I was a massive ESS backer for months, lept off that bandwagon two weeks ago.---
I am so upset about this...I have no idea what I am going to do with myself.Off to the bar to get wasted now.
Sorry the truth hurts for some of you guys. Once this set of coaches leaves....sure you will rip them as well.
So now Coley is responsible for FSU losing to Miami and chances at the National Title....too much...Unreal..Bunch of BS people on this site...There is not a single person who would have not done the same thing...and if you say otherwise your full of S**T. Yeah, like to see any clown on this site turn down 500k a year, guaranteed for three years....you would not care if it was Miami, UF or Edward Waters in Jacksonville....there is no a soul on this board who would not run and take the job....
Don't let them get to you, I told these same clowns that it was 100% logical for him to take it, prior to it ever happening... you should have heard what they said about me...
No real man will play second fiddle to someone who they believe they are more/equally competent than...time will reveal who is right... as this could just as easily cost Jimbo his job, and boost Coley into a top level job down the line.... depending on how it all plays out.
Making judgements to this, prior to it playing out, is extremely shortsighted.

Easier to get your point across without calling people names. It must bother you some or you wouldn't have said it didn't bother you. If it didn't you would have just ignored the comment.
Nobody ever said he was responsible for anything, how about you actually read what people are posting, instead of doing your best Baghdad bob impersonation?
You are looking ridiculous, and FYI I spoke to several coaches at the FCS level (where I work) and not a one was supportive of your boy, for the exact reasons I posted. In fact the day after this happened I walking into the football offices at one school in SC and the coaches there knowing where I went to school were basically like "Oh S**T!".
Like I said he leaves the day after NSD for Miami or wherever, it is "Good Luck", but leaving when he did, and you sitting here trying to either convince us or yourself he wasn't trying to turn recruits to his new gig, is the pure definition of naive.
BTW I am sure Coley is a "Good" guy...that has nothing to do with anything.
Oh and my net worth is 45 billion dollars, I have perfect credit, and I am currently tapping 7 Maxim models (on the weekends all 7 at once), so yeah I would turn down the 500k.
What I want to know is...
At some point during the day when Coley was considering his options, a "moderator" on this site confirmed that Jimbo had countered and offered Coley the ability to calls play here at FSU.
I've never read anything mentioning or confirming this outside of this site... leading me to believe that either the moderator was incorrect with the details implied in the short statement which they made... OR... Coley had an equal option on the table, and just chose to abandon us.
What was the details behind this "offer", if it existed? He could take over calling plays in 5 years? 3-years? This year?

Noles247 has the inside scoop on the latest offseason coaching news. Will James Coley bolt for Miami? Read on for the latest.
I believe it was Sal that said that he was a great coach when he had great players to coach.
That is the real truth. So go forward 5 years. Who is likely to have the most talent to coach, FSU or Miami?
What is the most likely outcome for Miami over the next 5 years? [if you think there will be no sanctions you are crazy]. The most likely outcome is that future employers will look at a coach that was not thought to be ready to call plays at FSU, and has not had great offenses at Miami.
Now what if he stayed at FSU, in a couple of years he would have been the real OC, calling plays for Winston or Coker, with the cupboard full of skill players, a great defense to help out the offense, and be thought of as the next big assistant coach to get that HC job. A little patience would have worked wonders for him.
Only time will tell, and I get that the coaching profession is a "want now" profession.
By the way, if the Miami offensive coordinator position was such a great job, why did they settle for someone who had called plays unsuccessfully for 1 year at FIU? Answer: because that is all they could get.
I remember this...believe it was said that CJF was matching the money, and giving him play calling duties. Not sure if true or not.
Regardless, my only issue with Coley leaving was the timing. Understand that you want to advance your career, not be a puppet, etc, etc. But to jump ship less than 2 weeks before NSD and go to one of your top 2 biggest rivals just speaks volumes to me. Nuff said.
I would not have done to my alma mater what Coley did to his. How many times in modern college football has a coach left one of UF, FSU, or Miami to leave directly to the other? It is very rare that it happens if it ever has because it is a bull shit move. Fish will defend Coley to the death because he has a close relationship with him, but he is dead wrong.
Guys, don't make this personal.
Coley is gone, lets all move on.
