FSU -->----->> The Unconquered Uprising
I always looked at this year this way:
Last year we signed a #1 rated class. We've had 2 or 3 top 10 classes in Jimbo's tenure here. This class is strictly about depth to me, and always has been. We have elite youth coming through the ranks right now in Darby, Bracy, Goldman, Northrup, Pender, etc. these guys we have committed, and those left on the board, are what makes good teams better. We have guys with starting potential, once they develop an learn the ropes, but we're building depth also. You NEED depth to contend for titles. If someone goes down with injury/suspension/whatever, you need to have the ability to plug in a guy that will provide a high level of play, and not allow the opposition the ability to exploit a hole on the field.
I worry, like others, about our O-Line depth, but we have to hope we hang on to Denson, and that he and Kirkland are a package deal, as Denson eluded to last night. Those two on the right side are going to just eat up defenders, and really should allow the run ame to flourish if developed properly. We should all be collectively praying for Tunsil's mother to see the light on his visit here, because developing him behind Erving, and eventually moving him in to start would be ideal.
At WR, if we land Stacy Coley, we have an elite playmaker, to go along with Kermit in the slot, at a position we have tons of depth at. There needs to be improvement from this unit, but with better QB play, I think you'll see them utilized properly.
As far as the secondary goes, I'm as disappointed as anyone, but we look to have what could potentially the best secondary haul in the country with guys like Patten, Tabor, and Blanding all strong possibilities in 2014. I like both Johnson and Jesus Wilson quite a bit, and they won't have to play right away in major roles, so we're okay. Holding on to Marquez White is critical here too. Pray for an injury free year from our secondary
So, to sum up this novel, we'll be okay. It's not a year where we look to have a ton of elite guys, but what it is, is a year where we added depth to our squad, which should produce more competition in spring and fall camps, as well a practice throughout the year. That will push EVERYONE to improve and be better, and the rest will fall into place.
I'm excited to get the 2014 cycle underway (though it already is) officially. We're going to be at the top again.

If we do not get Tunsil and Kirkland Trickett needs to be fired -by the BOt's if necessary. Jimbo may not want ot be the heavy regarding Trickett. Hell, give Spetman something to do. We need 7 and will have gotten 3. Yikes. FWIW, I think we get kirkland or we would see a lot more scrambling regarding ol recruits. Maybe having to take a flyer on gray. As to everyone else, one good probably 7-10 class will not hurt. We will be 1-2 in 2014. so 6,1,2,8(ish) 1 or 2. That is more than enough talent to get to and play for mnc's.
Lack of talent is not the issue at FSU.
