It wouldn't have been any of the players that our so called fan base felt that our coaches didn't try to get. We signed 4 good OL imho... Judge them in two years then come back and tell me what you think...
Newberry said on twitter two weeks ago that he has not spoken to the coaches of moving to OT and he did not sound too happy about the implication so while I think it is whats best for the team and the kid, if he doesn't want to do it, it ain't worth it and won't happen. I think that ship may have sailed already, the ideal time to make the switch would have been last spring.
Funny that Hart and Benjamin are mentioned in this post... KB just turned 22 yesterday and Hart wont be 19 until August and they are in the same recruiting class
If the coaches really thought that age is what is holding Hart back why not redshirt him?
They should of and if you got them to give their honest assessment I bet they would agree. Our failures in recruiting OL (and I'm not one of those that harp on this all time, but it is what it is) combined with the absurdly high injury rate we had in 2011 forced us to play him. RedShirting him in 2012 would of been seen by him as punishment, which could of had a hugely negative impact on his development as well as potentially causing him to transfer. The bottom line is he is a very talented kid who has understandably fallen slightly behind his class because of age but at this point he must mature both mentally and physically this off season for both his own and the teams good. I think/hope he will.
Geez, people assume that Hart has the work ethic and drive to improve. He doesn't.
Yes, he's older now. That doesn't make him better by default. The kid actually has to work for it and that is what's missing here.
Scalp 'Em Seminoles!!!
So your work ethic didn't change at all from the age of 16 to 19? Mine did.
I've never heard that he had bad work ethic, when did this happen?
