Saw a thread on TOS. Even though I don't have access anymore I will go lurk and see the topics from those knuckle heads. Any smoke or just the usuals claiming they have inside info? If its a way to get Los on the fiel and not decrease joyners production I'm all for it
Wouldn't shock me. He can cover man-to-man and he can tackle well in space. Those are two things Pruitt wants in his corners. Although he is 5'8" his wing span is like someone 6'1". More pressure will be put on corners with less safety help than they had last two years.

There was a poster here a few weeks ago who said he knew LJ and that he told him he would be playing corner this year. Could be situational also.
This is a move I've been posting about for months now, not because I'm an insider (which I'm not) but because to me it makes sense, at least for Joyner's pro future. He's perfect for it physically. Although it could leave us a little thin at safety. There could be more shuffling. Hunter to safety?
I'm sure someone told him he has a better future at CB and Pruitt would rather him be back at CB. I wouldn't say we would be too thin we could put hunter at safety or other players like PJ or Brutus. Plus I'm sure Pruitt has seen what Karlos can do and would like him playing center field and helping with the run he could do some serious things back there and we will have a shut down corner for a year to help him get used to it. Joyner to CB makes our defense just that much better and will help our DL have more time to get to the QB
We have plenty of talent at safety.. Los, Brooks, PJ, Ramsey maybe, Brutus, Andrews
Hmmm so starting secondary...
Joyner - CB
Darby - CB
Los - S
I like the sound of that.
I guess we'll see. It seems like an odd move from FSUs end if they're looking to replicate the Alabama defense. It also takes Waisome and Hunter off the field.
That's paper. That group is short on experience and I'm assuming Ramsey is all CB. Brutus and Andrews are complete unknowns. I do like PJ a lot though. He could be more of centerfielder than Karlos who strikes me as a box safety.
I'm not alarmed by the lack of numbers at safety. Just saying that Joyner at CB means someone (s) must step up.
We don't have lack of numbers maybe experience but i mentioned four guys with college experience IF Joyner moves, inexperience changes over time and that's what the spring and camp is for. Not to mention Hunter and Keelin Smith could play safety too.
Yea, seems like a weird move to me. Not that I think we will be hurt by it or is a bad move. I just think if it is being done its to get karlos on the field. Hunter is a stud and Waisome is was only the #1 DB in the state of Florida coming out. Not to mention Mr. Blake. That guy has some impressive measurables. But at the end if the day the move wouldn't upset me.
I've always liked him better at safety. Granted, the most playing time I saw him at CB was a true freshman. I still think safety uses his skills better. Freaky fast, great football IQ and has knocked several people out of the game.

Don't forget the 230 pound safety/RB/Center Fielder D.J. Stewart.
Give him a bat back there and our D would be lethal.
Move one of the best safeties in the country to corner because he's short.
Safety is a better showcase of his range, ball skills, instincts and hitting ability.
1. With spread offenses and pass happy teams everywhere, most DB's these days are being cross-trained to play man coverage, and are expected to be able to keep us with WR's regardless of position, Jimbo has said so himself. Stoops too. Pruitt too.
2. While Joyner has dadgone pretty good tackling skills, he is still one of our faster DB's, and can for sure cover deep, or run support or hit you so hard you fart dust.
It is not out of the realm of possibility that he gets moved to corner, AND, this would be the place he would have his best shot to play in the pros. Not at safety.
Yes, he told me he is playing corner this year.
LJ also said it was going to be a 3 corner scheme for the most part with Waisome(CB), Darby(CB), Brooks(S), Williams(S), Joyner(CB) And Hunter being in the rotation.

Move Tyler Hunter to Safety. Would give us more continuity into 2014 at both CB and S. Hunter could gain five lbs and be a damn good safety. Waisome, Darby, Joyner and then PJW would play a ton due to size.....and he's good obviously.
Can't forget Colin Blake at Corner or Safety he maybe a safety. We are loaded at Defensive Back

It's not because he's short. His wingspan, speed and physicality make him a better fit at corner.
We didn't get great safety play last year. And our CBs were inconsistent in run support. Not sure why anyone is against shuffling.
That's why you coach them up. They may be young however when you practice at game speed it helps a great deal. I trust whatever the staff does.
