Not a flame attempt! Now that, that's outta the way. What are yalls thoughts on Jimbo leaving? His nameis being tosser around a lot.
He won't leave for Tennessee or Auburn.
He's recruiting we'll and winning. If he wasn't doing a good job nobody would be talking about him.

I'm beginning to think that Jimmy Sexton (Sabans, Jimbos, and Mark Stoops agent) just likes messing with Auburn. Jimbo was coached by and given his first job by Terry Bowden as I recall Terry and AUs good ol boy network didn't leave on the best of terms. I hate to say this but you guys imo are going to have a difficult time hiring a big name coach because of the way Chizik and Tubberville were treated.
But he sucks... Oh, wait...
The guy could be a crappy coach and still not leave for another job. What he has now is better than any current and projected opening.
Leaving wouldn't make any sense.
Meh, either way won't matter too much.
He wouldn't have stuck around as the OC for so long if he didn't really want to be the head coach at FSU for a significant amount of time.

Thoughts? I haven't given much thought to it and I doubt Fisher has either. He, much like Stoops, is not leaving for a lateral to inferior job; especially when he already has his self-proclaimed dream job.
He's already shot these "rumors" down.

Just because a name is being "thrown around" doesn't mean that person is actually a candidate, or either side has interest. Remember some of our searches? Chris Hatcher? Ha! George Henshaw?
If Jimbo left I would officially label him a slim ball. FSU has completely bought into Jimbo and his family. We've given him 2 contract extensions, an IPF ($$$$$$), and raised the salaries of his assistants significantly so they won't be easily poached by other teams for lateral moves. In addition we have significantly increased the personnel and scope of our S&C program per Jimbo's request. Jimbo ain't going anywhere unless it's the pros or for some ridiculous salary at a national power.
$4,000,000 in the sec. their all national powers
They all might be national powers in the SEC but THEY'RE not too keen on grammar.
FSU Football. Making cool the new swag since 2013.
grammar police out
His new dorms are also being built and there are $32 million in reno going into Doak and TLCCC.
If he leaves, then FSU becomes the #1 job opening in college football.

Which is why he wouldn't leave.
His name is being tossed around a lot by his agent.
Auburn wants someone more proven and Hart and Jimbo do not get along.

So Auburn is going to pay Jimbo more than what Chizick made after his NC season even after they have to buyout his contract on top of that? Sounds legit....
No doubt. We are more high-profile than Auburn and Tennessee. And those are two very nice coaching jobs, not taking anything away from them. But we'd never get in some bidding war with them so, who knows. They might have half as many wins - COMBINED - as we will this year, and no, the "SEC" wouldn't have much to do with that differential.
I think Jimbo would be foolish to leave for Auburn or Tennessee. That's not simply FSU chauvinism. Those jobs have real issues that come along with them. Leaving for an LSU-level program should Miles ever leave would be far more understandable, though I still like to think he'd see the light and stay. I also think FSU should pay Jimbo fairly for doing a good job, but they would be foolish to let an agent pull the media's strings in order to get FSU to bid against itself out of a panic.
I worry that FSU doesn't have strong leadership right now, but I hope that there is someone there to tell Jimbo that FSU loves him and wants him around for a long time, but FSU isn't going to be in the habit of engaging in panic spending sprees like the other moron ADs that end up sticking their schools with paying relatively unproven coaches $3.5mil per year with a $7.5mil buyout because of one good year. Jimbo's paid pretty darn well as it is. Nor should FSU get into a dumb bidding war with deeper pockets. If some school wants to break the bank and massively overpay Jimbo out of their own desperation, then let them do that. Wish him well and move on. I really don't want to lose the guy, but I definitely don't want FSU to damage its program long-term because it makes dumb decisions out of terror.
By the way, should anyone get too crazy with talk about Auburn's drawing power for coaches, be sure to take a look at their hiring history. Jimbo Fisher would easily be the biggest blockbuster hiring in Auburn's history. Chizik was hired after doing a poor job at Iowa State (and his hire was widely derided as a terrible, desperation hire at the time). Tuberville was hired after managing a 25-20 record at Ole Miss. Terry Bowden was hired from a I-AA program. They hired Pat Dye from Wyoming. Auburn was Ralph Jordan's first head coaching gig. And on and on. On their coaching list is John Heisman but Auburn was an early stop for him before he made his name at Clemson and Georgia Tech. Summary: it is not a school with a history of being stampeded by high profile coaches asking to get hired.
At 10-1 yall are #10 in the BCS, I would imagine that is enough of a slap in the face for any coach to look around. That's not intended as a jab at yalls program but again look at the BCS you'll see 3 SEC 10-1 teams at 2-4. If Jimbo was at Tenn/Auburn at 10-1 he'd be right up there with a chance to play for the NC. That's just my thoughts on why he'd leave.
Yea, it has nothing to do with WVU dropping our game late and us scrambling to find an opponent and having to settle on a crappy FCS team.
There's certainly a legit point that the ACC sucks top to bottom and its hurting us but 2 points - first we're better than all of the SEC schools this year save Bama possibly UGA and second FSU has >>>> more talent than both Auburn and Tenn combined at this point and there's no way either of those teams can recruit like a coach could at FSU. If we had taken care of business against NCST we'd be #1/2 right now.
