I think most of us don't expect a NC next year with Trickett as our QB. If there isn't much of a dropoff, then go with the future and get him valuable experience early. And with Winston's ceiling compared to Trickett's, Winston could be playing like a Marcus Mariota or Johnny Manziel by the end of the season. Worst case scenario he could also turn into a Jeff Driskell but he's not nearly as dumb, so I doubt it.....and UF still was able to go 11-1 during the season. If we have a great season next year we can't expect it to be because of our QB play but it would be a plus if we found our QB for the next 3 years. That's just why I'm in favor of Jameis....more room to grow and if the dropoff isn't that big, go with the future.

If he can read a defense and stand in the pocket I say give him a shot, provided he is the best option we have.
Clint weighed in at 182 three weeks ago. I'm sorry to ruin your hate parade....
If hogan can run stanford's system as a rs freshmen than winston can run our system here.
What is so magical about being 190 even if Trickett gets there? and if we think (as some posters do) his dad will exert extra effort (which i do not) to make sure his son does not take physical abuse from defenses then he needs to be fired because he is trying to rig the game as to who is starting qb. Again, I do not believe for one second coach Trickett would approach blocking for winston or coker with any less vigor than he would for his son. however, it will be different because coker and winston can both run.
