Pben No one is going to give this guy the benefit of BB. After 1999 BB took basically the best program in the country and destroyed it. It took 10 yrs to get rid of him when it was clear 6-7 yrs before that the program was headed for disaster. Jimbo has dug us out of the mud and significantly improved this team and program in 3 yrs. I can assure you he is not going to be her in 7 yrs. to destroy this program from where it is today.
That said if he can't start beating teams he is supposed to then he won't last. I am confident the BOT will not let him run this program into the ground. Let's wait a little while a let them do their job.
BTW he didn't hold us hostage he just did what anyone would do in his position. He got a potential opportunity to be a head coach vs stay in a total disaster with no guarantees of being a HC. What would you do if your lifelong goal was to be a head coach? What's was best for his family? The real problem was TK and the wonder boys had a program with only hope of FSU not falling thru the cellar was jimbo in 2008-9. He didn't create that.
It would be one thing if our O was sorry and we had to lean this much on our D, but it isn't. Jimbo needs to stop being so conservative in his play calling and just open the play book up and hang points like its his job...oh wait, it is his job.
I am really beginning to hope FSU gave Jimbo that extension to show recruits Jimbo is here for a good long while, but there is a way out of it if need be or he will just step down if a change is needed. Coaching shouldn't account format losses if any and Jimbo is gathering up losses on his account.
I do think he is capable of hanging points aggressively enough for this not to even be an issue. But why isn't he?
I will do a summary response.
Yes Richrod's violation was holding practices too long, turned in by players...oh and Michigan is looking awesome this yr..
He should of been hung, and exactly how did he choke at WVU, do a little research and see what that program was prior to his arrival..
You think we don't bend rules now? Hard to take anything you say seriously if you are that naive.
Jimbo Fisher had a top 5 team playing in a very weak conference with a weak schedule and essentially all he had to do was not "Nut up"....oops.
Finally I was not going to get into this, but I was down on the sideline on Saturday, i saw a guy who looked desperate, took no help from anyone who cursed his players out as they came off the field (which is fine if your Tom Coughlin and have actually won something), at one point he lit into EJ, and Trickett stood behind Fisher mouthing, "No, he is wrong, wasn't your fault".
There's your current team, with our evidently on the job training micromanaging coach.
Maybe he will decide its in his best interests to seek some help during a game, but I can tell you now, at this rate he is going to lose another game he shouldn't.

Is that FsuFOREVERANDEVER (a Bowden PR hire) or BayouGeorgebears?
You think the following people would have agreed to have been hired AS AN OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR (put that in caps since you apparently missed it the first time) for FSU to coach under Bobby for an undetermined period of time before being named head coach? Nick Saban, Chip Kelley, Urban Meyers (Meyers? Who are you, Corrine Brown?), Brian Kelley, Chris Peterson, Steve Spurrier (cough), Dana Holgorsen, Bill Snyder, Les Miles, Bobby Petrino , Lane Kiffin, Bob Stoops ... and it's looking more and more like Muschamp too.
You are clearly an agenda-pumping fraud. The man has built a program here back out of the rubble. Bobby got an extra 7 years with 4-6 loss seasons. Jimbo has one loss this season and should be fired?
When will he field a top offense? How about this year? Top 14 offense nationally.
Does he get credit for bringing in the defensive staff? Mark Stoops gets all that credit as well?
The fact that you question Jimbo's IQ (and not rightfully his guts) is proof enough that you are a troll. He's considered one of the most intelligent football minds around.
How long has RichRod been gone? What is WVU up to these days?
You are conflicted by your allegiance to RichRod. Jimbo has more wins than your pal over the same period (even omitting Rich's time in the booth when he couldn't get a good HC gig), so I guess he can't be too bad.
That said, It is time to move on.
The play calling was just absurd in the second half. The inability to adjust to NCS's short game was glaring and the defense looked confused.
When will we open up the passing game and let EJ trust his instincts?
I know, blah,blah blah...
I think Jimbo needs to give the fans a few answers. Perhaps, he just doesn't have them.
I've already debunked your other myth (double digit favorite losses), so let me get this one out of the way. Seven years of 4-6 loss seasons is the same as our first and second 10 win seasons in the past decade? Those are the same?
Right. BB got 8-10 years of cruising with his buddies, doing jack, before he got forced out. Jimbo has one loss this season (albeit a very painful one) and people are calling for his head.
Clearly some people have something other than the success of this program in their hearts, because Jimbo has been more successful than the vast majority of college head coaches since he took over in nearly every measurable. OL has been a problem at times, I admit.
First he is not my pal, secondly you act like he took over some sort of juggernaut programs at Michigan and then Zona.
I don't even know why Richrod is being discussed, unless that is a deflection from the Pro-Jimbo crowd to divert attention.
By the way to the guy who said "He is still learning", how about he goes and learns at La Tech or somewhere like that?
I watched Larry fedora up close on Saturday, then Jimbo Fisher a few hrs later, there is no comparison, one guy is relaxed never shows any panic, solicits all input from his staff, and very calmly coaches his players up, to which they respond.
The other one...well...
Now there's a "pro-Jimbo crowd"? I'm pro-FSU. I don't care at all about Jimbo (though he seems like a nice enough guy) other than his ability to help this school. Didn't care about Bowden other than the same.
And, yes, Michigan is a juggernaut program. It's one of the richest and most storied universities in the country, with an enormous alumni base, a solid recruiting base, and resources out the butt. If you can't win at Michigan, you should quit (or go to Arizona).
Richrod is being brought up because you are questioning the hire of Jimbo, and Richrod is who you had a hardon for the entire process. Natural to compare the two. If FSU was wrong, so were you, and therefore we shouldn't give credence to your second-guessing. (noticed you ignored the success WVU has had since RR left).
I like Larry Fedora as a coach. No problem. We'll see if he can be as successful there as Jimbo has been here. They started in roughly the same place.
If Fedora loses a game in year three, it will be time to fire him, right?

BTW, Pben, since you like stats (even made up ones, apparently), you'll like this:
As a head coach, 2-0 against our two main rivals and undefeated in bowl games. Two of his first three seasons will be 10 win seasons (our last was nearly a decade ago).
Despite Jimbo's yelling on the sidelines, 1st round draft choice and 5 star QBs flock to play for him. The last guy he berated on the sideline repeatedly is winning games as a starter in the NFL.
So, the question remains... what's the real agenda here? Or is this a case of a fanbase with high expectations for this season crashing into histrionics after a tough loss? My guess is the latter.
Never seen anything like this. My 10 year old is more mature than many on here.
Michigan is NOT a juggernaut in the W/L column currently and Hoke won last yr with..hmmm whose players? Again the Richrod thing has nothing to do with the shortcomings of Jimbo Fisher you are trying to deflect (rather poorly at that) , and quite honestly I don't even know how nice a guy Fisher is, because he comes off as a bit of an ass to me, unless you think constantly cussing and yelling at your players is the proper way to go.
What is made up?
Does he not have 5 losses as a double digit favorite?
Yeah great he beat a down UF and a down Um 2 yrs running...(the offensive explosion against UF last yr, was something to behold, who wouldn't want to have more penalty yds than total yds).
And yes he is 2-0 in meaningless bowl games, if that is your expectation for your Pro-FSU football program, then Congrats!
I know of one 5 star qb that "flocked" to FSU since he has been here, and if he continues his antics, it will likely be the only one.
Keep going, this is like shark fishing in a water bucket, i am working from home, so i have all day.....
If Fisher can't get his issues fixed, who are the likely candidates FSU goes after? Holgerson, Fedora on the short list?
No, he doesn't. You heard that stat on some broadcast and, for the teams you cited, it isn't true. NCST in 2010 was a 3.5 point dog, not nearly double digits. When you say things that aren't true, the polite way to describe them is "made up."
Would you rather have a win with a shut down offense or a loss with 600 yards? As I'm sure I already know the answer, which is you want to win every game with 600 yards of offense and allow 50 yards on defense. Well, back here we live in what's called "reality."
My expectation is continued improvement from great (which is what I consider consistent 10 win seasons to be) to elite. If he doesn't get there in the next couple years, fine. But 3 years in, I expect that we would be a 10 or 11 win team with a chance at 12-14 wins. That's where we are.
As long as you ignore points that make you look silly and make up your own facts, then you should continue to feel like you're doing well.
Seems to me you're fishing for your rear and using your head as bait. A hint: you already caught it.

I will go back and look, but a fact is a fact. If it does not suit your stance, then you dispute it, human nature, pretty much what a politician does.
Jimbo Fisher was brought in here as an offensive coordinator, his most prolific offenses were quarterbacked by a guy he inherited, who he did not recruit, who ended up as a 1st rnd draft pick. So in order for his offense to be prolific he needs a first rnd qb to run it?
I cited the UF game from last yr, which we won based on what they did, not what we did (their qb play was directly responsible for that win).
Interesting quote I heard yesterday, "The ACC has a coach who can't win the big one in Frank Beamer, and a coach who can't win the little one in Jimbo Fisher". Fisher laments "Lack of execution", well whose job is it to make sure players execute plays properly (I suppose you are going to say mine....)
Again 5 times he has lost as a double digit favorite...5, I cited the teams from memory, so now if you like when I get time, I will correctly point out the 5, I had 4 right (assuming you are correct), not too shabby.
It is not even a Richrod thing, its a FSU should of hired a guy with Head Coaching experience thing, if we are this elite program, we should of had no shortage of people to interview.
That is the crux of my point, there is too much invested here for this to be some sort of "On the job" training program..
Let me save you some time:
*NCSU - 13 point favorite
Oklahoma - 3 point dog
Clemson - 2 point dog
*WFU - 13 point favorite
*Virginia - 17 point favorite
Oklahoma - 2 point underdog
NCSU - 3.5 point favorite
*UNC - 19.5 point favorite
Virginia Tech - 4 point dog
That's four games in 3 years. Boom. Still not good, but myth busted.

I agree with alot of your posts but losing 4 games in 2.5 years to double-digit dogs indicates a problem.
It's not like any of the 4 turned out to be badly under-rated as the seasons progressed.
I'd like to see how each performed in other games against teams with the same spreads.
Ok you busted me...it was 4 not 5...after reading what you posted, do you honestly feel better?
No, not really. But if we're pulling random stats out to use to show our frustration, I demand accuracy.
To Dub-B, I agree. Any way you slice it, that's a problem that needs to be addressed. I hope he does fix it, or he should go. I just don't think he should be fired this week. That seem irrational.
Watch the pettiness, guys.
The sideline antics. They are disgusting, unacceptable, they sow dissension, and they destroy players' confidence.
As I think about it, this has become the biggest issue for me.
I agree Fisher calls games awfully when he's not facing a scary team, but it's berating players that has me "done" with him, and yes, I think that loses us games.
I want him gone, for THAT reason. I used to love laughing at what a sourpuss Spurrier was, especially compared to the dignified Bowden.
Now we have Spurrier II without the offensive genius. I don't want my beloved university represented by that poisonous sourpuss tantrum crap.

Rich rod is brought up because it proves you have no clue what you are talking about. You'll do better on Warchant PBen. You have proven clueless time and time again.
PBen, the reason I think you're a garbage poster, is that you hated the Jimbo hire from day 1. You have been salivating for games like this, to prove your point. Instead of pulling for FSU, you'd rather crow about being right. That's sad.
It's very similar to your anti-Big 12...not in the best interest of FSU, but so that you can still watch the Noles in the Carolina-Virginia area. Disgusting. To the point where you spin the ND deal as good for the ACC. It's absolute garbage. However, you can still watch games....
Gawd forbid you buy season tickets and contribute to the program and take a few trips...

#14 Offense Nationally? This is such an academically dishonest fact to throw into the equation...
Whole picture = We acquired those stats mostly vs. 2 high school teams and Clemson (ranked 96 out of 120 in total defense)
The last 2 weeks, we played USF (#65 out of #120) and NC State (#58 out of #120).... and our offense looked anemic. At the end of the season, our offense will be #40-#60 range, exactly where it is every season he has been here.Very little has changed offensively, since Jeff Bowden.....Our defense is why we are winning more games.
And yes -- Stoops does get ALL OF THAT CREDIT. Jimbo has been here much longer than the 3 years he has been headcoach... and he has never produced a offense that rivals the defensive rating Stoops has put up.
No one in their right mind considers him one of the most intelligent football minds around... How long did it take Saban to turn Alabama around? How long did it take Urban to turn the Gators around? Great coaches DO NOT LOSE these types of games in their third season as head coach.
Time will tell brother... Just keep showing up so I can mock you the rest of Jeff Bowden's *ahem* Jimbo Fisher's time here... :-)
I sincerely hope I am wrong, and will be the first one to admit it, it I am... but given what we've seen over the past 3-years, there is no reason to be optimistic.
