    White Knuckle

WOW is really the only way you can describe Rashad Greene's 39 yard TD pass on a slant with :40 seconds remaining to give the Seminoles a 26-22 win over the Hokies. The 8 play, 86 yard TD drive was a defining moment in the career of both Greene and senior QB EJ Manuel. It was the first game-winning TD pass on the final drive of the game for the Seminole signal caller in his FSU career. For Manuel, who was sacked five times, the senior managed to engineer an eight play TD drive where he threw the ball seven times. The drive put him over 300 yards in the game and gave him his third game with 300 passing yards this season and the fifth in his career. For Greene it marked the second time in his career he has caught two TDs in a game and it was also his first 100 yard receiving game of the season and just the second of his career.

    Gotta Run The Ball?

The old adage that you have to run the ball to win games is one FSU Head Coach Jimbo Fisher has embraced at FSU and the results have shown as the Seminoles entered tonight's game with the NCAA's 14th best rushing offense. That is why the -15 yards rushing posted by FSU is astonishing. Coincidentally, the two worst rushing games for FSU since 1973 have both been wins. In 2006 FSU rushed for 1 yard in a win over UM and then tonight's victory over Virginia Tech.

    What A Three Game Run

Tyler Hunter recorded his second interception of the game to seal FSU's comeback victory over the Hokies Thursday night as Virginia Tech attempted to drive for a last ditch winning score. It was the third interception for Hunter in his first season seeing significant action on the defense. Hunter's first career interception came against Miami. If you include his punt return TD versus Duke, Hunter has made a huge impact in three straight games.

    It's Been Over A Decade

Not only was tonight's win over Virginia Tech a dramatic victory it was also a significant one. Florida State reached 9-1 after tonight's victory for the first time since the 2000 team played for a National Championship. The last time FSU was 8-1 was 2003 but the Seminoles lost their 10th game of the year that season.

    Dent-ing The Defense

Greg Dent has played his best in two of the Seminoles' biggest games of the year. Dent set a career high for catches and receiving yards in a game versus Clemson (5-72). Tonight he registered a 41 yard grab, his fourth TD of his career and second of the season and also hauled in four passes for a new career high of 73 yards.

    First To 100

Virginia Tech receiver Corey Fuller reached 110 yards receiving in the third quarter. He is the first player to reach 100 receiving yards in a game versus FSU this year. You have to go back to Chris Givens of Wake Forest who hauled in passes for 101 yards last year. The stretch was 17 games between allowing 100 yard receivers.

    Hop At It Again

Lou Groza semifinalist Dustin Hopkins staked the Seminoles to a 3-0 lead with a 52-yard field goal on the opening drive of the game. Last game Hopkins hit a career-long 56 yard field goal. He is now 7-of-12 on his career from 50 yards or more and Hopkins is now tied for third for the most career 50 yarders among active kickers.

    Tanking The OL

Tank Carradine had a career night not only when it came to his numbers but his overall effect on the game as well. The JUCO transfer set a new career high for tackles with 11 breaking the mark he set with nine twice this season. He also registered his team-leading ninth of the season.
