What should happen to Miami
NCAA should throw out the case entirely
Miami should face minor additional sanctions
Miami should receiver major additional sanctions
(Total votes: 5,478)
A majority of those votes were probably by Miami fans, but this is what happens when:
A) People are years removed from the accusations
B) People are against the entity investigating (NCAA)
C) That entity botches their investigation
The Miami board has a thread about voting for choice A
i also think a lot of people who dont care about miami want to see the NCAA burned down. im on the fence. i dont think miami will get what they deserve because the NCAA botched this case so badly. id love for mark emmert to be forced to step down after this. the NCAA is comepletely crooked.
FSU Ambassador to the masses
All I take from that poll is that no one cares about Miami.
They didn't botch it that badly. In fact, the people who were investigating and the person that gave them the information "unethically" swear that the info wasn't obtained "unethically". Furthermore, there are now reports (On ESPN) that 3 Miami officials misled NCAA investigators. That won't sit well.
no but they look awful in the court of public opinion
i wouldnt be surprised to see miami get off with nothing, and i wouldnt be surprised to see miami get hammered. the NCAA is so uneven with their punishments that i have no faith in them to do anything right. look at how they let UNC get away with murder and then blast GT for $680 in improper benefits. they suck ass
Depends who you ask. The NCAA was already frowned upon by many, but was so Miami (after the Yahoo report). Nothing's changed.
They hit Miami with the LOIC. Big difference between the NC/GT thing and this. The evidence is astronomical in this case. You don't lie to the NCAA, that's what they hate most. A lot of schools get off easy because they cooperate full heartily; Miami did not.
I dislike the NCAA, but I despise Miami. (FMFFM) I hope they burn them down.
Votes would look different if miami had been recengly successful
At this point no one seems to care
Was that 3 officials or 3 former coaches? Big difference. I know Fernandez, Hill, and Hurtt are in hot water for not giving investigators the full story.
Burn Miami to the ground. Good riddance!
It amazes me how some people are just willing to turn their back on one of the biggest cheating scandles by one of the historic cheating teams. It should be imparitive that miami be held accountable.
Coaches, but that's beside the point. Former university employees tried to derail the investigation. They promoted an atmosphere that was not conducive to compliance. Hence the LOIC.
Hope they get hammered like Jay Fields at a bachelor party.
I'm just messing with you man.
As much as I hate Miami. They aren't going to get punished more severely because 3 coaches who were no longer employed by the university misled an NCAA investigation. If they were still employed at the time they misled that would be a different story.
Why do you think those coaches left or were dismissed? Put two and two together. Those guys created a compliance issue while they were at Miami and continued to push that issue after they left. Their employer will take the brunt, that's just the way our system works.
See USC after Pete Carroll and Reggie Bush left. It didn't matter that they were gone.
