did not sub at the D end or cornerback position for the first three quarters. Which left our All American Ends utterly useless in the fourth quarter.
Entire team break down. But it is the reason I wasn't especially sorry to see Stoops go even though I credit him with returning us to being a strong defense. Sure we got better under his watch, but that game, the UF game and the Oklahoma game his first year show that if you come up with a smart strategy, or simply have him outmanned at a certain position, then you'll be successful the entire 60 minutes.

i just checked the drive. 3 plays went to the TE or RB on the 13 play game winning drive.
NCAA College Football Drivechart
Awww how cute. What about Gus Malzahn dominating the SEC straight out of high school. Arkansas offense carried that team with a FRESHMEN qb. Gtfo here
I'll go with maybe.
Our Defense wasn't bad that game....
True, but there were only 2 completed passes to WR that drive. Also, defense forced 4th down 3 or 4 times after a blocked punt.
10 of 19 successful plays were to backs or TEs in the fourth quarter in the quick snap hurry up.
They made adjustments to what Stoops was throwing at them at half time and when it came down to it stoops couldnt adjust. Glennon didnt play well against pressure all year. If we had put a little more on him we could have forced some mistakes like you saw when he played tenn and vandy.
Its just opinions and we cant change the way it went down ( no matter how much it still pisses me off) The main things that im looking for from pruitt are disguised blitzes and the ability to adjust to whats thrown at him.
