leaving Marshall to join WVU staff, good Pickup for them.I think schools like WVU,UL,USF and a few others are going to be factors in SFLorida.......any info or thoughts on this MUCKNOLE?
The SFla recruiter subject has been beat to death. All this topic will do is cause the same argument to happen again for the 5th time.
I'll stick with Tim Brewster.
Christo omnino nihil praeponere
Let's not kid ourselves, WVU will not land kids that are being aggressively pursued by the Big 3 or the SEC. This guy has only coached in West Virginia. I am sure he's a personable guy and a quality coach, but there is probably a reason for that.

Let's not kid ourselves, WVU will not land kids that are being aggressively pursued by the Big 3 or the SEC. ---Ivan McCartney, Eugene Smith say hello. West Virginia can come down and recruit and land kids that the Big 3 have offered. Done it before and will do it again. Any kids who have any issues with grades or just want to get out of Florida will give West Virginia a seriously look. Also Noel Devine also disagrees.
You named exceptions to the standard. But you are right, WVU will land recruits that have grade issues, who are, like I said, guys that are typically not recruited by the Big 3 or the SEC. I'm sure he's a find coach and a solid recruiter, but lets not overhype his worth. He's been a coach for 6 years and remained at WVU or Marshall for everyone of those years. If he was a "hot shot" coach or recruiter, he would be at one of the Big 3 or in the SEC.
Noel Devine was pushed away from FSU by Deion. The other major players in-state and in the southeast stood clear of him for personal reasons.
Geno Smith and Ivan McCartney went to WVU simply because of the Miramar connection.
My point is that the arrow is pointing up for schools like WVU,USF and UL because of new conference moves and staff hires....and 80% of FSU fans would have been glad to have Seider hired at FSU,depending on depth charts at certain positions at the Big3 and SEC some kids will take a look...if Geno Smith and Tavon Austin go in the 1st rd of draft that will help WVU's profile.
If WVU can start admitting all the Miami kids that can't get in elsewhere, just like Marshall does, then they'll get some Miami kids. Otherwise...
Lets not kid ourselves. He's no magical recruiter. He just gives the kids he gets an alternative to JUCO.
Fans may have been happy, but that's because they're obsessed with the ever popular, "south Florida recruiter" connection. This is a guy who has only coached at his Alma Mater and Marshall. There were plenty of opening in the SEC this year and he still remained at Marshall.
Jay Graham was a much better option here.
Very flawed logic, Kum.
Coach Cogdell pushes his kids to wvu, plain and simple. It's his alma mater, he played there, and his kids always strongly consider wvu. Otherwise there would be no " south Florida connection". Devine circumstances were not the norm. I would have thought that you knew that.
