The obvious answer is Tunsil given our OT needs and his proximity to Tally but we actually were somewhat of a factor for Tunsil at least for a while, so I think it is unfair to say we didn't target him. One kid that really irks me that FSU was just never in it for at all is Alexander the CB from Imokalee.Just seems like with Hargraves going to UF and Alexander having no interest in UM, this was a kid that geographically we should have made a top priority. I know he has handled his recruitment a bit unorthodox to say the least but after reading a piece on him on ESPN about how his father moved the family to the US from Haiti and he has grown up such a poor area, makes me wish we would be bringing in that type of kid. You know this kid will work. Whoever gets him will be getting a hell of a player.
Just as a disclaimer, I am not at all upset bc we landed Ramsey and think that he will be every bit the prospect Alexander will be but the way we ended up with Ramsey was pretty improbable. We could have easily been shut out at CB if he had decided to stick with USC or had we not gotten Pruitt. Maybe the mods could shed some light on why FSU was just never in it for Alexander and how he compares as a prospect to Ramsey.
Other guys that I think we probably should have targeted earlier D. Gray from DC and Bower. Seems like we just got in the door way too late on these guys and I think both will be great wherever they go.
We did target Alexander and seemed to be in good shape until whatever happened with Mackenro. Bower came to a summer camp as in Tally as a JR then committed to Auburn and was solid with them until the staff change. On Gray, I believe Josh or Chris said the coaches werent all that into him
I wish we had locked Eddie Jackson up way earlier. Played it close to the vest...not gotten our interest out too much to the public, but building a strong relationship with him that would've been insurmountable for Bama.
I also wish we showed more interest in Michael Deeb. Really like this kid as a football player.
Truthfully, unless it was Dawsey, Trickett or Odell, then no one. How many people were we in on that the coaching departures messed us over on.
And Tunsil is out of our price range.
Any comic fans out there, check out Tart, written by a Seminole Grad, who is incidentally... me.
Most didn't think Jackson would qualify. I actually didn't mind how the FSU staff played this one, it just didn't work out in the end.

Ngakoue and bower
Derrick Green and Greg Bryant
I think we should have targeted those two along with Collins and just hoped to land one.
Co signed. As a kid who was a Nole fan we should have pressed to get a commitment early. Doesn't mean he would have stuck but we would have been in much better position to blunt a Bama surge of interest. Have said this on other sites but he is a five star talent.

"Some people think football is a matter of life and death, I assure you, it is much more serious than that."
I feel like even if we recruited him early and got a quick commitment that he still would have gone to Bama if offered.
Florida State has been on Ngakoue for almost a year. The effort was definitely there.
I remember early last year we were on him then we backed off it seemed like. But your right we were on him early
It takes two to tango. In many of these cases I don't put the blame on FSU getting outworked. The player has to have an interest as well. Jackson and Tunsil would be perfect examples. FSU has been in contact with Tunsil since the Timmy J days. Jackson felt that FSU was his dream offer until Bama came knocking.
Tunsil. Tinsil. Tunsil.
FWIW I would take Ramsay over Mackensie.
