Brent Musburger still thinks Te'o's girlfriend is fine as hell, though.
It kind of mirrors their season, it was a nice story, but not a lot of substance behind it.
Maybe Teo can join George Oleary at UCF now.
I hope this story isn't true, to do something like this just for media attention is sickening.
I don't think Deadspin would post that if they weren't reasonably sure they were right. Mind is exploding.
There was really no reason to do it. ND went undefeated so he was going to get pub regardless, and his grandmother died, so he was going to get sympathy regardless. And good God how stupid was this kid to think someone wasn't going to catch him?

I was thinking sad, but either way.
Notre Dame statement on this.
On Dec. 26, Notre Dame coaches were informed by Manti Te’o and his parents that Manti had been the victim of what appears to be a hoax in wh

Apparently he told reporters she visited him in hawaii... Dont know how that story will hold up.
Bewildering. I wonder if this started as some lie at a party or bar just to be left alone or something like that (leave t'eo alone tonight he is bummed about his girlfriend undergoing chemo , who knows maybe dying) and Te'o just stuck with it. by the time it got national media attention there was no going back.
the only thing missing was The words "Save whatever her name was" on the water tower in south bend or palo alto.
i really hope for his sake this story is wrong.
Some great "journalist" espn has over there.
"I never knew I had a foot until I noticed it was on your neck"
this has to stay on top of the board.. HAS TO
Man, this looks bad...
Wow. What a spin job by Teo and ND. He said he MET her, in person, in CA and he spoke to her many times on the phone for hours on end. Said she flew to HI to meet him.
Dude made it all up. Crazy.
Bjoern was just with Te'o I saw on twitter. Someone should ask him lol
Three W's In My Life: Ward, Weinke, and Winston
Sad. Ridiculous. Flabbergasting. Hilarious. Evil. etc.
This is epic. Mind-blowing stuff, i cannot wait for further stuff to come from it.
Pretty sure this Te'o story was a plot on Saved by the Bell.
Will this hurt his NFL stock?
