FSU commitment would like to hear from the Aggies.

35 Commits and counting, don't know much about recruiting but TA&M would be insane to court more kids.
He would be the 10th WR in this class. Quite frankly that is about as many as you should carry on your roster. Most NFL teams only carry 5.
Stevens getting in his ear. he isn't going to A&M and he will be happy he didn't when they are 8-4 next year and still an afterthought in their home state.
they need more WRs!
"I never knew I had a foot until I noticed it was on your neck"
What is the "limit" on the number of recruits you can bring in? 35 is a lot and they are looking to bring in more.
A&M is the flavor of the month. He isn't going there. Stevens is going to do everything to get him whitfield geeked up on A&M just out of spite. We yanked his scholarship-a bit humiliating when you were trying to do the mexican hat dance with an FSU hat on the table. i am glad we cut Stevens loose but I suspect he would have signed with us if we were willing to contiue to put up with his antics.
as to limit, even if they have 5 early enrollees then they are still 5 over right now. so a ton of grayshirts, a lot of pulling people offers or in all probability numerous non qualifiers. That is why classes with huge numbers ofterntimes need to taken with a grain of salt. you really need to see who gets into school before you can properly assess the class. This 35 number is embarrassing for the SEC.
A&M also knows this is probably a 1 year window with UT. They still cannot compete with Ut-even this year. They have only won 1 head to head battle against ut and it could be argued Ut broke ties with the recruit. . however, This is a year when UT doesn't have that many slots so A&M can try to load up because when UT does have more room A&M will be fighting TCU and Baylor for recruits like it always does and like it has for the majority of its class this year. What A&m has done well this year is fill a void that is typically OU's niche in Texas because OU is not doing well in texas this year. That process was underway well before the seaon.
They did that at points int he '80s and '90s but it was not sustainable when ou cycled back up. The same thing will probably happen again when Ou cycles back up on the recruiting trail.

Since they are losing most of their OL, people are going to wonder why people thought TAMU was so great next year. In the SEC, (and elsewhere), you are only as good as your trenches.
Maybe he can play OL for them. LOL
Manziel is going to be running for his life next year.
They still bring back Matthews and the stud left guard
Do you really think UT is going to be back next year? You are crazy they are a sinking ship and until Mack is gone they will be a joke in Texas. The Aggs are the flavor of the month and that probably won't end for a while. As long as Johnny and Sumlin are there they will be the IT team in Texas.
TNoles wasn't saying UT would be back on the field next year specifically, he was referring to them being back in recruiting. They are so overloaded currently they have a very small number to recruit this year.
Grasping at straws much.. A&M has never in their history had to compete with Baylor or TCU for recruits. Historically OU, Texas have been competition within the state of Texas and to a lesser extent LSU, Nebraska, and Arkansas as they do what they can in Texas during years that they maintain a bit of national success. As far as competing with UT this year, A&Ms class ranks several spots higher than UT so if only judging by 247s rankings im not sure how you have come to the conclusion you did. Other pay sites have A&M higher as well. Head to head battles? Brother lets focus on the Noles a bit. A&M/Texas recruiting isnt one of your strong suites.
wow, ignorance is bliss
"Can not compete with UT even this year"? Isaiah Golden, Justin Manning, Ricky Seals-Jones just to name a few.....add in the ones that UT won't officially offer b/c they are already committed to A&M and when they didn't reciprocate interest in UT the offer never showed up.
Let me explain how UT recruiting has worked over the past 5 years. Mack "approves you for an offer". This is his way of gauging interest. So if you are uncommitted or committed to another school they will not officially offer you a schollie. He wants the player to visit the campus and if the player says he will accept the UT offer then the offer will be extended, otherwise no offer is officially made. This is his way of being able to brag about hitting 99% of the players they offered on signing day. It's actually a huge joke among most Texas schools and even UT fans are getting tired of it. He's changed his approach a little this season, but not much. If you look at '14 class A&M already has 3 in state kids committed that have UT offers already. I don't think Sumlin is scared of Mack.
Nine of the current committed players have signed already and won't count towards the '13 class, rather the '12 class. So take whatever total you have and subtract 9 players from it and you'll get in the ball park of where A&M actually sits for the '13 class. Wade, Points, Flowers, Sanders, Clear, Sezer, Stuckey, Chevis, and Williams are all early enrollees for the '12 class.
Now add in the fact that Stewart is a potential #1 pick in the MLB draft as a pitcher, we have 2 guys that are almost certainly not making it in for grades, and another QB who might be looking around due to the success of Johnny.
The coaches are also asking a few kids to take grey shirts in order to get as much talent as possible on campus in the short term. Not sure whether they will be successful at all but it's an angle they are approaching some kids about.
Also, if you've noticed A&M has had two WRs decommit in the last week. Steven was an upgrade and Whitfield/LaRue will act as the same if they choose to join. So even with Stevens added A&M is at 7 current WR commits.....Ricky Seals-Jones is WR/TE hybrid, and another commit is likely an acad casualty and will either go juco or prep. This takes the number of true WRs down to 5.
The Ags also lost 4 WRs to graduation, one due to personal reasons who will likely not be back, and has one on campus who lacks the talent to see the field anytime soon. So when you consider the amount of 4 wide sets A&M is in with the tempo they play at these WR commit numbers aren't insane. They are inline with replacing numbers while trying to stack talent and depth at a position that has never been a strong suit for A&M.
As far as the drop off in recruiting in the 90s that's a whole other discussion that is thread worthy. But A&M never upgraded their facilities in the 90s, got behind the curve and paid the price. UT hired Mack and had the best facilities in the nation, OU hired Stoops and won a NC in his second year, and LSU hired Saban and we all know how that turned out. So to say A&M was in a pinch might be an understatement. They were surrounded by 3 powerhouse schools and playing from behind the eight ball. It took a little while and a few coaching changes to get the ship turned, but most Ags feel there is enough talent on campus and in the coaching office to get the program back to winning annually.
Seems like I've heard a few times that because of A&M's splashy year, they are getting a lot of interest and they may be "encouraging" some of their earlier recruits that they're not as high on now to look at other options. Perhaps some of the Aggie fans posting in the thread can confirm or deny.
Only one gray shirt has been offered.. DT Kerrick Huggins, he commited to OU two days later. Hes looking like a late qualifer with summer school at this point. I think A&M is letting the recruits talk among themselves and allowing them to see the position being stacked with more and more quality players.. Letting the cream rise to the top as you call it. We've had 2 WRs decommit in the last few days due to the sheer number. Wouldnt suprise me to see more as we are still very hard after two more quality WRs one being Levonte. What weve been hearing is A&M is telling these recruits that they will have to compete to earn a starting job, and then watching to see who is ready to work hard to earn a spot. I dont think A&M wants to burn bridges with Texas HS so they wont push them away, but like I said let them be aware that it will be very difficult to get playtime.
Really? Not saying A&M will be world beaters next year but Texas is just lost. Not to mention A&M is now in the best conference in college football, has a great head coach, the Heisman trophy winner, and plenty of talented young players coming in. Not to mention they just skull dragged Oklahoma, who skull dragged Texas. I know transitive property doesn't work, but those two games being blowouts has to count for something.
Granted A&M might have a good track team and he has good friend Stevens out there. But i think he stays at FSU to play football and run track with his cousin and Bracy (who is a FSU recruiter) not to mention FSU is closer to Orlando then A&M. He likes his friends in O Town!!!
I'm not sure if Whitfield will get an offer from A&M. LaRue has a long relationship with our DB coach Yates and he is scheduled to be on campus soon so he may commit on that trip and then we'd be done I believe. A&M is a very popular place to be because they have the best QB in the country for at least 1 more year and possibly up to 3 more. Playing in the best conference with the best QB and an offense that will score a ton a points is any WR's dream. We'll see what happens.
What planet are you on? you have ALWAYS had to compete with the likes of TCU and Baylor for recruits. accept it. You have not been competition for either texas or OU.
thanks for the chuckle.
DespiteTexas being "lost" their avg, recruiting rank is still higher than A&M.
As to Stevens we told him to hit the road ., UT told Seals-Jones to hit the road. BTW, we'll see how the knee holds up. probably like Tony Steward's knee held up.
As to the phantom head to head battles you have allegedly won with ut, jus because a kid tells the yahoos that he picked A&M over Ut or the Houston texans does not mean he ever had an offer from either one.
eg, a 2014 cb that picked uf over FSU yesterday. he did not have a comittable offer from us. Just like Stevens no longer had a comittable offer from us. Just like Seals-JOnes does not have a comittable offer form UT.
You had a good year Bevo's little brother. It doesn't mean you are any less of Bevo's little brother. Having the letters SEc on your Jersey doesn't change 100 years of irrelevance. when you are 8-4 next you will be in your natural place.
Enjoy the, for you, rarified air people actually paying any attention to you.

"C'mon, you know we don't offer anyone unless they show up to campus and beg for an offer like a proper peasant. Heaven forbid we offer anyone who just deserves it based up his talent and our needs." - MartiMar
Exactly what I said. They may want to offer a kid, but unless he shows up to campus and accepts the offer in person he won't get one. Doesn't mean they didn't want the kid behind closed doors, it's about image.
Again, ignorance really is bliss for you.
Keep in mind this is just Twitter chatter and thats all it is, but some interesting tweets between Eddie Vanderdoes and Jake Raulerson righ
Sorry Aggies, like anyone else we have "those" fans too.
