That's where things are going to be a little interesting. Because we were so (justifiably) focused on stopping the run, Tech had some WRs wide open that their QBs missed. If Lynch can hit a few passes downfield, the FSU defense is going to have to "read and react" rather than just swarm to the line of scrimmage, and that could lead to a few sustained drives if NIU's OC calls a good game. The big question to me is whether the NIU OL will be able to hold up long enough to give Lynch time.
And that's where I think that it doesn't matter so much how the OL works. Lynch has shown this year to make many plays out of a blown play, Toledo and Kent St. had many. The OC is the permanent HC.
NIU is subsidizing the trip for our students. 150 dollars for the bus ride there and back, 2 nights in hotel in Miami, 4 meals. A number of alumni have a deal where its 300 for the flight there and back, plus the hotel and food.
The problem is - FSU's D is not KSU or Toledo... I think his big plays will be minimal at best

All student tickets are sold out. Looks like we might fill our allotment.
I think you have that first part backwards. We destroyed GT on anything they tried taking wide on us. Given their offensive style we were a little more susceptible to quick hitters up the middle. They did consistently well there (4-5 yards a pop by my recollection) but didn't really have any big plays. It was our offense that shit the bed and kept the game close.
However, I don't see us struggling to block the NIU front 7. I just can't envision a MAC school - champion or not - having the horses to control the line of scrimmage. Even if you guys play well up front, if we just play averagely on offense we should score points.
I'm sure Lynch will break free for a nice scramble or 3, but overall I have no real concerns with your offense simply because I believe we are bigger, stronger, faster and deeper.
All that said, I think it's a very interesting matchup simply for the novelty of it. NIU deserves its shot at the BCS. It qualified per the stated guidelines. If you were in any other BCS game I'd be rooting for you. But that just ain't gonna happen now.
Oh, and I think that's a nice gesture the MAC is doing. The visibility is worth whatever hit the conference will take, even though the conference will also be gaining extra BCS money for the trip, too.
