I am not being the delusional one. Getting the recruit on campus is not the most important step. Getting The SIGNATURE is.ole miss got the signatures usf didnt. Please answer who usf has signed that FSU would want?
As I said never interviewed.... are you assuming he would have passed Jimbo interview...
Yet again no ass was kicked.
Not sure how he can't be, or couldn't have been a serious target for JImbo. I think that is where you are going to find the pushback on this.
FSU needs 2 offensive position coaches right now. It's obvious the OC position isn't available and we have Sanders, Trickett, and Dawsey on staff. That means you need a TE/QB coach and you could move Sanders to either of those is you wanted to.
So we are left with 2 positions that need to fill either RB/TE/QB.
FSU just lost it's ace recruiter, it's 2nd best recruiter, and it's 3rd best recruiter too. Just to put those on paper: Craig, Coley, Gran. All of those guys at one point at least had a hand in a SoFla recruit from time to time.
Is it really that hard to follow a line of thinking that jumps to the conclusion that FSU could benefit from a recruiter who is a pretty good position coach with South Florida ties? I'm not sure how it would be, but maybe it is.
"Fisher detractors" is an interesting catch-all. It almost sounds as if he has earned the right to make his own terms, or as if he has a statue outside the stadium or something. Not sure I follow that line of thinking at all.
Jimbo Fisher has done an excellent job at remodeling a sleeping giant. He has excelled at creating infrastructure where it was severely lacking and put the ball in motion on several projects that were holding FSU back.
He may or may not be the right man for the long term job, but I think at this point it is certainly warranted to question his abilities from time to time without annointing him the King just yet.
The poster formerly known as 31-7. Understood by few, known by many, loved by all.
Great post and upvoted. I do think Jimbo has shown the ability to put together a staff however. Napier bailing for Bama was unique in the sense that Bama is, well Bama. I don't question Jimbo when it comes to finding coaches and recruiting. I feel he's earned a little leeway here and maybe Larry Scott isn't that great a coach to begin with.
Jimbo has already interviewed someone else
Calm down folks
You do realize FSU didn't recruit Senat after decommitting correct?
Not sure if this is accurate, Josh/Chris can you confirm?
Did FSU pull Senat's scholarship offer after decomitting?
I thought it was the other guy... Blain.
FSU stopped recruiting bain and senat and never really recruited calloway. Senat tried to recommit and FSU told him no. So 2 players thats all you got?
Did I say they pulled his scholarship
No I said they didn't recruit him after decommitting. It was said he had a window to get back on board, it passed and FSU moved on
Both Bain and Senat became an after thought
Ahh, maybe this is right.
Got it, see above. Devildognole spelled it out.
And you are totally right, you never said they pulled his scholarship, that was my question.

Josh, Animal and Tom made it clear that FSU was signing one DT and that was Bryant. They stopped recruiting everyone else months before NSD.

Still not seeing the source of his hype on this board. Very few people on this board knew this guy existed before Josh posted his name on here.
Is it really hard to believe that Fisher simply may not have wanted this guy on the staff and feels differently from some on this board about his coaching and recruiting abilities? This entire thread is based on the rumor that Fisher extended an offer to interview. Even if he had interviewed, who is to say he would have been offered the job? Johnson interviewed and was not offered the job.
People are simply overreacting in this thread. This thread is a result of built up frustration over our 2 losses, our coaching losses, our loss to UF, the loss of Coley to a rival, etc. It's just another avenue for people to voice their frustration over the last 3 months of FSU football.
We got to find the chatter box in this group of coaches or these guys won't make it.
Perfectly said +1
