Regarding our QB situation for next year I think I've settled on the idea of having a two QB system with Trickett and Winston sharing time. I was torn on the experience of trick and the potential and athletic ability of Winston so I figure why not utilize both and get them both on the field. It's work before with other systems including UF and OU just recently. I also think this let's Winston get his feet wet and build confidence and possibly taking over the role himself later in the season.
I think it should be a 3 QB system. No way Coker doesn't also see the field.
Agreed, but can you leave Franklin out? Let's play 4. No one will know what to expect. It worked for the Gators a couple years ago.
But man, that kid Haggins has an arm, he could be like the next Anquan.
UF actually ran a 0 quarterback system.
Any way Christian Green can get in this too?
Forgetting the sleeper Sean Maguire!!!!
Maguire couldn't pass Bert Reed on the QB depth chart. The future is obviously Billy Cartwell out of Springwood Elementary right in our backyard here in Tallahassee. Kid has a cannon and with talking with his head coach I hear he runs a 4.4 40 too.
Pwut me n caoch!
If coach had put me in, we would have won state for sure. Then i would be soaking it up in hot tub with my soul mate.
Also i bet i can throw a football over them mountains there.

I really like Coker a lot but I think everyone wants Winston to win the job which is fine if either win the job I will be happy. I won't be to happy if trickett gets the nod.
Screw it all...start Maguire.
This is probably the worst idea ever.
I think its a great idea and will propose it to Jimbo, I will let you know what he thinks.
Whoever wins the job I think that Winston should have a few packages to get his feet wet and take advantage of his athletism.
Next year, we offer all of our our scholarships to QBs... We create a unique 500+ page package for every different QB and only use a particular QB once in a game.
YOU CAN'T BEAT WHAT YOU CAN'T PRACTICE AGAINST, OH-THE-HUMANITY! THAT IS THE 18th TD PASS IN THIS GAME THROWN BY THE 18th DIFFERENT QB, JIMBO IS A GENIOUS!
NO ONE EXPECTED THIS TO WORK, WHICH IS EXACTLY WHY IT WORKED! IT'S LIKE HE PULLED THE PUNT-A-ROOSKY ON THE ENTIRE SEASON... IF BOWDEN WAS IN A GRAVE, HE'D BE TURNING OVER IN IT!

And imagine the confusion of the opposing team's offense when we line up in a 2 QB set on DEFENSE. I'm really thinking we could have something here!
Sorry to the OP. Just having fun. I hear what you're saying- better to get Jameis on the field some, right? I'm just not a fan of 2 QB systems. Especially in an offense that is reputed as being already too complex.
I am not a fan of a 2 QB system. I know that there have been some success stories but more often than not it fails.
In all seriousness I think it's a terrible idea. It never really works. Coker or Winston or bust.
The Future is Now.
US won a national championship with it and OU uses it quite frequently and effectively with bell. The 2 QB systems in the past that failed is because a team hasn't had an out right winner at QB and they just wanted to see what QB was more effective ours should be situational were trick is in there most the time with specific packages for Winston that highlight his skills and let him get more comfortable the offense. You get the advantages of both quarterbacks but also allow the freshman time to get experience.
UF* not the US
Here's a CRAZY idea..
Beat the hell out of teams whose 1st stringers couldnt crack your 2 deep.
Then, in what experts call "garbage time", you play your 2nd and 3rd string guys.
This is effective because in tackle football, the game time is determined by the clock. If you score many many points early, the opposing team doesnt have tome to come back, so the game is not in jeopardy if if your young guys make a mistake or two. It allows them to be more relaxed and acclimated to game situations.
I know this is a ridiculous, ludicrous concept, but I hope Jimbo catches on to this new theory.
Great idea!!! +1 You can't stop what cannot be stopped.
This is my favorite idea yet!! +2
