apparently signed with them as a UDFA
FSU Ambassador to the masses
As a Jags fan, I'm thrilled about this. I was hoping we'd take him with each of our picks from the fifth round on.
He has a great chance to make the team, too. Greg Jones signed with Houston this offseason, so there is a spot on the roster for a FB.
im pissed. i wanted him on the bucs
Perfect. The advantage for UDFAs over being picked 6-7 is that you get to choose which team you go to, so you can pick a good situation.
Jags lost Greg Jones this year. Montell Owens is a FB, but he was just a special teams player (albeit an elite ST player...30 tackles on ST) last year. Don't see him as long-term FB. The other guy has just been on and off practice squad a few times.
Jedd Fisch is the OC there...ironic that the ex-UM OC is now coaching Pryor. Probably loved what he saw from him vs. UM, partially.

Wanted him at Buffalorida State
yeah i thought they might draft him. i figure EJ would be banging the drum to take him in the 7th to be his safety blanket. doest buffalo even have a FB?
Lonnie confirmed this via Twitter.

If I'm not mistaken, Syracuse used a lot of two tight end and one back sets last year...I don't think a true FB has much of a role in Doug Marrone's system.
Let us know is you hear anything of Rodney Smith, Amp McCloud, Greg Reid. You'd think Reid would get picked up for his PR skills alone
GO NOLES! / SCALP EM!
true but its not like lonnie is really a true fullback anyway since hes not 245+
Looks like Lonnie will have some competition. The Jags also signed Nebraska UDFA FB/TE Kyler Reed.
They're not going to want to take Spiller off the field that much. Also have Fred Jackson on board. Team has way too many holes to take Pryor, who would really just be a luxury pick.
i forgot about fred jackson. i was thinking theyd use lonnie as a change of pace guy or a powerback to complement spiller
Yeah...they also have Choice, who is a waste of space.
I think he could play the third down back role well, sort of like a Brian Leonard. Elite pass protection and has pretty soft hands, too. He's faster than Leonard, though, I think.
Except when Spiller and Jackson were both hurt this year and Choice was the only one healthy
Still surprised no one drafted Lonnie.
the level of anger for me, we move up in the 6th, Lonnie a perfect fit for what we do could be a great back up to Martin.... and we pick that waste of space from miami... so frustrated.
And traded Blount in the process
For a scat back who probably will never see the field since his future is in track.
Really, he was one of the most valuable players on our team.
