The Wilder thread got me thinking, are there any possible changes other than Dan Hicks moving back to DE? I'm to the point where I expect that one to happen and will be disappointed if it doesn't.
How about trade Karlos for Wilder? haha
-Karlos to WLB
-Hick to DE
Would 2 I would guess on
I honestly forgot Hicks existed, and forget even now why he missed the year ? But yeah, he should definitely move back to DE.
I know Chad Abram is our FB, but i doubt we will be using a FB in the sense that we did with Lonnie. Maybe move him to LB ? He came in as a Safety.
Hicks tore his ACL. Abrams needs to stay at FB, we'll need him in GL and short yardage
I think Abram will be used at FB, jmo
Los to lb is a smart call. I think Colin Blake is a situation to watch for. Dies he nice there, how does he do? I think he's a potential All ACC safety
Hicks had micro fracture surgery on his knee, not to long ago you didn't come back from it. Would think he would move back to DE, he backed up BJ in 2010 reasonably well. Think Karlos will play both next year depending on the package

Could christian green ever play db?
I actually heard some stuff at the end of the year that the coaches were thinking at moving Derrick Mitchell to OT, but I don't think it has been mentioned since. There was some suggestions when he was being recruited that he would be a good OL prospect as well. I personally don't think we should keep moving our DTs to OT.

Well, if they're buried on the depth chart I have no issue with it. If he can help us on offense rather than sitting on the bench, I'm all for it. We just need to make sure we fill those voids on the recruiting trail. LSU has moved several DTs to their Oline, fwiw.

IMHO I could see Newberry and Mitchell to OT depending on if we retain Bellamy, Hollin and get Bowers at DE to go along with Walker and Bryant at DT.
I agree. I think that Trickett is a good OL coach, but we have pretty much scrambled each year in recruiting the position and I think it has shown on the field with inconsistent OL play and a system where we don't ever have much depth. Moving Mitchell would leave us 6 returning DTs and most likely Keith Bryant. It would be ok for next year, but the following year we would return Goldman, NLS, Shanks, and Bryant ( I think Jernigan goes pro early).
Moving Newberry still leaves us light on at DE (5), especially in terms of experience; we would be returning one DE with playing time. Plus, Newberry is about 30 lbs too light and we would have more lineman than most teams carry at oline with those two moves.
One other issue is numbers, believe it or not. We are only losing 3 olineman this year and we have 3 committed. Ideally, teams carry between 15-17 olineman and right now, we would have 15 (and we're still looking to add 1-2 more commitments).
Los should move to Fullback. Who doesn't want a fullback that can run 22MPH?
There always seems to be at least 2 olineman who don't make it through the off-season since Trickett has been the coach. I wouldn't expect this year to be any different.
With the new defensive staff we are going to see a lot more looks then the straight up 4-3 we have been successful with for years... You will see some hybrid stuff and a bunch of disguised packages.... I think Los is going to be a major part of it... You could put him at OLB in a 3-4 and have him come off the edge..... walk him into the box on a 4-3 and blitz or peel off and cover the TE.... He could play the "jack" in a 46.... FSU is going to need a few guys who can play multiple positions....
Who else fits this mold? We show base 4-3 and then roll Joyner up to CB and run cover 1........
With the above said....all I care about is winning!
I hope your joking...
Yep. That's where the additional 1-2 commitments come into play. We always planned to take another tackle, but now it's two with Watson leaving.
I would expect Orelus and Faircloth to graduate and not be on the team. Who knows about Pettis...
Scalp 'Em Seminoles!!!
Move Jernigan to RT. No one, and I mean no one does better take downs.
Ok, this thread is getting a little "out there." Karlos to FB!? Jernigan to RT!? Newberry to OL!? Abram to S!? I assume ya'll are joking.
Newberry has to stay at DE because we're so thin there.
Abrams is a FB, our only one.
Los could and SHOULD move to LB. Full-time.
I'd love to see Wilder at LB, as well. However, we're a little thin at TB. I suppose he could play both ways.
Hicks should move back to DE.
Christian Greene at DB? Interesting thought.
"I never knew I had a foot until I noticed it was on your neck"
Kelvin Benjamin to QB imo
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or it may last a year. But eventually, it will subside. If i quit, however it will last forever.
both him and newberry. I think both have said no. I know Newberry said no. That is one way to build up the ol.
These are seriously NOT serious.
