Mark Robinson is leaving the Arkansas staff to become the director of football operations at Florida State
Info pulled from Arkansas edu site. (cut out irrelevant stuff)
Mark Robinson is in his fifth year as Arkansas' director of football operations after spending five years as a football operations assistant at Texas A&M. He joined the UA staff on Jan. 3, 2008.
Robinson oversees all the daily operations of the Arkansas Football program. He is responsible for the operation of the football program's budget, scholarships, team travel, housing, camps and clinics, NFL relations and other administrative responsibilities. Robinson is the staff liaison to the Southeastern Conference. He also monitors and records all athletic related events for the football program.
This past year, at the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, Robinson coordinated the scheduling and all travel arrangements. He created daily itineraries, including the game day timeline, published the travel roster, organized all team meals and distributed player per diem funds. He took personal responsibility ensuring the Field Scovell Trophy, given to the Cotton Bowl champions, made a safe return to Fayetteville. It was Robinson's third bowl trip at UA after he also coordinated the Razorbacks' trip to the 2010 Liberty Bowl and the 2011 Sugar Bowl, the first BCS game in school history.
Robinson served as the Assistant Director of Football Operations at Texas A&M from 2003-07. At A&M, he assisted with the day-to-day operations of the program, including team travel, practice, game day operations, recruiting and coaching. He assisted the staff with recruiting letters and videos, worked with the compliance office, handled player guest tickets, coordinated various activities and functions related to three bowl games, assisted with recruiting weekends and official visits, put together a player policy manual and supervised team-building activities.
Robinson played on the offensive line at Appalachian State from 1998-2002, where he earned his bachelor's degree in communications
He started yesterday from what I heard
Does that mean we actually have someone that will oversee everything football. Does this mean Jimbo has a boss that gives a crap now? If so could we be one step closer to a real OC?
TREASURE COAST HIGH: "TITAN BORN TITAN BRED"
why me....ummm. NO... He had zero imput to anything Fisher does. In fact, he was hired by Fisher.
You are confusing this position with the Athletic Director.

Just curious how you comment on something so quickly, but you dont know tthe difference between the jobs. Nor did you take the time to look the job description up. All you know is you want Jimbo out. And for what? He is one of the best recruiters, puts together awesome staffs and wins. If FSU fired him he would be interviewed foor every job opening including the OC job at Alabama.
How did we EVER compete with an SEC school with their trillions of dollars. It must be a miracle.
anyone who could survive John L Smith will do fine
Now if we would only go get their ad...
Their AD hired Bobby Petrino and John L Smith...
Not seeing that guy as a real desirable guy to have choosing coaches.
Just because he's great on twitter and fired Petrino for breaking the law doesn't make him a good AD.
Where did he say he wanted Jimbo out? Calm down.
He has the stones to make decisions. Petrino was a great hire for them. Great hire. Who knew he could not have any affairs outside of his office.
John L Smith was a one off to hold time until Ark could hire a real coach. A lot of ad's would not have had the cuts to fire Pterino much less bring John L back.
Also, Bielema was a hire which took great decisiveness.
I have a feeling we may need that around here within the next couple of years. We actually need it yesterday.
I have not even discussed the need for a strong ad during conference realignment.
An AD who overpays for mid-level coaches. With no experience in realignment.
Other ADs would have "no guts to fire Petrino"? LOL. HE BROKE HIRING LAWS. GROSS MISCONDUCT.
I'd take Jurich over Long twice a day and ten times on Sunday. Guided that athletic program from CUSA to ACC, elite in revenue sports. Good fundraiser, etc.
It's just really difficult for you to pass up an opportunity to take a provocative shot, isn't it? Just an observation. It doesn't bother me one way or the other (in fact, it's actually entertaining at times) but I have taken note that your consistency is extraordinary.
Obvious you know nothing about me. I know far more than you assmue I do. I assumed that director of Football operations meant you were hired by the AD to oversee the football program. I was wrong I will admit that. But that's why I asked the question. I can care less about Jimbo being fired. Infact I have said on this site many times, that Jimbo should stay. He will be a great Head coach one day. I am just not a fan of his offense. (And haven't been since LSU to be quite honest)
I don't post for board cred nor do I get into the online verbal jabs, so stay in your lane homie It's not that serious. I asked a question, thank you for answering it. Now keep it moving. Now if you are bent out of shape because I asked about getting an actual play calling OC then you must hate 75% of our fanbase. Remember, even the great Bobby Bowden let this OC/DC call plays on Saturdays.

it's cool. Some people on these boards talk tough, but would be the first to run in real life. Internet Message board tough guys are at a all time high now. I don't take it personal. His issues are his issues.
Wow. Sensitive are we. For someone who doesn't care you sure wrote alot. But besides all that, i agree id rather not get into some stupid arguement on the site. So therefore i apologize. I also can understand you don't care for his offensive scheme, but what would you prefer, more run, more pass, option, spread, etc. Like to here thoughts
Petrino mid level coach? On what planet? you ever think an nc st would hold us to 16 with a petrino. They wouldn't have held us to 46.
This year with the pre affair Petrino, FSu cruises to the mnc game. cruises to it. We may not have won but we would have gotten there. We would not have been universally called underachievers.
Petrino runs offense better than anyone. Jimbo kind of runs an offense, one with no cohesion whatsoever.
Jimbo has failed at what petrino does very well. Being hc and defacto oc at the same time.
He is light years ahead of Jimbo. He is also a pig.
i stand by my statement that a lot of ad's would not have fired him. Most of the of Ark faithful wanted to keep petrino so Long had cover to keep him if he wanted to do so.
Ark. is a state where Whitewater was on par for accepted business practice
I stand by my statment a lot of ad's would not have (I can point to 4-5 in the SEc) fired petrino.
As to bielama, he has taken a program with no traditon and no recruiting base (and is not near a recruiting base) and won 3 big 10 titles.
That is impressive given the circuimstances and limitations of getting kids to madison.
whether he works out at Ark. is secondary. It took a lot of guts to go in that direction.
i also agree that jurich would be a good hire.
WE NEED A REAL AD NOW.

I guess I took your comments the wrong way. Just tired of these message board no it all tough guys. I see now that, that wasn't your angle so my bad on that. Now to answer your question, I am big fan of the Air Raid system. Not so much the WVU version, but the Baylor, Texas A&M version is ideal for me. More importantly I am a fan of any offense that will not take it's foot off of the pedal.
Jimbo has a good scheme overall. However, he often get into his groove of play calling and the defense and DC get comfortable. And once that happens it makes the game much tougher on the offense. As a high school OC I sit at home and call out what play is about to be ran before we run it. So I can imagine what opposing DC's think. I guess to sum it up, I would like for Jimbo to force the issue more.
No shot. Well, maybe a little shot. Just showing that we can compete with SEC schools and always have been able to do so. Auburn overpays by a lot because if has no choice. That does not mean we can't compete with them, it just means we aren't stupid with our money.
