I've noted a few times that our momentum seemed to stall in the spring of 2012. There just always seemed to be stretches of good and bad. Very jittery.
It seems as if we are getting it back now. That's great news with the season starting. Getting a buzz around FSU will amplify recruiting. I think that's the biggest reason why Joke Miss recruited so well last year.
Well, that was auto corrected for Ole miss, but it's fitting, so I'll leave it.
We just added a really elite, really versatile guy out of SC. Our prestige is returning and expanding. Come on Jameis, take us to the top.
6'4 280 RE Wideman
6'7 290 LE Leonard
I wonder if we still pursue Torres just in case Jones doesn't qualify.
"I never knew I had a foot until I noticed it was on your neck"
I wish wed put Jones at C and Eberle at OG. Torres at DT.
Wideman is a DE imo
I've noticed a lot of hard work on the recruiting trail paying off lately as well. I'm still looking for a wow offensive player to pop though. Lane? Hill? Scott? I guess we only lead for one of those three, but that's what I'm kind of waiting on. Then of course a couple 90+ OL types. I will admit our defensive recruiting is kinda sick though.
Added 3 4star offensive recruits in the past couple of weeks at QB and OL and returner/slot....and a 3 star RB who can play early

while there are highs and lows, recruiting talent to fsu will never be a problem b/c the only true negative against us is not being in the sec and that doesn't apply to all of them by any means.
tally/fsu easily sells itself, throw in a coaching staff that works at selling it, and well, you get routine top 5 classes w/ top 10 during years in which basically the whole stff changes.
I love all the cliff-jumpers who claim that 2014 is a weak class. 1 5* and 11 4*s, #2 in the country is weak.
I'm not saying you're wrong, and I'm not saying I'm not guilty of it myself. However, when other people and myself were unhappy with our recruiting, we didn't have Pugh, Wideman, Marshall, Harris, Martinez, Vickers, and we fell out of the lead for Elumenor and maybe Prince. Oh, and we lost the lead for Hill.
Now we have all those guys and it looks like Hill is ours and maybe Mavety. To say FSU has the big MO right now would be an understatement.
As outspoken as I am at times I find it necessary to step up to the plate and admit it when I'm wrong. Jimbo and co. really REALLY stepped up their game the last month or so and this class is looking like a top 3 for sure. Some of it will be due to numbers, but there are still a ton of studs in there.
FSU currently has 5 kids ranked composite top 10 at their positions. FSU has an additional 4 composite top 15 at their position. Then another 6 composite top 20 players at their positions. That's F-N solid right there. Not to mention that Pack and Marshall are in that last group of composite top 20 at their positions, yet are top 4 in our class according to 247.
The only things I want now are the OTs, an elite pass rush weak side end, and a wow playmaker on offense. A guy that defenses have to worry about all week and account for every snap. Is Hill that guy? I hope so. I want to put a lot of stock into the poster who said we are in the mix for Lane, but that still feels like a long shot because nobody else is really reporting it like that.
Trickett, Haggins, Sal and Jimbo must be salivating at their options. I like Eberle at C and Jones at OG, with Torres at DT. Wideman (like DWalker) can play DT and DE. In any case, I think we should take Torres and they'll figure it out.
I must admit that last year there were many, many stretches where I was worried about our recruiting. Things just weren't clicking last year and then we finished strong with Walker, Ramsey, MT6, and Bryant. This year, on the other hand, I never fell into that hole. This year has been strong from the very start. Now we just need DE Leonard, an outside WR (Malone is my bet) and a couple of tackles (we will land either Mavety, Johnson or Prince). I've been saying for some time that we'll have a top three class with only Bama and LSU ahead of us.
What a staff Jimbo has assembled!!!!
Jaboo having a big year will be huge for recruiting! We will be the IT team and we will finish with a hell of a class
I think we will.
Momentum is nice, but the time you NEED to have it is in January. No matter how much you have in the summer, if you don't have it in January, everything can go to sh!t. That said, I will never be worried about recruiting with Jimbo's staff. He makes sure that everyone understands it is a priority (if they don't already have that mindset to begin with).
"Some people think football is a matter of life and death, I assure you, it is much more serious than that."
How big of a qualifying risk is Jones? Also, while I'm not really high on Jones, I think he's a DT all the way.
Christo omnino nihil praeponere
I've heard both Jones and Wideman are questionable, Seabury as well.
Wideman looks like a DE at the Under Armour Combine and DT on his film. He looks leaner and a lot more fluid and flexible at the combine; if he keeps his weight in check and can still accelerate around the edge he's all DE.
A DL class of...
DE - McClain
DE - Leonard
DE - Wideman
DT - Christmas
DT - Torres
... is a really solid one.
And I'm in agreement about Jones, I think he's an Olinemen. His game is strength and leverage and at 6'2 270 he's not the typical Odell DT IMO. Don't think he's got the burst, but he's got the strength as an OC or OG to stand his ground. Plus I think he's got a bit of nastiness to him and we all know Trickett likes his kids w/ an edge to them.
Hmm have not seen anywhere Jones was in question. Seabury more than likely(he does have a chance though), there is some question on Wideman. Coaches do review those things though and we usually don't take one unless they do have a chance atleast. Casher had no chance either, worked his ass off and made it.
More on point much better feeling this year than last, add a few OT's and let the rest fall were they may. Sure we may have a few de commit/mutual parting of ways, but to think Brewster/Pruit are still out there lurking have to think there are some good things on the horizon.

Well look at it this way, how many non-qualifiers has Fisher had since he took over? There are 400 days to work with each player and the school/teachers to come up with a plan that sees them qualify. I don't think Fisher would take this guys if they were such a risk.

That's kind of the point though. We need the momentum to begin rolling down hill now towards January. We need to create a buzz to get kids on campus (Prince, Holmes, Street etc.). If we don't do that this fall, January is meaningless.
The moment I converted to a positive rah-rah fan, this all started happening.
You are all welcome. 16 and 27, if you guys want to start exhibiting irrational exuberance, Lane is ours for the taking, if not Clowney for his final year of eligibility.
