Completely incompetent, getting murked by their rivals.

Listen to some of what Mack Brown has been saying, it's eerily familiar. Enough to make some people cringe I would imagine.
Mack is a disaster. Won't pull upperclassmen even if they don't listen to their coaches, won't discipline players for freelancing.
Manny will come out clean in a couple years, with a head coach who values accountability.
Yep that's what it reminds me of to a T.
They look exactly like the FSU teams of the mid to late 2000s.
Wow we all head the same things that made us all think of BB in the final years. The part where the announcer said he has earned the right to come back if he wants really hit home to me.
That defense looks like Mikey's last defense.
Good posts by all!
Funny thing is, Mack hasn't earned the right to stay at Texas.
Agreed. I'd argue that Mack has underachieved more than Bobby ever did (in the final years, even). Most top HS recruits in Texas naturally want to go to UT. The amount of talent in Texas, obviously, is very high. In Bobby's final years, we still had Florida and a better Miami (than now) to compete with for recruits.
Honestly, the title they have is more attributable to Vince Young playing as Superman (a lot like Cam did) all season long and ESPECIALLY against USC. Mack still sucked as a coach.
A&M is rising, especially by joining the SEC, b/c it allows them to differentiate from UT, instead of being their redheaded little brother in the Big 12. OU gets theirs in Texas, but still...Texas is still the flagship program in that area.
Would Muschamp consider returning to Texas if offered the job? I know he grew up in Gainesville and thus he might stick around. Or is he only waiting for the UGa job, since he went to UGa and his wife is from the Atlanta area, as well.
Edit: Diaz is calling a miserable game, too.

Except Brown is like 15 years younger than Bowden was and didn't hire his relative to be coordinator.
Bobby and Beamer are program builders and legends. Mack is neither. Not on the same class.
BTW, if y'all thought our playcalling system was weird (towels...which I think is a superb idea), did anyone just catch those huge cards they have on the sidelines? One had a Hi-C logo on it.
Did you happen to catch the final score?
We won our bowl games during that period also. Good luck next season
You guys are back! I look forward to another epic OU-UT game next year
Did #23 beat #13? And I'm a Seminole fan, but some of these posts are ridiculous. These same guys were clamoring for Dana Holgerson early in the year. Applewhite just took over, so some things were going to be rough. This is not Jeffrey calling plays.
Looked a lot better 2nd half. Defense stepped it up. OSU coaching was absolutely braindead for not helping the RT on Okafor, who was in the backfield all game long, whether using the bull rush or the speed rush.
I still maintain that Texas should be a top-10 program and title contender perennially with the talent they attract. Mack has underachieved for a while now.
They look a hell of a lot better than we did at the end of Bobby's time They are very young

Be honest, Texas underachieves. They had one of the worst defenses in the nation. Texas has fallen hard since 2009.
They also have 20 of their top 22 back on defense next year.
Except they're 9-4 and we were 7-6.
They were 7-6 the last two years. Remember, we went 9-4 the year before Bobby's final year too.
yea he def hasnt and the fact that he couldnt hand it over to muschamp when it was set up has to make it even worse
texas could find a great a coach no problem tho mack needs to go for sure i bet gary patterson would jump at the chance

In my opinion, Texas is probably the best job in the country. When the change is finally made, there will be no shortage of candidate's. As far as Mack is concerned, he has Vince Young and Pete Carroll to think for the one title he does have.
