Honestly, where is your breaking point when its time for a change? What has to happen to change your mind about his ability to get FSU football back to the top of college football? He is going to get 10 win seasons 9 times out of 10 in the ACC as long as he recruits well, but is that going to satisfy you forever?
I'm not going to attack or even post a disagreement to anybody's response. I'm just curious where people's minds are that disagree with me....and there are many.
WHO DO YOU HIRE?
He'd hire Saban of course.
FSU is an extremely attractive place to be a head coach. You can win titles here. Honest question, do you think FSU can't go out and pull in a great coach to replace him when the time comes? We may not be Bama or ND, but FSU is still on the A list.
10 wins a year is what Bobby Bowden did in his prime.... Should we have got rid of him?? Only thing else Jimbo can do is win a Natty... Bobby only won two as College football's all time winningest coach.. Some get them early, some get them later on. I just want to continue to be in the conversation and that's what 10 plus victories and some luck brings you.
Ah, gee. Look at the time.
Are you prone to histrionics in your everyday life, or just where you have the ability to say silly things on the internet for attention?

Don't waste your breath. This guy is bent for one purpose. There are several out there.
Times when we are successful, they will hide and lurk and feign happiness. But their real happiness comes when the team struggles. Then, they get to swoop in with "told ya so" and posts like this one where some person freaks out because of recruiting struggles after losing six coaches in a span of a couple months.
These people cannot be reasoned with.
I like this optimism and I think Jimbo is a good coach. With a few tweaks here and there, I think he has the potential to be a great coach.
Jimbo has not reached his ceiling yet, but he's got a bigass rafter or two in his way because of his own stubbornness.
But then again, I'm just some dude on a message board, so here's a grain of salt to go with my $.02.
The poster formerly known as 31-7. Understood by few, known by many, loved by all.
Dude I'm not even wasting my time arguing with you. Look at where we're at compared to when he took over! It's a process! He's improved our program every year! Yea we lost 6 coaches in one year.....ALL TO PROMOTIONS AND RAISES!! And What did he do? He replaced the coaches we had with better coaches and better recruiters!
He needs to give up play calling and hire a new OL coach.
The Future is Now.
haitian - if you are responding to me buddy, I can't see it.
End of the year for 2012 was a little rough financially and we had to make some temporary sacrifices. Sorry 247, I had to decommit and rethink my position. Lucky for you guys though I still have you in my top 1... just waiting for National Payday 2013.
He inherited a team that was 7-6 3 out of the 4 years before he became head coach. The team was .500 in ACC play during that time (18-6 since he took over). He has recruited good to great, hired well and has beat our rivals (7-2 against UF,UM and Clemson). He just won our first BCS game in a decade (I don't care who we played we won the game). Everything he has done so far has been pretty good, but people acting like we just finished a 7-6 season after a few recruits decide to go elsewhere. I think if anything it shows how much he has changed this program by how disappointed so many fans were this year with a 12-2 record and ACC/Orange bowl champions.
A head coach needs to hire good coaches (did a pretty good job first time around and we'll see what happens with these hires), recruit well (2 classes inside top 3) and gain booster/administration support (indoor IPF and player dorms). This year will be when I make my decision if I really think he is the guy to take our program forward, but anybody who is judging him right now is doing it too early. If we lose 3 or 4 games next year, lose more coaches and don't recruit a top 10 class for 2014 then I will think we need to move in another direction, but I'm not going to think that now with what he has done so far with the program he took over.
A house divided against itself will not stand.
The head coach is the face of our program. Directs our program. If you value our program, you support everything and everyone with the power to advance the program.
Until someone else is the head coach at Florida State, Jimbo is that guy and my loyalty to our program, through him, is unwavering.
Oh and complaining about it on a message board doesn't fix whatever anyone perceives to be wrong about the program. It's just an avenue for people to ACT like experts and artificially inflate their own self-worth. Stop fooling yourselves into thinking you opinion matters or you have any influence to fix anything. If it did, you wouldn't be using a message board to spout off. THAT'S REALITY!
Message boards should be used to discuss things, share opinions, but anyone, without a shred of humility, who acts like they have perfect knowledge or know what's best for the program ahead of the professionals employed and entrusted do, are living in Fantasyland.

EARN YOUR SPEAR! AT WORK, IN SCHOOL, IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD! SHOW OUR RIVALS WHAT BEING A SEMINOLE IS ALL ABOUT. EARN IT! EVERY-SINGLE-DAY!
Only 2 things have to change for me to feel he can get us back to the top of CFB.
1) He must give up playcalling and hire a legit OC.
2) He must replace Trickett.
I have never thought about down voting or ignoring a poster on here. You are getting real close to both. You post as though you have no clue how college football works, or how bad this program was before jimbo took over. This leads me to think you are 3 y/o, and would explain the type of poster you are. Please get a clue!
UF has had to hire a football coach three times in the last 10 years. Twice they hired coaches with no head coaching experience and it is widely regarded that UF is a top 5 job and higher on the pecking order than FSU.
There are no guarantees FSU would be able to hire a proven head coach...especially if they fire a guy who wins 9 or 10 games a year.

I like how this FSUBone fella only replies to the posts he feels like he has an answer to.
Unfortunately, message boards are overrun with these people hijacking every thread and twisting it to fit their agenda. Very tiresome and not even worth the time.
I agree with you. Although 10 wins then and 10 wins now is not even close to the same. You can be 10-4 now a days and back then you could only be 10-2.
GO NOLES! / SCALP EM!
Could argue it was easier back then because of a 12 game max and more schollys.
Now adays roster management is pretty tough. Attrition bites you at a position or two more often times than not.
I'm soooooo sick of this. When is my breaking point? Well, it's not after a 12-2, ACC Championship/BCS game winning season. It's definitely not after one bad recruiting class after a string of phenomenal ones.
Some of yall need to gain some serious perspective or you will never enjoy the game of college football. Go be a 7-6 Cane fan for a season, and then tell me how bad FSU has it. You'd think FSU fans would clue in when rivals are coming on this board and expressing how ridiculous it is that we're bad-mouthing our head coach after what has been a pretty startling three year turn-around.
