Anyone have an idea of what he said to draw the flag? It was the play after Newberry got flagged for roughing the passer and Darby went down. I saw a flag get thrown at the sideline and Waisome was jumping around and looked like he was celebrating.
Anyone who watched on TV catch anything?
Thing it had to do with Darby's injury. I think he felt it was a cheap shot or a hold.
Darby got horse collared badly, from what I read
He called over to talk to an official. Said something and turned to walk away and was still saying something. Guess the official didn't like what he had to say but seemed very bush league.
Watch the game Monday night and you will see Brian and Nick eating the ref's ears off so I don't what Jimbo did that would warrant such a penalty.
He was talking to the referee after Darby got hurt. I think the ref said something because Jimbo got in his face and told him to call the effing game.
He was pissed Darby got horsecollarded with no flag and we were flagged for roughing the passer.
Weren't we up like 31-10? I wish Jimbo would develop more into a emotionally mature HC but I still see a guy who cant control his temper/emotions.... This includes hiring an OC he trusts so he can focus 100% on being a HC. JMO

Completely irrelevant. Jimbo was 100% right to do what he did in that situation.
One of our players got hurt from an illegal play that didn't get called. Refs deserved to get their assess chewed.
Gotta know at what point to shut your yapper, Jimbo has difficulty with this independently of the unsportsman like call. He bickers too much.
Coaches standing up for their players brings a team together. 15 yards is worth it. Like in the 90's when our defense would always have personal foul penalties with vicious hits. It sends a message. Has nothing to do with maturity. it has to do with setting a tone and an attitude for the team.
"A Seminole warrior killed in battle is a legend remembered. A Gator lost in battle becomes a pair of boots and a belt. "
As a coach myself, the only time I lose my temper with officials is when my players did get or are in a position to get hurt and a ref is not handling it. I was actually pleased that Jimbo voiced his displeasure
I disagree. He was protecting his players which i am behind 100%. He bickers about other stuff but this is the only time I remember him being flagged for it

I thought it was the right thing to do...was very surprised to see the flag thrown....and also the one on 22
It goes a long way with players when the coach has your back, especially when inhuries come into play. If we were uo 100-0 and were taking hits, horse collars, chop blocks, whatever, part of the coaches job is to protect the health of his players. Was it the right thing to do? Absolutely. Did it deserve 15 yards, HELL NO!
I see Jimbo being no different than any other coach. Charlie Strong seemed to be doing the exact same thing last night. Getting after his players after mistakes and such, but people say Jimbo is bickering when he does it.
I agree that Jimbo did the right thing to protect his player. That is what coaches are suppose to do. I would have been pissed if Jimbo did NOTHING.
It absolutely was the right thing to do. It sends a message to your players that your coach has your back. Sorry, you are 100% wrong on this.
I like that we have a coach that stands up for his players in the 4th quarter even when the game is over.
He's done it many times.
Part of it is what Jimbo looks when doing it. He has a winny, kind of pleading look. I think it is because he is asking why did you throw it there or why did you check to that play kind of a thing. He needs to develop a more of a this is what I said to do now do it look--especially for game day.
Jimbo said call the game ref said something back, jimbo said well call the game.... Back and forth until the ref threw a flag. I'm sure there were some other insults in there. the ref was just butt hurt IMO
Interesting... Jeff Cameron just made the same argument that I did above. Remember, I was discussing Jimbo's sideline demeanor *independently* of the unsportsmanlike penalty. Cameron said that he wished that Jimbo would stop blowing up on the sidelines over every tiny mistake on the sidelines and start acting like a HC instead of a coordinator. The first step is to hire an OC. After you do that you start focusing on the big picture of the game & program, rather than each tiny mistake by the O.
I've said it elsewhere, although we *need* to hire a DC this offseason, the O has been the weaker side of the ball for 2 years straight and so a new OC is more important. I hope Jimbo shows the proper development/evolution as a HC and does so ASAP--and given the need for a DC this offseason, the 2013-2014 offseason is when the OC needs to be hired.
