Free at last?
Free at last?
Thank god almighty?
Are we free at last?
I wonder if he will send two student-athletes to do the interview. May I suggest Christian Ponder and Dekoda Watson.
See ya....useless prick
Do they need an OL coach and an indecisive 5-star LB?
I remember my own mother was like wtf, are they serious? Sending two players out instead of the grown men owning up to their decision.
Fill me in on why all the hate towards Spetman?
This could be the best news I have heard in awhile.
Completely in over his head at FSU. More suited to run a lower level athletic dept
The worst thing imo that he has done, as alluded to by others, was sending 2 players to face the music (reporters) after the news of Bowden's forced retirement broke. Kind of cowardly, it was his job to be the face of the program at that time.

Most see him as a figurehead T.K. put in place so the president could run the AD. People see a lack of both leadership and fund raising as the moves that modernized FSU football were done under Jimbo. There also was the very poor handling of the Bowden departure. I think the President's Cup rankings have to be some sort of feather in Spetman's cap, but you can't work at a football school and let the football program decay on your watch.
The football team has improved a lot under Spetman since he got here in 2008.

GO NOLES! / SCALP EM!
Three W's In My Life: Ward, Weinke, and Winston
Jimbo Fisher has read game contracts. He's the AD as far as football is concerned. No one in football respects/worries about/fears Randy Spetman.
I wonder if Lord Bobby Bowden thought the same thing?
i still don't understand the animosity to Spetman. i saw the reasons but none of it really sounds like something you'd want a guy relieved for.
looking at the big picture, Fsu is now a repeat top 5 in the directors cup which encompasses more than the football program. Fsu is getting upgrades everywhere and in almost every sport since he's been here. ipf and dorms are a reality. first Acc championship in basketball. elite track and baseball programs.
Could it be this was done despite Spetman? absolutely, i didn't become more than a casual fan until i attended Fsu about 7 years
ago, but from an outside perspective it
sounds like he did a good job

FSU has never had more more or mor athletic success then it has with Spetman. Be careful what you wish for.

If you guys think the AD is driving force behind our good athletic s right now your crazy. He is merely just a puppet. Jimbo pretty much controls him on the football stand point. The president has been behind the dealings with the ACC and other conferences. IMO because he doesn't feel the AD is competent enough to handle it.
FSU A.D. Randy Spetman issued a statement this morning that refutes reports listing him as a candidate for Rutgers job. He states that he was contacted, but is not interested and content at Florida State.
