Chris and I posted last week, "do not be surprised if the media starts bringing up Jimbo's name for the Auburn job".
Like clockwork, it started this week. We do NOT expect Jimbo to even interview let alone take the job at Auburn.
For the latest recruiting scoop follow me on twitter: https://twitter.com/joshnewberg247
If he has been quoted saying auburn was his dream job, I want to see the link... because im calling your bullshit. You are absolutely making that up.
I've been quoted by Newberg.
I have arrived..............
I already asked for it....it never appeared.
How do you think Stockstill could recruit at FSU? Mullen was not choice #1 at UF because he is not a good recruiter.
Rich rod with a Fla Talent base would be unstoppable. I don't think he would leave Zona after one year.
I think the jury is still out on Franklin. I admit by the times he proves himself he my cost too much money to get here.

Stock would be a lights out recruiter at FSU.When he was the recruiting coordinator at Clemson,he was constantly getting top talent out of Fl,the Jax area in particular. His Dad coached Fernandina Beach for years after being a college coach and his brother,Jeff was a WR on the 81 MNC Clemson team.
I agree Coley would be a candidate down there, but with the season FIU is having, it would be one heck of a tough sell for any AD to try and sell hiring Cristobal to the fans.
By the way, could there be any more obvious ploy for a raise than suddenly rumors of Jimbo Fisher to Auburn popping up? Sexton is shameless. The right approach for FSU is to tell Jimbo if it really comes down to money, Auburn seems to have more of it, so best of luck to you and hope you don't get fired by whichever booster ends up in control in 3 years and end up having to go back to work for Nick or maybe trying to rebuild your career at, say, Louisiana-Lafayette. I fear the actual result, however, is that Sexton will once again terrorize a school into giving a stupid extension/raise/buyout to a coach.
By the way, keep in mind the new NCAA rule that holds head coaches responsible for rules violations in their program. Thus, any coach needs to be acutely aware of what kind of environment or culture of compliance they might step into.

I will stop contributing to boosters immediately if FSU is stupid enough to give Jimbo a raise. FSU needs to let him go if they try that crap this year. Imagine what Rich Rodriguez could do with Coker and Winston at QB with all the talent we have. I wouldnt have to watch the boring I formation run up the middle every play getting stuffed again atleast.
Jimbo will get a raise If we win the ACC and a BCS bowl .
hire a guy that has a history of losing to teams with less talent to replace a guy that loses to teams with less talent
Why would USF replace Holtz with Mario Cristobal who is 1-8 ??
USF needs a coach from the SEC

I am not sure about recruiting. Another poster pointed out how good he was at Clemson. I cannot disagree, but he's also in hi mid 50's now, and it's a different ballgame. He's been entrenched in the Carolina area for YEARS now, and I honestly have NO Idea how he'd respond.
I think Rich Rod would leave. Money talks.
The jury IS still out on Franklin to an extent, but IMO he seems like a high risk/high reward type of hire. It may be worth getting to him now. He's obviously worked hard to established local relationships in the area, his team looks VERY good in relation to the talent level (Currently destroying UK), and the bidding war has not yet begun.
I mean, he cannot be worse than Dooley. Troy is putting an ass whipping on UT hat home as I type. Pathetic.
Still, l DO love me some Rick Stockstill. I have talked to him a couple of times. He loves Florida State, and the guy is a hard worker. Additionally, he's a good guy.
I was just using that as an example of how the coaching carousel works. I wasn't saying I think USF should, or would, go after Mario.
Stockstill here, would be similar to the new Rutgers coach, lifetime dream come true, puts it all in for 5-8 yrs.
Oh sure..NOW everyone is on the RichRod train.......I kid, I kid.
Hahaha. I wasn't a member here when FSU was undergoing the coaching search, so I wouldn't know about the preference. I do think that he' a terrific coach, but needs a good "fit". Michigan obviously wasn't it.
He wanted the FSU job in 2007, there was strong sentiment Bobby would step down, but he hired Jimbo instead.
You are right, Michigan was a huge mistake, his offense with our players would make Oregon look pedestrian.
Rich Rod with access to upper tier Fla talent...
