Read this pile of crap.
The ACC is mediocre because Florida State has been mediocre, and now the Seminoles want to bolt to the Big 12 because the ACC isn't good enough. Gregg Doyel says the logic is twisted, but make no mistake: FSU leaving will be a death blow.
There are some painful truths to that, but I disagree that moving to a stronger conference will hurt us. We have played down to opponents for too long, and if that is no longer an option, we will have to bring it every week.
Guess which college he attended
So we are suppossed to carry an entire conference? Why don't other teams step up and become "power players" when we step back from title contention like we see in every other conference? Does it really matter how we fare in the ACC? This move is strictly for financial reasons. Last time I checked, on VT has been a better ACC program than we have since expansion. We have held our own in this conference.

swofford is a bad bad man! One of the dumbest things I have ever seen
I think he is right except i think we will be an OU or Tx level team. We're better the texas right now. we will be one of the big powers in the big 12.
What i wonder is what if we had fallen off in 1994 or so or so-what would he acc look like now?

You know whats crazy, is that my best friend and HUGE Nole fan texted me the other day and this is word for word "Dude screw the B12, we will never win a Title again smh".. And I told him I dont agree or disagree with him, but if you cant dominate the ACC then moving to the B12 is not very smart..
When you report a $2-million budget deficit and another conference can double your TV revenue, it IS a very smart idea to make the transition. Whether you want to believe it or not, Florida State is improving and once again becoming a player on the national scene. The SEC is a dominant conference because of the wealth associated with it and the competition that is within it. Why can't the Big 12 become the same thing?
Florida State was playing one of the toughest schedules year in and year out during their dynasty run. This program was built on "anyone, anywhere, anytime" under Bowden.

Guess uf should leave the SEC since they have been terrible the last 2 years. If you can't be competitive in the SEC then you should leave.
where does that put you? we've whipped your ass the past 2 years
lol, this is being repeated by so many people and the logic is sooooo mind numbingly dumb. So because we haven't been very good lately we'll never be elite again? When FSU is good they can compete in any conference. I guess Texas should just abandon football because they aren't very good right now. Top programs go through down spells; how is this so damn hard for people to grasp?
Do people realize how stupid this sounds?
FSU has the facilities, recruiting, boosters and tradition to win big!
FSU hasn't won big in the last two years. They'll never win big!!
We could be running shit in the ACC right now and go to the Big 12 and in a couple years suck. Just like we could be average right now and go to the Big 12 and tear shit up. I must have imagined when FSU was the king of college football for a decade.
Our defense dominated the ACC, and was one of the top units in the country last season. The defense is already on a MNC caliber level. The problem was the plethora of injures to our offense last season (EJ Manuel, Andrew Datko, David Spurlock, Rashad Green, Willie Haulstead, Chris Thompson, etc) Hopefully everyone can stay healthy this season, so that we can see what our team is capable of.
As long as we keep dominating Florida....
Why do people link articles they don't like?
We can't "dominate" the ACC, and yet we're 3-0 against the SEC during Jimbo Fisher's tenure.
Anyone else read this clowns bio? Guy is a gigantic tool...
"Hi. Hello. Congratulations, you found me. And I know why you're here -- it's because of that column you just read. It angered you. So here you are, trying to decipher my motives.
I was born in Hawaii, raised in Oklahoma and Mississippi, went to high school in Wisconsin and Georgia, then attended University of Florida. If you can figure out why I ripped into your favorite team from those clues, more power to you.
Whatever the case, this is my bio, so this is me: I write, fight and read for fun. Walked into an MMA gym to see what it felt like to get choked out, then decided to stick around. Authors? Tried to get into David Sedaris and failed. Tried to get into Jonathan Franzen and succeeded. But my favorites are Chuck Palahniuk at his best, and Matt Taibbi at his worst. And me. I'm underrated.
Come back on Thursdays for that embarrassment to journalism I call Hate Mail, and follow me on Twitter, where my meltdowns are accidental comedy gold.
Personally? I have three dogs, two kids and one wife. And that's none of your business.
As for your original question ... maybe I just don't like your favorite team. Ever think of that?"
Stop acting dumb.
It's an interesting view, just one I disagree with completely.
If we can't win the ACC??
12 times in 19 years if I'm correct??
The only team top to bottom in the Big12 that has a leg up on us right now is Oklahoma.
I think it was a legitimate question. People constantly complain about articles and then link them to get even more people looking at them. It's counter-intuitive.
