We have Cam, Hart, and possibly Golson on the roster at OT for 2013.
I assume Kirkland is being recruited for RT. We know Tunsil is being recruited as a LT, but we'll see there.
We need 2 OTs besides Golson in this class. Kirkland and a JUCO? Is this correct? Seems like the weakest link on this team...
Scalp 'Em Seminoles!!!
I agree. OL and DL win games.
I have a feeling we could see Matius move to RT and have a combination of stork, Hart, Barron starting at those 2 interior spots.
Many think Hart is better suited for an interior spot rather than a tackle.
How about this?
ERVING, JACKSON, BARRON, STORK, MATIAS.

Trickett has fielded 6'2 tackles before. No telling where people play.
Orelus played some OT, he wasn't bad if I remember. Faircloth is another OT. Kirkland will end up at OG, from what I saw in the All-Star games he's just not quick enough to be on the outside, he got destroyed..
You can field a 5'10 OT as well.....doesn't mean he can play.
Oreleus was brutal at OT. Can you play him there? Sure....will you beat anybody decent with him there? No.
OT depth is another Trickett fail.
His OL can't pick up short yardage situations on a regular basis after 6 years or so of him.
Are there BODIES there? Sure.....is the depth quality? Not even close. But at this point, it is on Jimbo now. Attrition of any sort isn't an acceptable excuse......FSU simply fails to recruit affectively at this position......Stevie Wonder can see it....why doesn't Jimbo?
Just don't think Orelus or Faircloth will be on the team next fall...
There's Sterling Lovelady. He must've been 6'2 250 when we accepted his commitment in HS. Unreal.
I hope Ryan Hoefeld isn't another one like that.
Guys who max out at 275 but are tough as nails, know their assignments, get after it, work real hard and graduate are totally worth signing as depth. The problem is when you are depending on them to start I think.
Matius might be a fine RT, the problem is that we are having to consider moving him there at all. We are at a point of knowing that a Lovelady/Cloth type is gonna have to start for us, and just deciding where we want our weak point to be--guard or tackle.
Or, if we do have a pro-type talent at that position, we know it will have to be either a pure freshman (Tunsil or Golson, if we are lucky enough to get either) or a converted DL, yet again.
I guess it doesn't need repeating that our OL recruiting is subpar and will always be subpar, though.
I think signing Lovelady makes a lot of sense. It's needing him to start that doesn't.
Lovelady is our future center, and you don't want your center to be 6'6. 6'2 300 pounds is perfect for the center position. Maybe we should be looking at high school DT's that can move well. Erving proves that they can make very good OT's in college.
Lovelady is a 290 lb rs freshman. Believe Tom said Hoefield is 280.
Wait one second, why is Lovelady considered a weekness? He's a rs fr.
Yeah, sure. I will agree with that. I'm just more generally addressing the point that we are crazy to sign 250-lb linemen who are still good football players. I think it's a quality signing.
No to Newberry. He was asked to go to to the ol and said no. Ditto for Mitchell. It is not realistic to expect to cure our ol personnel issues by recruiting kids as dl's and moving them to the ol. It will also hurt dl recruiting in the long term because kids will not trust us.
As to 6'2" tackles. They typically exist out of necessity and not preference because of wingspan issues. Also, not generally known. but it is my understanding Barron played as a Freshman because Jimbo did not want to burn Lovelady's redshirt. However those are interior issues and our bigger future issues are at tackle.

I'm pretty sure Lovelady is going to be a true junior. Carter and Pettis(if you want to count him) are the only two in that class that took a shirt.
We've done pretty well moving DT's to OL here. Not only Cam, but Ryan McMahon and both Tre and Ruben Carter were recruited as DT's by some schools. Generally DT's have more athleticism than your typical OL, which bodes well in Trickett's zone scheme. That being said, I'm hoping we use some more Pistol formation this year and maul people with more man schemes with traps and pulls.
Lovelady wasn't 250 and neither was Hoefiled.
You're right. For some reason I thought he redshirted as a freshman. He's a sophomore and he'll be 300 lbs next year..
Just listen to the names you guys are throwing around, and are hoping they will contribute. The OL is a situation every year, and If this isnt fixed it will be the reason Jimbo is let go.
