Jimbo Fisher in 2 1/2 yrs has 5 losses when his team is favored by double digits.
It is disturbing. It indicates someone who does not maintain focus week in and out. hopefully we won't see it again for a while.
On the bright side, if the Mayans are right we only have to worry about 4-5 more times where we are double digit favorites then we are put out of our college football misery
that shows a lack of coaching and preparation. plain and simple. juniors and seniors should be properly motivated and know how to handle things. we handle success as well as a pack of 16 year olds handle finding a bunch of money and a keg of beer
FSU Ambassador to the masses
Find this hard to believe. I know we weren't favored against Oklahoma either year or against Virginia Tech in the ACC championship game. Or last year at Clemson, surely we weren't double digit favored or against Carolina in 2010.
This. I crack up at people who think we can salvage the season and go 12-1 like Jimbo miraculously all of a sudden will learn how to stop blowing games where he has a way more talented team.
2010: NCSU, UNC
2011: WF, UVA
When he took over, we were losing 5 a year and were rarely favored by two touchdowns. It's one loss. It hurts bad, but if you don't see major improvement in this program top to bottom in his tenure, then you are pumping an agenda.
He's got things to fix, absolutely, but name me another coach we could have gotten to come in an play OC for an undetermined period of time under a waning legend, dig the program out of the mud while carrying extra anchors, and then step right in as a HC. Name one.

Let me ask you this....I did not want this guy, I think I made that clear long ago, but once hired I hopped onboard, so we replaced our legend of a coach, of 30+ yrs, with a guy who worked his way into the HCIW job by basically holding us hostage, you do remember his almost taking the WVU job, right?
A guy I might add, that has NEVER been a HC anywhere, a guy who is supposed to be an offensive guru, but in the games that were listed, his offense was offensive.
Cuthbert, why would you expect us to give this guy the same benefit of the doubt, we gave Bobby Bowden?
But you did want RichRod........our offense may have benefited, but I think the D takes a hit.
Even if your fed up w/ Jimbo now, like i am, we should appreciate that he has put us back in the National spotlight for good reasons, upgraded the weightlifting program, upgraded the talent, and installed an infrastructure the program lacked for many years.
The other common denominator? These all were close games in which FSU choked. Losing consistently in tight games is 100% on the coaching staff.
I remain a believer in the program Coach Fisher has put together, but the punt block at the end of the NCST game was inexcusable given that the same thing happened the previous week.

FSU Football. Making cool the new swag since 2013.
We also lost 6 games in Bobby's last season alone.
Yup, things just haven't gotten better at all....
Stoops deserves some heat also.. In 4 of the 5 games we had the lead with less the 5 minutes to play and gave it up...
Pben so are you done with Jimbo? what are others around the program saying? who would be interested in the FSU job if Fisher can't get it done?
If we do make a coaching change, I hope we get someone who has been a head coach. The real question is; who, that we could really afford, would make the fanbase excited? I'm having a hard time thinking of anyone.
Jimbo has made improvements to the program but he still needs to work out some issues. Like yall said, this is his first head coaching job. Does he need to spread out some of responsibilities? Most likely. Is he failing miserably? No. He is 24-9 as a head coach who inherited a program who went 7-6 3 of the previous 4 seasons which is a 73% win percentage. Even in the ACC, that aint too shabby when you factor in EVERYONE circling FSU on the calendar each season for us being over hyped or just hate (UF, CU, UM). The guy is undefeated in against the state of Florida ffs.
One day people say that no program EVER will return to the level that Bobby had us at. The next, they want to fire the guy for losing 17-16. Jimbo is a smart guy, a hard worker and dedicated. He has also had to deal with family issues.
I'm still on the Jimbo wagon even though I know he needs to step his game up in certain areas.

Jimbo was awful the other night, but you can't blame him for the OL struggles. The OLine has proven over the last 4 games that they're very good at rush blocking and god-awful at pass protection. That's not on Jimbo; that's on Trickett and his players. Special teams has been awful lately too. Two blocked punts? No punt return game to speak of? A FG slump by DHop? This is not on Jimbo, but on Gran and his boys. Stoops has also proven to be as conservative, stubborn, and ineffective as Jimbo. And before this game everybody was wondering if Hudson could coach at all.
The entire staff has been poor this year.
The biggest sin imo re. the NCST game was not the horrible playcalling, but the lack of fire in the players' bellies. They played hard, but with very little intensity. They seemed unprepared emotionally to play a tough game on the road (yes, ALL road games are tough, even against a subpar team). I think they took the Wolfpack for granted. The offense looked shocked as shit when they couldn't move the ball, and the defense looked at a complete loss when Glennon was picking them apart. That's on Jimbo.
The one thing I've realized about him is that he has zero humility. he's done wonderful things for this program, but if he doesn't accept responsibilty and show a willingness to change (eg hire an OC), he'll be out of a job.

"I never knew I had a foot until I noticed it was on your neck"
pben, you wanted richrod who got fired and caught for NCAA violations at his last stop where the Mi program is still suffering 2 years after he is gone to recover from the damage he did. Hard to take anything you say seriously.
We would be farther along with rich rod as coach and you can be damn sure that we don't take the air of the the ball 10 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Maybe our d would not as good-who knows?
As to the upgrades, those are fair points but any coach worth their salt would have the same upgrades. They were obvious necessities. Most of you would be terrified of you saw how dysfunctional this program was under Bowden after 2001.

Should have hired Rich Rod right? Get lost.....
Hmm... I'll give it a try.
Nick Saban, Chip Kelley, Urban Meyers, Brian Kelley, Chris Peterson, Steve Spurrier (cough), Dana Holgorsen, Bill Snyder, Les Miles, Bobby Petrino (cough), Lane Kiffin, Bob Stoops ... and it's looking more and more like Muschamp too.
Hell -- Mark Stoops would make a better head coach, when you take results into the equation... He's already proved he can field a top 10 defense for several years in a row... Wake me up, when Jimbo field a top 10 offense.
In truth, we could have drawn a name out of the hat and the vast majority of people you drew could have produced these same exact results. FSU is a top destination program.... We need a high IQ coach to go along with it....
Our recruiting is going to start severely falling off as recruits realize this guy is a fraud.
when exactly did this happen?
