Spent the 90's and early 00's watching Penn State/Ohio State dominate the polls. Two storied franchises, with good coaches...in the perfect conference, for causing unwarranted hype... who would likely get beat to death vs. any team Florida had to offer... but they didn't have to worry about that... because they NEVER had to play anyone legit.
So many years, I was relegated to hoping these overrated teams would choke vs. the likes of Purdue, Wisconsin, and Northwestern. So many years of listening to Beano Cook trumpet how great these awful teams were on ESPN. Just when I was getting used to the Big10 being irrelevant and overrated, Ohio State's vegas odds were released today... and they found themselves tied for 2nd with Texas Tech for odds to win the title @ 13/2 odds.
So dissapointed. This team is painfully overrated. I have little doubt that in 2013, FSU, Clemson, and Miami would all demoralize them. As much as people hate the BCS, I still think it was an improvement to the idiots who voted for those undefeated Penn State/Ohio State teams over 1-loss FSU/Miami/UF teams.
Part of the Big 10 by-laws = must lay down vs. our undefeated team. When the playoffs start, like clockwork.... the Big10 is going to cost someone a trip to the playoffs. Then get their asses handed to them, by real competition.

Big 10 from here on out = Notre Dame 2012.
At no point was Notre Dame worthy of being the #2 team in 2012, because if they played against teams #3-#8, Vegas would have #3-8 favored heavily.
Texas A&M, Oregon would have beat Notre Dame senseless... yet we ended up with Notre Dame vs. Alabama... and they performed painfully predictably.
If your not familiar with the curse of the Big10, prepare yourself. They will have (1) annoying overrated team, which equates to a first round bye for their opponent, EVERY SINGLE YEAR of the playoffs.
Great post. Include Michigan on that list for sure.

The Big 10 is overrated. Always. I hate that garbage conference.
"I never knew I had a foot until I noticed it was on your neck"
Unfortunately, living up in B1G country, I am forced to watch lots if it. Lack of athletes especially on the DL.
OSU has always been overrated, but the difference is now they have the best coach in CFB not name Nick Saban..
Try living in Columbus...great city minus Tosu.
It's all about being in a bcs conference and knocking down all the pins that are in front of you. How good you are is somewhat secondary.
It's not as bad now with Braxton Miller there, by that I mean they're not quite as overrated as usual. I think they would have given Bama a much better game last year than ND did not that that is saying much.
