I personally love these threads...
There is a place for rose colored glasses.... and there is a place for brutally honest assessment... in my opinion, both are valuable contributions to the community.
The amusing thing about being human is that our approach is not consistent... some days we will be "brutally honest", while other days, we will be "rose colored glasses".... And some days we will be motivated by one, and on other days, we will be motivated by the other... while some people are more consistent... and will stick to the same thing 99% of the time.
This is a perfect reflection of the struggles FSU players have with their coaches. Some players may respond to being yelled at (Fisher), while others would prefer to be around a coach who is "rah, rah, rah" (Pete Carroll) ... And what motivates a particular player may switch, day-by-day, hour-by-hour...
My point is, be more tolerant of people from the other schools of thought. I read this thread, and abstractly, I'm reminded of the Albert Einstein quote, "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."

Are you really that mentally challenged?
Did you read which post that was directed at?
Talking about guys sloberring over Canolee's knob is perfectly acceptable message board etiquette to you?
Go follow the thread and come back again.
How do you know when it's time to take a lap?
When you start insulting the other guy's grammar.
That wasn't even grammar, just your rambling.
He said heinie!
The poster formerly known as 31-7. Understood by few, known by many, loved by all.
goog and FsuFan, good posts.
I love our coaches, but they have to improve-evolve as does each unit besides our DL, which is elite.
I just happen to think we are really close from a talent standpoint. Lets not lose sight that Bama had a lot more time playing together up front. We started two true soph's, a DT and a Basketball Player/Boxer and did a really good job. We are more athletic than Bama and physically just as good, we just need to be more cohesive and have less mental mistakes, as well as a QB that gets us into the right play and protection.
I agree we squandered an opportunity this year with a weak schedule in a conference that is in a valley right now, but I remain optimistic, especially with the additions of Pruitt and Sunseri and believe we have come a long way in just three years from a program standpoint. It's time to take the next step.
Ease up on Canolee.
big fan of a players dad wanting to fight fans
Somehow you missed the point.
You have a "fan" making gross comments on a post about someone who spent time and effort breaking down some tape.
The point was that he wouldn't make those comments in person, because he'd get his ass kicked.
Nothing literal about it, but I'll let you guys carry on.
Some of you are fans that should never criticize any other fan base. Ever.
Point is you're a chode.
You are the resident expert, so I defer to your expertise.
We read the substance of the post and found it amusing. I am being kind by finding it amusing. some that are not as nice as me analyze Canolee's "analysis" and draw the same comclusions about said analysis.
they do not have as good of a sense of humor as i do, ergo their posts are not as funny.
Not everyone can have such a developed sense of humor.
Canolee said multiple times he like Stork more than jones. 32 NFL teams disagree with him. yes, 32 of them, Oh, and every analyst of college football not named Canolee. a lot of you defending him on the substance when you do not agree with him. If you do, we need to open up a flat earth society on this board.
In the end, I trust NFL gm's more than canolee. Call me a pragmatist.
I like canolee's confidence in his albeit misguided analysis. He is entitled to say whatever he wants to say. We are entitled to be amused in a biting way if we feel so inclined. canolee, we are dismissing the substance of post and not you as a person. At least some of us are doing so.
I also agree with Greek: the gutter "talk" and the absurd Ad Hominym attacks should end at once. If you can't be amused and a post gets you angry it is best if you ignore the post.
You just come off as douche bag right now, calm down brah. And that's a shame because I've been a big fan of The Greek since I first watched his high school tapes.
I just don't like the smart ass comments, personally... You are one of those posters for whatever reason always has some bad shit to say about the team and trickett most of the time. The o-line could have had the best game ever and the only thing you talk about is how Trickett sucks.
Canolee takes his time to break down the play of the line for the board so we can see how everyone is progressing. If you don't like reading his comments don't read them and stfu.
You're one of those dudes that Greek was talking about when he says you like to hide behind a computer to spew your nonsense. You wouldn't say half the crap you say to someone's face. That's keeping it real.
You can call me a homer or whatever, but I don't think it's cool to come on here and talk shit about 18-20yr old kids playing football. I come on here to support and get all the great info Josh, Chris, Tom and the others bring. You come on here to criticize...
I think it's cool as hell for a players dad to defend the team from all the bull shat that you guys talk. There are a lot of cowards on this board that love to talk about how this player or that player sucks but would not say it to their face. Thats what he is taking about...
So your saying we cannot criticize a coach or player? What are we supposed to talk about? Only positives. I like to discuss the good and the bad
Matias and Jackson taking the next step
Chris Thompson before he went down
Rashad Greene remaining a consistently good player
Improvement of jwj as a runner
Great play of darby
Storks play at center
Play of ej against real opponents
Play of ol against real defenses
Xavier Rhodes play taking a step back
When this board started we talked about the good and the bad but people have now migrated to this board who refuse to acknowledge that fsu isn't a perfect team. We lost to nc state and got blown out by the only good team we played. This is far from a perfect team. If you Don't want to talk about all aspects of fsu football then unfollow every poster that doesn't post rosy thoughts about fsu in every post. Luckily, this website let's you block people.
I didn't say everything is all good. All I'm say is if you're gonna critique, be respectful...
You can criticize all you want. That wasn't the issue in this thread.
The problems started when a poster says stuff to the effect of "slobbering on Canolee's knob" and that goes unnoticed as if it is acceptable behavior on a message board or in public.
That is inexcusable, juvenile, and disgusting, no matter where it is directed.
You will notice I never defended Canolee's opinion, because I don't agree with him either, but that language and venom towards a long time poster is bullshit.
If the board has to be a cesspool for you guys to discuss differing opinions, so be it, but I've already stated I won't be a part of it.
But I'll be dad gummed if I'll let a few ingrates (and I'm not calling you one) disparage a poster, while allowing my silence to imply acceptance.
Next time follow the thread.
That's all anyone is saying.
Now that's just fine. A good argument that runs counter to my position has even been known to change my mind. I guess what most here would want and look for, is civil disagreement on any given issue. It's not what one says, it's how one says it that makes all the difference. To whit:
Corch Stogie SUCKS! He couldn't find his butt if he had a bell on it. All of his players continually miss blocks, are out of position, get run over by mediocre players and smell bad too! He's stealing FSU money by being on staff.
Coach Trickett's scheme and teaching techniques either are not a good fit with Jimbo's offensive scheme, or the overall quality of his OLman is less than what is needed to compete and win against the better of the teams we play. They smell bad too!
Same, same point, but with a slightly different approach.
Canolee may well be off base with a point or two here and there. Who the heck isn't. However, the man takes his personal time through his love of the game in general and FSU Tackle Football in particular, and offers up his take on how our OL and upon occasion our DL performs collectively as well as individuals for a game. I submit that for the most part, we're all the better for it.
I was a Baseball Coach. I don't know 5 gap from Brunch.

I'm just curious how anyone can say with 32 GM's in the NFL are thinking? I remember posters claiming that they "knew for a fact" that Chris Rix would be taken in the second round" only to find out that he not only didn't get drafted at all, but he wasn't offered a FA contract and had top try out to be a FA. GM's look for more then we know, Stork may not be what some think he is, but he's big, strong and moves well. Is it the system? Is it the teaching? Is it the offense that doesn't match with the system? I don't know, but we have for too long been seeing the same mistakes over and over again, so blaming 1 guy isn't a reality.
Haha Worm, I'm a big boy, it's all good.
Haitian, thanks bud. I thought it was a slow time, one of these threads would be good, especially since we added Pruitt and Sunseri, which have Bama routes.
greek, it's a lost cause. Threads like these give these Turds their only purpose on these boards and that is to muck up respectful discussion.
27, the world was perceived to be flat by most because it was thought to be common knowledge passed down, until someone who dug a little deeper, proved otherwise. The common knowledge here is that the two time AA is the better player. Lets revisit this argument in a few years. Saying all 32 NFL People prefer Jones is your opinion, unless you talked to everyone, included the college analysts. I only have film to go by and can't talk to the players coaches, or watch them practice(work ethic-intelligence). So of course, I'm at a disadvantage. BTW, how much film do you guys watch?
Naughty or Football?
Nash, i was wrong once. I didn't like how it felt. I don't mind some of the harassment, it keeps me on my toes.
ville, did someone hack your computer? with Stork, he is most likely playing out of position, but playing Center will definitely help his stock. The fact that he made All ACC second team means he stinks because our conference stinks? That hasn't stopped the NFL from drafting ACC players high in the draft.
