Jeff Luc is set to get back on the field at Cincinnati.
After sitting out the 2012 season due to NCAA transfer rules, Jeff Luc has returned to the practice field with a purpose, and that purpose is to earn a starting job with the Bearcats’ defense. After four of fifteen spring practice sessions, the one-time Florida State player is on track to reach his goal, and Bearcat Lair spoke to the redshirt junior-to-be after Wednesday’s practice to get the latest on his progress.

“That was my first time away from football. It was extremely difficult, but at the same time, it humbled me. I was actually learning the game of football, which I didn’t at Florida State, and that’s also what kept me from playing there as well. My knowledge and IQ for the game has gotten a lot better.”
Well there you go!
Great for him - 4.0 and starting this year
Happy to hear it
Good for him.
Three W's In My Life: Ward, Weinke, and Winston
Arthur Brown could not learn the play book or was not ready at Miami...he went to Kansas State and is potentially a 1st round pick in some mock drafts. Jeff can play...he just needs to the chance to showcase his talent. He had a very good spring game last year before taking off.
who would he play over last year or this year at fsu? i dont think anybody is knocking the kid, but he simply earn a job here with significant time
Luc looked great in the Spring Game last year. He appeared that he was finally starting to get it. I can see him playing on Sundays in a couple years.
I thought he looked like he was starting to get it too. I was really hoping the staff and team would be able to convince him to stay. Such is life I guess.
CJ7 didn't set the world on fire moving from Sam to Will. Jones should have stayed at Sam where he flourished and Stoops should have started Luc at Will. Our linebacker play overall was average...
I think he may not have been in the best D system at FSU to highlight his skill set. He strikes me as the type of player that reaches his highest use in a system like Pruit's instead of Stoops'. Let the kid just blow things up.
However it's hard to completely argue with him about learning the game. Our LBs have not been setting the world on fire under Hudson, and Hudson got let go.

Good luck to him there. I thought he looked great in the spring game last year, and i was sad to see him go. Wish he would have stuck it out one more, but to each his own. He was always said to be more of a body than anything so, i guess we won't know until we see what he does at Cincy.
