All I know from our fans is he must be very, very aggressive (killer instinct, bro). Not sure what that means.
Can someone post a candidate that would make our fans happy?
"It's not the SEC conference vs. the ACC conference," "It's Florida State vs. Auburn." --Lamarcus Joyner
I would like a Big 12 coach. I think Trickett should retire if we want our offense to take that next step.

The guys in Big 12 know there Offense. I am hoping for a high powered OC.
lol that's a running joke I post his name every time this question comes up..
Might have something to do with none of them knowing defense
Bloomgren would be perfect if Trickett hangs 'em up.
Scalp 'Em Seminoles!!!
Wow I knew that guy like 20 years ago. Had no idea he was in coaching.
It'll be fun to speculate, but when it comes down to it, the candidates are probably Dawsey, Craig and Trickett.
Because Jimbo doesn't need a real OC?
Highly doubt it. He already made that mistake with Coley.
Agreed. The only way we get an experienced oc is if Jimbo is relinquishing play call duties, imo. Why would someone come here otherwise?
I've seen it hinted that he might think about it but thinking about it after a tough loss and actually doing it are entirely different things. And if he is going to do it why not give Coley a shot and keep one of our better recruiters on staff. I'd assume Coley would rather be a real oc at FSU than kentucky.
Is it possible Jimbo keeps cooley and let's him call the plays? I think losing him to Kentucky would be a huge blow to recruiting.
This is not meant in any kind of derogatory or facetious way and would really appreciate the answer... but how was Coley a mistake?
It doesn't appear to me like he was really given a shot at FSU and Stoops apparently thinks highly enough of him to offer him the oc job at kentucky. I agree that Dawsey, Craig and Trickett would be poor oc candidates since none of them have ever been an oc before (believe Coley had been).
I haven't yet seen a candidate that is "aggressive" enough. Also, they need to be higher ranked than we are currently (19th) and very good against tough defenses.
Chip Kelly would be a good candidate if he were available. Have yet to hear of our fans being consistently impressed with any other offense.
Trickett should be FORCED to hang it up. He has not produced.
I disagree that they need to be ranked higher than we are in total offense.
Our stats are majorly inflated vs some of the weakest competition in the country.
VT/UF are more indicative of what our offense would do against above average defenses.
pro-style, so he would fit under Jimbo

I think you need to reread his posts in this thread, but amplify the snark by about 62%.
He's being quite funny if you catch what he's really saying.
But then again, I majored in Snark, and double minored in IDGAF & accounting (hey, you've gotta have something to fall back on).
Any comic fans out there, check out Tart, written by a Seminole Grad, who is incidentally... me.
Given me and Cuth's history, I am never sure if he is being funny or not.
I should have paid more attention to the Chip Kelly comment though, which I am just now noticing.
Not guilty y'all got to feel me
OC candidate: Jim Chaney @ Tennessee. He's kind of lame ducking now and his offense was #2 in SEC this season.
Even the last to my party gets a seat.
In all seriousness, I don't know of any offense that would meet the requirements our fans have had this year other than Oregon (except against Standford this year and LSU last year).
Certainly we don't want Bloomgren (who seems like a good guy) when his offense (co-coordinator, is it really his offense?) is barely top 50 in opponent-adjusted offense. For reference, we are top 30 currently (adjusted for strength of opponent) and our offense is utterly pathetic.
Precisely. He never gave Coley a chance and I think there was a reason for that. Coley needs to prove himself elsewhere, not learn at a place like fsu. I don't think fisher would be comfortable with anyone but a highly qualified and proven oc call plays.
I guess the question then becomes ... Will Jimbo hire a proven guy? Meaning is he willing to give up play call duties and hire a true oc or is he just going to hire another oc in name only (if Coley leaves)?
Also I just figured that the reason Coley wasn't given a shot was b/c Jimbo wanted control of play call duties and not b/c Coley wasn't qualified or couldn't do it successfully. Obviously this could be incorrect but that was always the way it was presented.
