If he really is the best overall athlete we've had in a long while, why not have him play both ways? I mean, he could primarily be a safety, but come in every now and then to play receiver/RB. Why not?
I think he would be a beast at RB but I still want him at Safety. Brooks would play a ton snaps as the nickel and back-up to Joyner. What I would like to see is giving Karlos a few snaps as a Wildcat QB, similar to what we see in some of this Junior hilights. We used Chris Thompson like this a few times but Karlos might bring something special for a few plays per game here.
Because he hasn't shown the aptitude or maturity to learn one position yet. That's video game talk.
If i'm an opposing wide receiver I want no part of a Karlos Williams/Lamarcus Joyner secondary.
Kenny Powers: "A true champion will do whatever it takes to rise above. Because surrender is death, and death is for pussies."
Sort of like Jeff Burris. Burris was a first round pick as a DB though.
I could see a situation where Brooks starts in our base defense and then drops down into the slot when we run nickel. Of course, that's all dependent on Karlos making enough progress this spring and summer to get on the field.
And he hasn't been on campus for a year yet, and some people are questioning his aptitude. Thats stupid talk.
I'm hoping to see Waisome at the nickel this year
