I only have knowledge within the ACC and SEC, don't know squat about the B12, B10 or BE.
ACC (10 most likely being open, 1 least likely)
Everywhere else looks to be solid, for another yr, UMD will excuse Edsall due to a lot of bad luck injury wise. UVA is going the distance with London, and VT is married to Beamer like we were to Bowden.
SEC is a different story:
Auburn- 9 look for them to fire Chiznik right after the iron Bowl, the tricky issue is he has (depending on who you believe) a 5-7.5 mill buyout, now even a high profile SEC school is not going to willingly swallow that...Petrino is the frontrunner here, by far.
Arkansas-7, this is going to be interesting, i think their first call is to Charlie Strong.
UK-8..I dont know who would want this ball of crap job
UGA- 4, once again the Fightin Richts save him the heat of an offseason coaching witchhunt
Tennessee-7, and no the new guy will not be Jon Gruden (WTF is this guy mentioned for every job?) former Nole Rick Stockstill is right up the road at MTSU, and has done a very good job there considering, but that would actually make sense and this is afterall UT we are talking about.
Anyone else got any scoop?
UM - 4 I don't expect him to be leaving, but if Golden is offered a job like Arkansas there is no way he turns it down.
For the latest recruiting scoop follow me on twitter: https://twitter.com/joshnewberg247
UGA should be a 0. UGA is 5 wins away from the national championship, 4 of which will be cake-walks (Ole Miss, Auburn, Georgia Southern and GT).
Auburn could finish the season with one win against UL-Monroe who beat Arkansas.
Yeah i screwed that up...I should of made them a 1.
Josh, I think you are right on that.
I think David Cutcliffe is going to get a call from Tennessee. Bill O'Brien will be a hot commodity after the job he's done at Penn State.
Gruden is mentioned for every job because Gruden runs his mouth about every job. He runs it non stop the moment he starts sucking down beers, whether that's on the links at Hooters.
Did you watch THEIR offense?
There are NO cakewalks.
Cal - 8
USC - 8..........if they lose to Oregon, ND or UCLA. Rumor has been that Haden was waiting till sanctions were over anyway, doesn't care for Kiffin.
Arkansas is a 10-No chance Smith is given a shot to keep his job.
as to gt-I think Johnson gets another year.
As to Tenn, I could see Golden giving that job a serious look.
As to Auburn-who would want that job-yeah, they will overpay an hc but you are in a very tough neighborhood-the SEC west with UGa as your crossover game. You are the red headed step child in a state with little talent. Your rival has the best college hc in a generation.
As to recruiting, You will have very little success in the Fla. Panhandle because of Bama, FSU and UF. In Georgia marginal recruiting success because of UGA, FSU, UF, Tenn and Clemson. Tenn has similar issues but they are the 800 lb gorilla in their state.
THat leads to reaches and what they have now-40% of their signees not being in school by time they would be juniors.
The tigger fan base does not have a realistic outlook of its place in the food chain.
Both Ark and Tenn are better to much better jobs.
as ky, who does want that job-Petrino wants it if he can get it.
I have heard Butch Jones' name bantied about for the Tenn job (at least being on the short list).

I don't think Kiffen lasts either. But he will leave a talented team behind.
Sure, but I've also seen 3 of those 4 remaining teams play. They are all very, very bad teams, but Ole Miss could jump up and bite them. I do think Alabama will steam roll them in Atlanta. Georgia's offense isn't as bad as it looked against UF. UF's defense is without question a top-5 unit nationally. UGA's offense has been very good this year (460 ypg and 37 ppg), it's their defense that's been the problem.
How in the hell is Tedford supposed to win when kids are living in the trees blocking you from upgrading your facilities? I know, they have been removed but it is probably tough getitng to sell kids when that stuff is going on outside the stadium.
Losing Lupoi didn't help from a talent standpoint but it isn't like Tedford just forgot how to coach.
As to kiffen, he does not strike me as a Haden type guy. That said, Haden is cautious and will wait until he has a great hc lined up which won't be this year because of all the openings in the SEC.
I could see Haden actually making a run a Golden at some point or maybe make a run a Sarkisian. IMHO Sark is a risk b/c udub should have recovered more from Willingham than it has by now. However, Sark has a great staff with Wilcox right now.
I could also see making a run at D'antonio.
Colorado should fire (but probably won't) Embree. Nice guy. good position coach but had no business getting a bcs level hc job.
Yeah, but that doesn't mean anyone seriously wants him...well da U did, but he won't want that mess.
Petrino is going to Auburn for a few reasons, one like I said Chiznik is gonna get paid big $$$ to go away, and Petrino can be had on the cheap right now. Also Auburn has board members that have wanted Petrino there for yrs, they wont care about his personal bs.
UK is going to have to really sell that job to anyone worth a crap, because the focus there has and always will be hoops.
Auburn is AWFUL. AWFUL and more AWFUL That is a cakewalk. so is GT. Ole miss sucks. maybe not a cakewalk but an easy win.
Would Petrino really get a major college job so soon? I figured he'd have to go to a smaller school for a year or two before a big time program made an investment on him.
Would UK be willing to pay someone North of 2 million? If so, someone will come for the money.
As to Auburn, Petrino knows it will be harder to win there than it was in Ark. I could see Cal. He would go crazy with access to West coast qb's and wr's. His affair would not offend nearly as many in the fan base as it will at an sEc school.
However, I thought Tedford has a huge buyout. Cal has the money-I just don't think they will spend it like an SEC school will spend it on a buyout.
FWIW, I have also heard Ark. will look at D'antonio. Personally, i do not think he is a good fit there. I would go with Strong or Davis.
They looked woeful against SC too.
Tedford does have a good sized buyout.
Cal would never, ever hire Petrino.
We did against NC St. It happens, btu when you beat the #2 team, you'll move up.
Willie Taggart could be a good hire for Kentucky since he is already at a basketball school in Western Kentucky and beat Kentucky this year

I have been wondering if Golden would take a B1G job if it were to come open, like Iowa or Purdue for instance. Ferentz has been at Iowa for a while, so he might not quite be on the hotseat. Just kinda thinking out loud.
I admit i do not know much about Kiffin, except he never seems to leave anywhere on good terms.
I have no inside knowledge on this but I think he would get a shot next year especially to a desperate team looking to rebound quick.
Auburn is a desperate team looking to rebound quick. Two years after winning the MNC they are looking at a 2-10 season. Keep in mind it could be worse as ULM took them to Overtime.
They have had the fastest fall that I have ever seen and Alabama is a juggernaut right now that is set up to be dominant for years to come.
Also I really don't think Auburn cares about having there program perceived in clean light by the public. We all know they paid Newton to be there and for that national championship.
USC is a better job than any upcoming SEC opening.
USC also has its new facility opening up and would be a good time for a change.
USF will open up too. This one scares me because I think they will look to Stoops.
