1. ol coach Grimes at Auburn. He can get enough high quality kids to come play for him.
2. Dana Bible NC St, as oc-won't happen, but is a very good oc.
3. Tedford as OC-not a bad recruiter either.
I am sure there are others but those come to mind right now.
If stoops leaves, then
1. Steele as a position coach-even if Hudson stays-he can coach de's b/c eliot will leave with Stoops.
Adds a heavyweight recruiter to the staff with Florida connections. Clemson's presence has fallen off since he left.
2. Chizik as DC-he was a very good one and can recruit very well.
I know there are many others to add to this list.
We really need an OC and OL coach. I am tired of saying it. Nothing will change this offseason anyway.
"A Seminole warrior killed in battle is a legend remembered. A Gator lost in battle becomes a pair of boots and a belt. "
Prolly Chaney at UT
Ha, I think everyone knows you have a massive man crush on that guy. Im not sold. No ties to the southeast and he is a co-coordinator. At that a running game coordinator (the same position Briles 1st made his mark with at TTU) at a school that lives with the passing game.
Bloomgren is a Nole that is a Tally native and graduated from FSU and was a UGA for Bowden. Masters from Bama and was a GA there. NFL experience and coaches the Run game and Oline at a smash mouth school. Respectfully I thinks its a no brainer.
You need an ol coach with a compatible scheme and that can get Stanford level ol's here-Trickett doesn't fill the bill for either
We don't really need ties to the southeast, like we are currently having problems in that area. If Stoops is gone, and takes Eliot with him, we need a guy with relationships in Texas. I don't have a man crush, he just seems like an obvious choice (I have a man crush on Willie Taggart because we talk from time to time and I want to see him succeed, I'd love to see him at FSU). Bloomgren is a running game coordinator as well, I don't see your point on that. I think you have a lot better chance pulling a guy away from Baylor than you do Stanford with the roll they are on right now. Harbaugh changed the perception of that job, and it is now very desirable.

Get rid of both tricketts and let Winston coach the o line and start next year
Like I said both are run game coordinators but Stanford is a smash mouth running team while the run is second fiddle at Baylor. Clements followed Briles from Houston so there is a connection there. It would be much easier to get a guy with a Tally and FSU upbringing and familiarity to the football program. Sure we dont necessarily need SE ties but they sure as hell dont hurt. As for Texas we never go there nor ever need to.
Some of those guys like the guys from Auburn will be getting paid by Auburn for years to do nothing. I like Steele as a LB coach, he really got our guys flying to the ball.
Yeah, Texas has been bad to us over the years, with the likes of Mario Edwards, Dustin Hopkins, Christian Ponder and Mister Alexander, not to mention our dynasty years that had quite a few Texas players on them. Also, Texas is a hot bed for college QB's, they are the most well prepared as a group than any other area, and the OL coming out of Texas isn't bad either. 1/3 of the starting QB's in the NFL are from Texas, you don't just ignore one of the biggest hotbeds in the country.
And Baylor has 4 guys with over 100 carries (one of those the QB, which plays right into Coker and Winston's strengths), 2 of the guys over 700 yards, running back by committee, just the way Jimbo likes it, not 1 workhorse. They are nearly 50/50 in their play calling (423 pass, 475 rush), just because they make big plays through the air doesn't make them a one dimensional pass first offense.
Edwards and Ponder were legacies Alexander was a 3 star that UT didnt recruit and kickers normally go to were they can play right away. You might need both hands to count the number of major recruits we have ever got away from that state that had a Longhorn offer.
Im clearly not gonna convince you and you're not gonna convince me. So, agree to disagree.
