It seems that Revis has been traded from NY to Tampa Bay pending a physical exam, Great addition to the Bucs!
i get the terrible feeling we are going to give up too much to get him
FSU Ambassador to the masses
Don't like it either. This is one of those kill the future save the present deals
thats my line of thinking. i cant stand giving up 1st round picks for anyone
IF Revis is healthy this is a homerun for us. With the additions of him and Goldson to the secondary we are a different team. We have a legit chance to win the division if Freeman takes the next step.
So now we have Revis that means no X Rhodes in the 1st round meh.
GO NOLES! / SCALP EM!
This is how I see it:
Revis is a good addition for a team that is one impact player away from being a contender. TB has many holes in their roster and while Revis may improve their secondary, there are still a lot of weaknesses that will keep them out of contention. Potentially giving up several draft picks that could help improve the other weaknesses for Revis is a questionable decision, imo.

exactly. if you are a contender you make moves like this. the 49ers can make this kind of move. 1stly theyve got about 14 picks in the draft and 2ndly they have a superbowl contending roster already. the Bucs entire defense is a question mark except for safety
Seems like a desperation move for no reason. Good trade for the Jets though who haven't made a smart personnel decision in ages.
Not a Bucs fan, but I think it is a great trade for TB. Yes, you can draft secondary, but with Revis, you know you are getting the best CB in the league. The guy is so good, unless there is lingering effects from the ACL (which there probably is not), this is a homerun guy. Sure you will give up picks, but this guy can turn your secondary from garbage to greatness. Plus, we all know the Jets could screw up the draft if they had 7 1st rounders.
"Some people think football is a matter of life and death, I assure you, it is much more serious than that."
Tampa Bay had the No.1 rush defense in the NFL, and the No.32 pass defense.
They needed cornerback(s), and just picked up the No.1 cornerback in the entire NFL. Also, there's no corner in the 1st round mock that I would take instead of a Darrelle Revis in his prime.
Darrelle Revis > 1st round pick.
Now what else do we give up? That remains to be seen. I imagine it could be a 3rd round pick or a 5th round pick. Regardless, it's not a super deep draft, and the Buccaneers success hinges on their secondary matching their front seven, and IF Josh Freeman can take the next step.
We get Davin Joseph and Adrian Clayborn back next season. That will make our already good OL even better, especially run blocking. Clayborn and Bowers will be what we [Buc fans] all hoped for them to be when we drafted them. I've read reports where the Bucs coaches are fully confident that Bowers will be a force next season, and Schiano said he expects 10 sacks out of him.
How much is the rush defense's success a result of teams going pass happy on the poor pass defense? I fear safety play and pass rush may make Revis look like a mid tier player. Hope not.
Darrelle Revis passed physical. Bucs send 1st in 2013 and conditional 4th in 2014 that could be 3rd to Jets. More on ESPNews
GREAT DEAL BY TAMPA BAY
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Darrelle Revis received a 6-yr deal from the Bucs that makes him highest paid DB in NFL history but includes NO guaranteed money. None.
Revis deal with Bucs is six years, $16 million each year, no guarantees. Pay-as-you-go.

That's a good question, one I don't have an answer to, but the only RB to have his way against us was Adrian Peterson. Also, 7 out of our 10 losses were by 7 points or less. And we return some big time key pieces to our roster who missed the entire season last year in All-Pro Davin Joseph, and Adrian Clayborn (8 sacks as a rookie).
most of those losses also came on qb's driving right down the field on us on the last drive of the game. qb's passed all over us for game winning drives all year. we also get carl nicks back, i think he went out in week 8.
No guaranteed money is the big part for me. If he gets hurt he doesnt make a dime.
We FLEECED the Jets. A 1st, and a conditional 3rd/4th next year, for th best damn CB in the game, on a contract with ZERO guaranteed money..... Wow.
Consider me a proud Canadian Bucs fan, who will get to see his team for the first time live this Movember in Detroit.
There is a need at end, and the Bucs have the pieces to move into the back of the 1st round. I could see Carradine or Werner in Pewter and Red...
I'm so pumped, I just peed a little...

not a bad deal. im much less pissed about this seeing that its the first this year and either a 3rd or 4th next and no guaranteed money. not bad
I like the deal! I'm happy. Although a bit sad a good Nole like Rhodes won't be a Buc now. That said, Revis Island FTW!
