and their players are a lot better. They don't have to recruit against having to convince ol's to come play for Trickett.
It is laughable to assert the our ol group has equal talent to Bama.
They are better coached on the ol despite the greatness of Trickett AND they have much better players.
Yea I stopped reading after I read that....
"England expects that every man will do his duty."
- Vice Admiral Horatio Nelson, Royal Navy
What a terrible, terrible thread.
Everything that's right about this site and everything that's wrong with it all in one thread.
It is perfectly fine to disagree, but why attack Canolee? Give a good coherent argument of why you disagree. We will all learn something from good discussion. It is far easier to attack the poster. I take it that Canolee see's the scheme as a big reason we aren't as effective as we would like. Again I am not defending Canolee's opinion, but I am standing up for civility.
Don’t argue with idiots because they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Nash, appreciate it bud.
Chasu, it's usually the same guys and they never have a reason to back up their argument. Hey the majority of Americans think Justin Beiber is better than Ray Lamontagne. You can lead a horse to water....
27, I said both OL and DL. We will have more Big guys playing on Sundays in five years.
Ville, It's definitely scheme and the fact that I think we need to simplify some of the things we do in order to reduce some the mental mistakes we make.
As for Faircloth being a great player, that is a stretch and a half. But I liked how he played. He was athletic, aggressive and very dependable. As for Stork, wasn't he just on the ALL ACC team, so I'm not the only one that doesn't think he sucks.
And I will say, the one area that Jones and his line mates are far superior than our group is grabbing cloth and bear hugs and getting away with it. 350 yards rushing and not one holding call. Must be due to clean living. I watched only one game, but if JOnes struggled with Geathers, he's going to have a hard time on Sundays with all the odd man fronts.
Canolee, I appreciate your breakdowns, but I think Jones is better than anyone on our OL. He has proven it at every position. If Bama wins the NC, he will be the most decorated OL in the history of NCAA football. He might not pancake everyone he blocks against, but week in and week out he lines up against some of the best in the nation, and he beats them, through finesse, knowledge or leverage. You can't say that about Stork.
Totally agree that the tone of some is a bit much, but some of Canolee's assessments are baffling. Stork over an Outland Trophy winner at left tackle, Rimington Trophy winner at center, and a two time AP first team All American is a bit hard to swallow. Also, which two or three from FSU could be argued as starters for Bama? Two of their five are 1st team AA, while a third is 2nd team. If this is a projection as to how good FSU's will be at similar junctions in their careers is one thing, but right now? No way.
Those attacking Canolee rarely, if ever, bring anything to the table.
Their wealth of knowledge is limited to FSU sucks, Trickett sucks, etc etc.
Criticizing Canolee for his positive analysis of the OL would be hilarious if it weren't so Freaking stupid.
I don't pay to read your bullshit theories, nor your horseshit ideas of how to improve the program.
I personally pay to discuss FSU football with fellow fans.
To ridicule someone who watches film and provides analysis is the epitome of narcissism. On that day probably one player out played the other.
The sheer irony of if all is TNole leading the charge with his "I trust the NFL guys" mantra, when just a few weeks ago those same guys didn't know squat in their analysis of EJ Manuel. You can't have it both ways.
And just for the sake of argument, Ryan Leaf, KiJana Carter, Rae Carryth, Kevin Allen, Janal Reynolds, Bernard Williams, Andre Johnson, and Trezelle Jenkins were grateful of the great analysis that made them first round busts.
Jimmy Johnson, Bill Bellichick, and Bill Parcells made careers out of by passing expert "locks" and finding players that loved to play the game.
But let me not ruin the party, continue on in your perpetual bashing of the suckdom that is FSU football.
Who am I to ruin the party? Carry on.
So just attack the messenger. This certainly doesn't drag you down.
I don't agree with everything Canolee (or anyone else for that matter) writes, however, this is his opinion. He is entitled to his opinion as are the others. This board is becoming more and more like the TC on the other site. Again, if you feel the need to disagree fine. Just do it with facts and in a civilized manner.
That is what I did. I don't fault him for his opinion, but, with that being said, no one is above being called out for questionable opinions. I agree that the attacks are unwarranted, but it comes with the territory here. Tough Crowd.
He said stork is better then a 3 time all American.
It's not like he said something that was debatable. Storks parents probably wouldn't agree with that statement
Why don't you go slobber all over NoVa's knob since you strive to be like him.
"The homerism on this board is astounding."
Being a fan is being a Homer by definition.
Actually, he DIDN'T say that.
What he said, since your comprehension skills have momentarily deserted you, was "I believe Barrett Jones is an AA and is a smart OL, but I’d take Stork over him in all honesty."
Personal preference, while stating he is an AA.
And he gave you a reason why.
Thanks for the post Canolee. I appreciate your analysis and your opinion on the players.
The migration of assholes from other sites is becoming more and more apparent over here.
My comprehension skills are fine. He said he would take stork over Barrett jones. That means he thinks stork is better than Barrett jones.
What your saying is, canolee is trying to state that he would take stork over jones but that stork isn't better than jones. I am just trying to contemplate how someone can make an argument as pathetically flawed as what i think your saying.
There isnt one guy on our OL that would start on the Bama OL. Saying you would choose Stork over Jones is just asinine and homerism at its finest. There is 2 reasons this team is being held back and that is QB play and OL play.
Nice post, the migration of people that cant have their own thought process and have to rely on a high school OL coach too tell them how our OL played or looked in a game or games is very overbearing in its own right.
Your comprehension skills suck.
He said he would take Stork over Jones. He said it because he thinks that the assignments Jones is given are easier to execute, and Stork has done a good job being asked to do much more.
That's HIS opinion, and it is what he said.
Show me WHERE he said Stork is better than Jones.
I dont have problem with Canolee giving his insight. The thing is, if he is going to start a thread on his opinion dont get pissed if everybody doesnt agree with you and they give their opinion. The whiteknighting that goes on here is what makes threads so unreadable.
