"Ward, Weinke, Winston = WINNERS"
I don't want this kid, he is a bad person and will never be a good player!! What...he is coming to FSU!?!?!? He is the best person in the world and the best prospect on the planet!!! I love this kid, he is such a fine young man!! Some on this board crack me up!
I'm very happy he's going to honor his committment. Physically, he's a Seminole, but at heart will he always be a Trojan? If so, that's hard to wrap the mind around. Under his jersey will he sport a USC tee? Strange, strange scenario.
"I never knew I had a foot until I noticed it was on your neck"
LOL so true it hurts...
There has been some kids who have made 1 stupid move (of this level), learned from it, and never made another one.
Then...there has been many more kids who have made 1 stupid move (of this level), and continued to make stupid moves.
Here's to hoping for the best, while remembering the probability is against us. Any nole fan who is fully vested emotionally at this point, and expects the stupidity to 100% end at this... is far more optimistic, than the 'reality of the world we live in' dictates that they should be.

Is this really a "stupid move?" Sounds like a kid with a lot of options on the table, and having quite a few people who are supposed to be there to help him along the way who are making a huge mess out of things. Looks like a ton of this "drama" is made by adults around him, people supposed to be role models in his life.
You've defered the fault from the kid to his support group... That's acceptable.
Don't assume he's changed his support group for the next hard decision.
Him getting away from home gives him a chance to become his own man. Will he? We'll find out.
Can we please focus our attention on the most important part of this, please?
Of course I mean rubbing USC fans' noses in it.
5-star LB Matthew Thomas tells Warchant he will attend Florida State, will report to #FSU on Saturday (free) t.co/IMsB0rUy73 #NOLES
"It's not the SEC conference vs. the ACC conference," "It's Florida State vs. Auburn." --Lamarcus Joyner
Here's to hoping he's good enough to make us all forget this ever happened. I know, I want to forget.
Personally, I believe he'll come in with a chip on his shoulder (not at us), and get major tore in like a forest fire. Won't talk a good game, but will kill everybody on the field.
No need to preach, the kid is 18 and this "stupid move" has no effect on his future. If he sat out a year and went to USC he would still have a bright future. Bryce Brown was a side show and still ended up in the NFL.
I'm fairly confident in saying that all of us are who are today in part to mistakes we've made in the future, and we're probably better off for having made most of them. Can't learn from mistakes you don't make.
Meh I read it. Those a$$ holes aren't even talking about football anymore. Their team sucks, owns an all-time 0-2 record against FSU. They got all worked up over a recruit that never signed with them and was likely recruited after the fact by their scumbag, soon-to-be-fired, never-won-a-damn-thing HC. Why even bother at this point? I mean you could've just said "your team sucks" and it woulda been enough.

I think FSU would be fine with or without M. Thomas.......BUT if this kid arrives then FSU got better the minute he steps on campus. He's a consensus 5 star for a reason!
And I can think of an endless number of examples where mistakes in judgement haunted someone for the rest of their life. And an endless number where they didn't. We should probably argue over our anecdotal evidence, until one of us wins.
/Luckily, I've already made that mistake in future and learned from it.
If, at the age of 18 you don't end up incarcerated, I think you're doing OK.
Things you can learn from delusional Trojans:
TrojanWarrior1 doing major damage control...probably has an ulcer by now. I've never seen a "CEO" or executive administrator of any company that posts as much as he does (he has claimed to be in charge of many people including lots of feeble minded FSU alums that he orders around). He's their Bushido.
Lane Kiffen (yes I will continue to misspell it because it isn't worth fixing) had absolutely no contact with Matthew Thomas or his family in all of this and is a saint.
Jimbo Fisher is a "POS" for telling MT6 that "you're our guy"...obviously they haven't heard of Klepal
We're all a waste of space over here in the Southeast...if USC alums and Californians ran things, we would be all the better for it (because they're doing such a great job of running even their own corner of the country).
