Just watching these games I think it needs to be Coker. Coker is an adept runner and great athlete. Tall, strong pocket passer that can do nearly everything Kapernick can.
Completely agree with you.
Jameis Winston is just as tall and a better athlete..... Why should it be Coker. He hasn't done anything in college yet and Jameis had a better high school career..
Why because he had more stars? I think Coker is the man. You can disagree but we are not starting a RFr next year IMO. And yes a RSo is way different than a RFr.
You have valid arguments - and you certainly could be right...
But #5 is our starter next year folks. Mark it down using a sharpie.... barring injury he's our guy.
Post like these just setup the arguments for the future. None of the potential qbs have played any meaninful snaps in a year. No one knows whst we're going to get once live bullets are flying. I do gind it funny that last off season people were calling for trickett because ej had met his ceiling. Now trickett is message board villain since he is the presumed leader for the job.
I think physically Winston is a clone of Kapernick. Both seem like A- arm guys who run 4.5s and are legit football players.

I amazed that after a season where a RS freshman won the Heisman and a RS freshman played for the national title, people still think a RS freshman can't start for us. Not saying Winston wins the starting job, but his being a RS freshman should be the last thing to disqualify him.
Neither of them have any experience, and I think Trickett has to be the favorite. People don't like it, but it is what it is. It's going to be tough for Winston to earn the job if he's playing baseball too. I hoped he would decide against it myself.
I would be happy with Coker, but Winston wasn't brought here to sit on the bench.
Didn't say can't. Said wouldn't. I don't think we start Tricickett because you'd have a totally different O for your starter and top backup. I think Coker starts and Winston backs up. CT likely wont stick around. Samford?
I'm excited to see what Coker and Winston can do. I guess we have seen so little of Trickett, it will be exciting to watch him too. Never seen Winston play and very very little of Coker so everyone's probably like me, eagerly anticipating the competition.
Won't miss any practice or scrimmage in spring ball.
Honestly there should be 70k at the spring game to see this battle first hand but Noles will say gas is too expensive or something.
Starter's aren't decided in January. Not in April. In August.
Why do you think Coker is the man? What has he done??
Trickett is not going to third string. He will back up WInston or Coker if they were to win it. Whoever loses is behind between Coker/Winston transfers. Wanna bet Jimbo won't let Jameis be the guy that goes??
The only reasonable statement you could make there is that since its not August yet we shouldn't discuss it.
Anyways, yeah I see potential greatness in Winston and Cokwr. Trickett is solid.
I feel like Winston ends up transferring if Coker starts next year. I want Winston IF he has the highest ceiling unless he's just that far behind Coker and Trickett right now. If it's close then I would like to see Winston get in there and get some meaningful experience during a season that none of us expect to compete for a NC. If Coker is the best then I'm fine with that. I just want a ****ing QB that I'm confident in again.

And why exactly won't Trickett be 3rd string, because he was the back up this year? Lol
He's the only one with experience. Next year will be his 4th year in the program. He's solid and exactly what you want in the backup. It would not suprise me if he started the season with Jamies having a couple of packages in place for each game and working his way to getting the keys full time...
Yea, i can't wait. This will be a fun competition to watch. May the best (Coker) QB win.
Great conversation which is what we all want and look for. Up vote each other. It's therapeutic.
It will not be Trickett next year, that's one thing I'm confident in. I think he has a rather low ceiling. I personally like Winston (he seems to have the personality of a leader, not to mention all the tools), but Coker is big, strong, can run and has a cannon of an arm. The competition between the two will only make them both better.
