Teams that have or will have a private workout with quarterback EJ Manuel:
Chris Nee of 247Sports.com. You can follow me on twitter @CNee247.
Do you think he goes first round?
Cowherd says he's the surprize of the draft, just like Ponder was. He says he's spoken with multiple scouts who are in love with the guy, and he will go far sooner than projected.
That lack of noise you hear about him going in the first = teams bluffing.
I'm deferring to Cowherd, the guy knows enough about the NFL to view the league abstractly, like Neo in the Matrix. If you followed his picks last year, you'd be a millionaire.
I'm a big fan of EJ. Good kid, good player, and great representative for the University. I hope he sneaks in. I don't expect him to.
Most predict 2nd-3rd round, odd they invited him to the draft(usually reserved for 1st rounders).
If we see a team trade back in to the late 1st, I fully expect it to be for EJ. Most of those teams have early 2nd round draft picks and 1 will get scared and trade back into the 1st to make sure they get him.
yeah, I was definitely joking. I feel about the same as you do wrt to EJ as a person. I feel like he sneaks into the first round. The mock drafts are always too logical, and taking a QB out of fear of someone else taking him always seems to happen earlier than expected.
I mean, the drafts are never as logical as the mocks. People have days to perfect mocks, then the real thing goes down in real time, and people are left wondering why the hell someone would take a punter in the 3rd round.
You only get 1 chance a year to gain experience drafting, and I think a lot of these guys are emotional, not logical, when they do it. If you're eyeing EJ, and you think there's a big drop off between him and the next guy, you're going to draft him early, probably far too early. Especially considering what a great person EJ is. He's got tons of potential. I think someone falls in love with that potential.
He will go 3rd in the in 2nd round 35th overall to the Eagles unless someone makes a play for him in the 1st

GO NOLES! / SCALP EM!
I agree completely! Also I would almost guarantee that the Eagles second round pick is as far as his night goes.
EJ was hurt by Fisher hiring more of a recruiter then QB coach in Craig and EJ didn't seem to grow at the rate he did prior to Fisher taking over as HBC. If EJ could read the safety better and was a more willing runner, there is no telling how good he would have been at FSU. As a second round or late first, you drafting a kid who could become a franchise QB with unlimited potential (big time arm, great size, great feet and nice speed).
Why on earth is Cincinnati looking at EJ? They have their QB, don't they?
yeah thats the oddball. dalton isnt going anywhere
FSU Ambassador to the masses
they are expecting the usual run on qbs. im willing to bet someone trades into the end of the 1st and grabs him
You need 2 QB's in today's game. I think the only way he goes round 1 is if someone trades up from round 2 to take him at the end of round 1.
"Some people think football is a matter of life and death, I assure you, it is much more serious than that."
Dalton isn't very good.
I just hope he does not go to Jax. It is a lose-lose if you ask me. No matter what he does he will always be second to Tebow in that town. I just want to see him succeed and I think Philly is the best choice for him.
No he would not, because Tebow will not be there
He was pretty good last year for not having any kind of run game. Took them to the playoffs in his 2nd year and has started all 16 games in his first two seasons.
I'm indifferent about having EJ on the Eagles. I also think it's unfair to blame EJ's play on Fisher hiring Craig. From what I've heard/read they had a close connection and he was always coaching him up during the game. Quarterbacks have to be good decision makers to be very successful, and IMO that is more instinctive than coaching. Plus JF is supposed to be the QB coach anyway.
