Clint Trickett Isnt close to 190 with you on his back
Who says he has to be Mobile? Some great QB's aren't and we had a Heisman winner who wasn't. One thing about Trickett is that he won't hold onto the ball, he knows where to go at the snap.
He came into the fall at 180 lbs. I bet he's close to 190 right now.
I agree that he has shown he'll start the best player but he really hasn't had to make a tough decision regarding the qb yet. Ponder starting over Weatherford was a pretty easy call b/c Ponder was obviously the future and Jimbo had a bit of a grace period then. EJ was recruited and groomed by him and he was always going to be next.
The qb position seems like it is different than the other positions. I think experience is much more important playing qb (especially in Jimbo's offense). Will he go conservative and start the guy with the most experience or will he play the guy with the most talent and deal with some of the growing pains.
The qb battle will make the spring and summer camps very interesting. Jimbo's media blackout of practices will really suck for those looking for independent evaluations of their performances.
Are you going to be open-minded as to who the best QB is? Or have you decided. If Trickett is the best QB, what will you say?
I'm not saying you're this way, but many people are. "start the best QB, so long it's the guy that I have already deemed to be best with absolutely nothing to stand on."

Check him for a divers belt if he is 20+lbs bigger.
He weighed in at 180 4 months ago.
No he didn't, that was what was reported and you believed it
Since you were there, what did he actually weigh then?
And Jimbo, like Bowden, has a history here of guys being much smaller than they are reported. Oh, wait...
I wasn't there and if you noticed, I never made a guess about his exact weight like you see people do all the time
Im just laughing at those who say he is 180 and soon to be 190, cause I don't see it and all I know for sure is Clint is far too small for this level
Weights are often fabricated too

I doubt he is over 175. i want to be there for the weigh in when i hear rumors of 190. . He looks no bigger than 175. He hasn't added 15 lbs in 3 weeks tog et him in the 190 range i've read in a few responses. so he has gained 15 lbs because he figured out He doesn't get along with Gluten or he is drinking more beer.
He has already seen the benefits that came with any diet change.
he was 160 last year-they always said 175. those 15 lbs do not matter anyway.
however, who cares? Will he get faster when he gains weight? He is a cigar store Indian back there.
Jimbo needs to pare down the offense. That is the primary problem.
So, was Jimbo not telling us the truth when he said last year Trickett was at 175? say it isn't so
So what changes when Trickett comes in at 167 or 177 because he has 2 lb's of weights in his pockets? It is nothing different than if he was at 160.

Yep. EVERY player who has left FSU and tested at the combine weighed in at at, or heavier than, FSU listed them on their roster.
Clint is a different case, he gets so much ridicule on twitter and websites and pretty much all over so I can see it being something that FSU would fabricate in it cause most fans like you will buy it
I found the stories about him gaining weight were obvious, cause why single him out to begin with
Like Tnole said, Clint looks no bigger than 175 or so
FSU players under Fisher who've entered the combine:
Hudson- 6'2 299 @FSU-6'2 282
Ponder- 6'2 229 @FSU-6'3 227
White- 6'3 266; @FSU- 6'4 262
Nigel Bradham- 6'2 241; @FSU- 6'3 240
Zebrie Sanders- 6'6 320; @FSU- 6'6 307
Mike Harris- 5'10 188; @FSU- 5'11 195
Andrew Datko- 6'6 315; @FSU- 6'6 321
Average combine: 6'2.7 265.4
Average FSU: 6'3.3 262
Fisher and FSU have been reported pretty spot on since he arrived.
Don't care, again... Clint is an entirely different situation
All those players looked like what they were listed at
It is very unlikely you can tell how much someone weighs by looking at them. Is CT 175 or 185? No idea but it's not like we're talking about him adding 30 pounds. It's quite feasible he weighs somewhere in the 180-185 range. It's also quite feasible for him to add another 10 pounds or so from now until fall by continuing to eat properly and lifting weights. He's at an age where men tend to add more weight anyways.
Now whether that means he's the starter at qb next year is something else entirely. Even if he does begin the year as the starter I'd bet one of Coker or Winston plays extensively regardless.
I fully expect Trickett to be the starter next year even if he weighs 150 pounds, so I think the debate is irrelevant.
