Lol after 5 years of clowning Miami now its all about the U on twitter.. What a joke
Coaches love whoever signs their checks.
Chris Nee of 247Sports.com. You can follow me on twitter @CNee247.
He's a moron.
"Some people think football is a matter of life and death, I assure you, it is much more serious than that."
This was my first thought
Honestly tho, what's he going to say? I still love FSU but I was tired of being a puppet
If you were signing my checks I still wouldn't like you.
The best thing to do is constantly hit him back with the tweets he made about FSU when he was here. I saw a couple Noles have done that already, all 16 Cane fans are flipping out about it. It's comic gold. If he's here, Peej has done a good job at trolling them. This one dude @thatcanezo is the urban DBC.
What is wrong with that? I strongly disliked FSU until I attended FSU. I grew up in Miami and was a Cane fan. Now I can't stand Miami.
I tweeted him "you either run with the Spear or you running from it"

Head coach in waiting?!?!?!?! AHHH hahahahahaha
Golden is 43.
They never explained how long he would be waiting.
Apparently his wife wears the pants and tells him what, when, where, why, how and how fast to do everything.
Oh, and he's now nothing more than my enemy. To be squashed like a bug on the field.

I think he made a good career move, but I hate his guts for screwing us that close to NSD for a rival. It's nice for the um game to have another story line to it also. Make no mistake about it, um is going to be a tough game this year regardless if the refs screw us.
Yes, he did. There were some good reasons for him to make the move, but I agree, his timing sucked and was nothing other than selfish. I've since heard this was planned to create as much strife for our program as possible, and was deliberate as to the announcement. What his vendetta was, perhaps we'll never know. Of course we can speculate, and probably come close to the mark. However, there are those close to our program who are less than convinced he was above board with his defection. Do I wish him ill? You bet I do! On the field anyway. I also hope Miami gets hit with sanctions just short of the death penalty.
Also, we disrespect their team with impunity at our peril. Recent record against them notwithstanding, we ignore their team speed, the long-term rivalry, and natural dislike of each other at our peril. Too many times we've played them and gone in with swagger, and had our heads handed to us.
I think the players will not disrespect their team and that is all that matters. They will be prepared for Miami.
Miami will always be ready for us.
As to Coley, as to whether it was a good career move or not will be determined in the future. If their offense sputters and they get hit by major sanctions diluting their talent pool, it might have been a poor career move, at least initially.
I trust Jimbo's judgement at this time that he was not ready to call plays. Sometimes young coaches get impatient. We shall see if this is one of those times. I think Pruitt has some plans for our defense that will test him mightily!
Nashnole, I think defensively that is their issue; lack of overall team speed especially at the linebacker position. Their defensive line is not good either and their defensive backfield is inexperienced if my memory serves me well. Offensively, they will be fast and good.
I'm not much for conspiracy theories. I just don't think he was deviously working behind the scenes to screw Jimbo and FSU. IMO, he was offered the job after um's OC left, which I'm not aware of the date. Now it's not like Coley has the best or any real resume calling plays at the D1 level, so I could see golden saying either you come now or I'm going to offer the position to somebody else. At the end of the day I think it only cost us Stacy Coley right?
I'm also of the opinion that because Jimbo has named himself the OC that our offense could be better. With no guy even in title the OC, the responsibilities of O game prep during the week at practices and film room should all fall on Jimbo. I think that was the disconnect in 12 with our O. Coley did the prep, Jimbo did the play calling. It didn't work well against teams with good defenses. Now Jimbo has all that pressure squarely on him and nobody to share the blame with anyway you slice it.
Some of you are going to interpret this as an attack on Jimbo, but it's really not. It's just a deficiency in our O and how the current changes could help us. Now if one coach does all the prep and Jimbo still calls the plays, the definition of insanity comes to mind.
Coley was offered the cowboys running back job as well as the Oc for kentucky. He turned both down. He had no intentions on leaving t that point. He is good friends with Mario who recommended to golden coley after fisch left. He went back to Jimbo and explanned what he was offered. When the play calling duties were not part of the deal he left. Miami also guaranteed 1.5 million which Fsu did not. Nothing but a smart busIness decision.
Agreed. All that said, over many years I've seen this series turn upside down on us too many times to not be wary of what can go south on us. The ACC refs purportedly were read the riot act last year and toward the end of our season, appeared to call a more equitable contest. That's not to say this dynamic will continue. There are myriad games, where the total penalties read:
FSU - 13 flags for 134 yards, many of them majors and drive killing or extending depending on who has the ball - certainly not in our favor. Did anyone ever keep count of how many times the Germanator was tackled at the LOS and nothing called?
Opponent - 4 flags for 35 yards, all at the end of the game when the contest had been decided.
Miami appears to be weak. Appears.
As I respect your knowledge and connections, I'll defer - somewhat, although I HAVE heard from several directions, he ended up wanting to hurt us with his timing - which IMO he certainly did, or tried to. I'm curious as to how you feel about the time of his announcement relative to NSD, and what YOU may have heard behind the scenes regarding our staff's and player's reaction to this.
