Jimby the Fishman said it best a good while back. Something about having to learn how to play on the road - well away from home territory. It's a new experience - learning how to take care of one's self in a strange and altered environment.
Little story. About all I knew how to do when I went off to college, was balance my check book (that's cause there was never triple-digits in it for several years) and put gas in my VW doodlebug. My GF showed me how to do laundry - if I paid for hers too, but when it came to cooking ...... well, let's just say I blew up a hot plate and started a failed tomato soup fire in my dorm room. I existed for about 3 weeks on a loaf of stale bread and one of those jars that has the peanut butter and grape jelly swirled around each other in the same container. YUCK. I have to run by that crap in the grocery store even 38 years later. When I went home for that first Xmas, Mom asked me what I wanted or needed. "A cookbook and some lessons!" was my heart's desire!
This JWJr stuff is silly IMO but we will see what, if anything, comes out of it.
I hope what is being said in this thread about Pender isn't true. Would be very surprising to say the least.
Give me a team full of Scooter Haggins, Timmy Jernigans, Kenny Shaws, and Ronald Darbys. Those kids want to play and love to play.
I would MUCH rather have a 2*/3* who works his ass off (Hudson, Ponder) than a 5* who doesn't care (Rouse, etc., etc., etc.)
RE JWJ- does he not have counsel? If not, he should. I realize it's a stupid thing and most of us would never let it slip by (an appearance), but we've seen time and time again where players get caught up in this crap. If they have an attorney, it is their job to make damn sure all of these little things remain little.
The Future is Now.
JWJ is a great kid he is just dumb as a bag of hammers when it comes to legal matters. He had the unfortunate incident with shoving an officer when they were arresting his belligerant GF but other then that it all stems from the dude basically not understanding what a court date is.
True, he IS a good kid. That's what makes the stupid shite he does so frustrating!
