His career stats so far go something like:
1/2 the play book learned, he still runs into WRs on the reg
100 mental errors
Couple of complaints from Grandpa
2, maybe 3, catches/plays any other TE couldn't make.
But he's old school
How do we know it wasn't the wr that ran into him?
I personally think O'leary will benefit greatly next year from a qb that throws a more catchable ball.
Any old school rep he had evaporated when he didn't simply pop pads with a 5'11 185lb DB
He'll never be an elite talent. Undersized TE with a wind tunnel between the ears.
It's not like he's 6'6 260. It's not like he's much faster than the LBs covering him. What so special about this guy? Never understood it.
Scalp 'Em Seminoles!!!
Jimbo has said as much
DBs will love Clint's catchable balls
In high school he was simply always open and once he caught it he'd just abuse DBs. He made plays consistently. Wind tunnel is right though
LOL at "wind tunnel."
One could be forgiven for thinking this might be true. Will Haplea and Christo pass him by next year?
I doubt it will be Trickett.
As to the wrong route, if the coaches said it then it was O' Leary's fault.
Stay out then.
Trickett > Ej
Before someone else jumps on it, Jimbo has just said that he ran a ton if wrong routes last year and when I see Oleary and Kenny shaw run into each other, personally, I know who's in the wrong. Don't need to ask.
Here come the down voters. Must be the "we won, quit complaining" crowd. Shame a message board can't be used for messaging.
I think Clint has more of a playing relationship with Nick than Nick and EJ do.
Clint has a TON of chemistry with players because he has been working with them since they were 3rd string. The QB position is much harder to work up than other positions.
This year has been great (minus NC State), but next year will be a lot of fun to watch. I am not saying we do better next year as I think there will be a drop off at FSU and I think Clemson will be crazy good next year. Yeah, Clemson should be very good next year.

I fully expect Clint Trickett to be the man in 2013 and 2014. He's the one on the head set in the huddles with Jimbo. He's sending in the signals. It's always Trickett coming into the game for EJ. He has a little starting experience already.
As much as I think Coker could be awesome, this will be Trickett's team for the next 2 years. He's got the experience and knows the playbook probably better than EJ. Seems like an AJ McCarron clone. Good game manager.
2015 will be the battle between rJr, Winston and rSr, Coker.
At throwing interceptions. No doubt
I don't see a drop at FSU at all. Our run game next year should be amazing and our edge talent national leading as well.
Defense will remain elite. Most of the guys we have to replace have been very average.
The starter next year will be Coker or Winston
You really believe that?
Jimbo would start a Fr or So with no experience over a 4th year Junior like Trickett, who has "good" but not great skills? You see how conservative Jimbo coaches... it'll be Trickett, and he'll do well.
Ej is more athlete than qb Trickett is a qb who I think will excel next yr as a starter. As far int go Ej had 24tds to 18ints until this yr as a 5th yr senior so it's about damn time he did something
Doubtful at best
The entire starting DL will be tough to replace I don't care who you are. I feel good about the interior line but DE could be a real sore spot. Jenkins, if he returns, may not be the same. Ditto for Hicks. Mario is growing up but Newberry is unimpressive. Casher is an unknown. Za'Darius Smith is a crucial get, IMO.
I think Northrup will upgrade over Vince, who I love but is limited. I don't think CJ or Rhodes make the first round grade to leave early.
Brooks has acquitted himself quite well since his rough Clemson game. I'm starting to wonder if Karlos to OLB might not be the worst idea.
Offensively, I think we lose some versatility but this may be a good thing, oddly enough. Sometimes I think we try to do many different things. One game we want EJ as a pocket passer. The next we're playing to his strengths and putting the ball in his hands. Trickett will eliminate the guesswork. We'll pound the rock with Wild and Free behind what should be a dominant line. We have every type of wideout imaginable.
I'm actually worried about replacing DHop more than anything. I've read that Aguayo has the leg, but does he have the nerve?
I'm conceding nothing next year. Not a trip to Clemson or G-ville. We could actually be better if we can shore up that DE spot.
Still think Werner comes back, and Jenkins good chance he is back as well. Edwards is starting to turn the corner
