Our boosters? Talking in the 3rd party like that lets me know where you stand. When somebody says its pretty likely we and everybody else stays in this conference we are in the mafia? I will go along with whatever the powers that be decide but Im trying to be real in my conversations with you not just daydreaming.
Just a note about the "mafia"......as I see it.
This would not be folks like you. I think most folks like discussions with everyone on both sides. What is disturbing are the posters who come on over and over usually with a manner that they know more than anyone else and have the idea that no one else's opinion matters but their own. Most of the time that is all there is on message boards...opinions. The best posters imho are those who can present their opinion in a logical and rational way. To much sniping and snarkiness on Warchant again imho.
I think SEC would be the best place for FSU, and Miami as well. What is the possibility of that?
The PAC 12 does not want Boise. Mainly because its a tiny market, really does not bring anything to the table.
P12 would take San Diego State first. In Fact SDS would not be a far fetched addition. BYU would be attractive except they have a religion affiliation.
What P12 really wants tho are for Texas and Oklahoma to join. The longhorn network was the sticking point during talks last year. But if Texas can be convinced, then Tex. Tech, Ok. St., and Oklahoma would prolly be coming.
The BIG 12 has a GOR, they are locked in for a long time.
correct. They are leaving if they get the invite.
Less than 50% if you go 5 years out. We could go to the big 12 now. Furthermore, conferences will need to expand to protect themselves and the money gap is now too big and will even get bigger. Baylor, for example, stands to make 37 million for the big 12 and tier 3 rights this year which is right at 3x our take int he ACC this year.
With respect, we are just waiting for the next domino to fall. Our action will have to be sooner rather than later. Fortunately Barron knows that.
We may not get into the SEC but our chances are better than most FSU people think.

You think Texas couldn't get out of that if they wanted, for greener pastures?
This board at times is far worse than warchant, the way people just out and out verbally attack people on here is absurd.
Jam doe more for FSU, than most everyone else combine who posted in this thread.
As to what Jam has done that may be true but in all honesty it has nothing to do with how correct he may be on this thread. The numbers are against a 90% chance of a long term stay in the ACC because of payout disparity with other conferences.
As to Texas, the best deal they will ever get involves being a much bigger fish in the pond. They are much bigger (relatively) in the big 12 pond than anywhere else.
As to the tone of the board, I completely agree with you. The immaturity is staggering considering there is an ignore button.
They have not been invited to the B1G - yet?

Where I stand is a long time booster and donor to academia.
What I have seen is you take cheap pop shots at warchant towards anyone who even dares question the ACC. As a booster to the athletics and academics, I am offended a rep takes a position far beyond one that 'stands behind leadership'...but one that is aggressive towards anyone that just ponders FSU's future in the ACC.
I have also seen anyone who points out ACC revenue issues attacked by pro ACC folks with comments about our donor base, like myself.
I am tired of the defense of Swofford and his TV contract and this BBall conference first while representives like yourself feel like it is OK to go after our own fanbase/donor base.
The loyalty of the ACC mafia should be with FSU first and the ACC a DISTANT second.
At the end of the day....it won't matter, you will see more ACC teams leave (not FSU), and FSU's hand will be forced. Whatever happens...happens, but I am tired of the insults we see on Warchant from yourself and the others who are emotional and anatagonistic to anyone who dares wonder what FSU's future is.
As a booster/donor, I wonder why your voice matters and mine doesn't. If you would like, I can call you and I will remove my donation because it seems only my money matters and only your opinion.
I just wish people would respect others opinions, and on top of that if people post info they feel pretty secure about, that other people don't go on a bashfest because it isn't what they want to hear.
FSU moving by itself to the B12 would be a unmitigated disaster.
-The schedule would not change much from what it is
-The dollars in the media contract while higher, are still projected and based on a lot of what if's (like IF a B12 team makes the playoff, etc)
-FSU might as well be Boise St in the BE, since the geographic footprint is home to only around 15% of the base (alumni/boosters). Hard to sell a product nobody ever see's, because there would be no more regional broadcasts in the current footprint.
FSU needs partners for such a move, and right now those partners do not exist, and tbh FSU is not overly interested (unless something radically has changed in the last 10 days or so)
I dont have favorites as far as a conference, whatever happens happens. Im just saying the ACC wont go down without a fight and I see the odds greater that we stay put but who knows. Jay Fields had it right, any changes will come like a thief in the night just like the Notre Dame deal, nobody saw that coming. I will step out of this thread because you are the one being atagonistic, you run down OUR conference every chance you get and as a 25 year booster (nothing to do with being a employee) that bothers me, you do know recruits and their families read these boards. You win.
I will say one last thing, on a personal level whatever we do I hope we stay in the east.
Antagonistic only in response to you and your antagonistic posts. I quit Warchant because of your post along with the rest of the ACC mafia.
We really aren't far apart in what we believe. The only difference is, you and yours go after (insults, pop shots, backhanded comments, etc) anyone that questions/ponders/or wonders about the future of the ACC. I don't see the harm in wondering what possibilities there are and don't get why the ACC mafia takes cheap shots at anyone who does.
Posters pondering the future of the ACC aren't damaging the ACC for our recruits.....the ACC damages the ACC by itself. I wish you put the responsbility of that on the conference and not our fans..again, blame the FSU fans first for the ACC failures...don't get it..
But debate is not welcome with you and the mafia, so I will stop...you win. But if being a booster means monolithic thought (which I am not even sure what the party line is honestly)....then I guess I don't belong.

So, if someone disagrees with your assessment, it is a lack of respect and you are being bashed?
Texas isn't going anywhere for a while. They are being kept in place both by the grant of rights and by the lucrative Longhorn Network contract with ESPN. Texas could have gone to the Pac-12 twice in the past couple years but they wanted to stay put because they liked their situation. That said, once the grant of rights in the Big 12 expires, if the LHN is still struggling at that time, then absolutely the Pac 12 will make a play for Texas and I believe Texas will listen. They'll also listen to the Big 10 and the SEC. If Texas can't make the standalone cable channel model work long-term (and it is really struggling right now), then they'll look around at what leagues with conference-wide cable networks have to offer. If the Pac-12 makes their dual-track channel model work, then I think they'll be a prime landing spot for the Longhorns. The Big 12 is stable for a little more than a decade, but after that, it is a major question mark. That's why I personally believe FSU leaving for that conference is a very, very dangerous proposition (at least unless they can bring 3-5 of the ACC's best along with them). If the ACC wants to be a legitimate player the next time Big 12 instability hits, then they absolutely need to have its own cable network established at that time.
Everyone chill out.
People can believe what they want - ACC, B1G, SEC, Big12' etc
No need to be a bunch of dicks to each other because regardless of what we each believe we all want what's best for our mutual favorite team/school.
0.01 percent on the SEC; I imagine UF, Bama, Auburn, and UGA would be against adding a market competitor to the league, plus right now leagues are in thrall to cable networks and FSU would not add much additional value to the league in that regard. Unless ESPN goes to them and tells them that FSU is the only way to break the bank in their renegotiations and cable network (unlikely), then I can't imagine them doing it.
The UCs and USC (and likely Stanford) will be dead set against adding San Diego State. I'm not sure anyone in the league has even the slightest interest in adding another California team, to be honest. I don't see that happening short of SDSU going on some incredible run in football beyond even what Boise State has done of late while the league hits a major slump at the same time. If the league decided against BYU last time around, I don't see them changing on that any time soon. Texas is what Larry Scott dreams about, and it is basically the only realistic place the Pac 12 can turn. I just think they'll have to wait a while before they can turn there. Luckily for them, they have an insane TV deal that will keep them happy for a while.
welcome to my ignore list. not many are on it, you're one of the chosen few.
Here's the thing, you may dislike how you've been treated in the past, but that wasn't by me and I wasn't on warchant to see it. This isn't warchant. You can say pretty much what you want here, except attacking other people - which you've been doing since the beginning of this thread.
You hate the ACC, that's cool with me, I do too. But, I still appreciate PBen sharing what he hears and I sure as hell appreciate what Jam does for FSU. You, I don't know, it looks like you're clouded by your hate for the ACC. I don't know, you're just another anonymous poster to me, so I guess there's no point in making any assumptions about you. But, I know this, I know I don't have any desire to see you attack other people who love FSU as much as you do, but have differing opinions. Your anger, it only brings sadness as far as I'm concerned, and I don't need that negativity.
You can respond, I hope you do, I'll enjoy seeing the posts that are clearly from you, but are rolled up in a way that I don't have to read. It will bring me happiness when I see your negativity hidden by technology. But, you might want to know this, you have logical arguments. You probably have an opinion worth sharing. However, as long as you keep attacking fellow fans and playing the internet bully, you'll keep being added to people's ignore lists - until the point at which you start wondering: why doesn't anyone respond to my posts, is everyone ignoring me?
Do your thing. It makes no difference to me. For now I'll smile when I see your hidden posts. I hope you say wise things that cause you to be quoted, and I can unignore you in the future. This isn't warchant, and it benefits you in no way to continue to act like it is. I wish you the best, after all, we're all Noles. I just have no use for you now. You're noise, and I prefer signal.

Where did I say that?
This place is a waste of time.
says the poster who turned this thread into what it is with his [stuff] disrespectful response.
Ignore all you want....you own the tone of this thread.
