Someone on here once told, that it was a complete nightmare when NCAA baseball allowed kids to come-and-go back in the day. Apparently the NCAA reversed course on this decision because of the nightmare it created.
As many of you have pointed out already, I'm really dissapointed the NCAA hasn't just stepped in and locked the door to this... so the school isn't painted as the bad guy.
There can be a formal appeals process, for hardship transfers / LOI breaking... (IE: my mom is sick and dying, I want to play football close to her)... But changing your mind is craptastic.
I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned by Josh that "releasing" someone from their LOI does not mean that player gets to transfer with impunity. That student still is not eligible the following year even if released.
Tin hat time:think they mad about the mascot thing.
this is dirty i can just sense it.the only way i will believe that something shady did'nt go on is if espn or tos sticks a camera in lane kiffin, and mark richts face to give them a chance to tell mathew thomas you aint coming here if you leave fsu,and we're not recruiting you,and if a coach below me told you something diferrent he lied.until that happens somebody offered money, and playing time period to mathew, and his daddy!
what about the mone?you know money is involved he needs money to walk on the ncaa will deny any money, because he is giving away money/scholarship to transer that money should go to a deserving applicant that does'nt play sports.follow the money.i would make an example of mathew, and his dad we dont really need him,and we should not le him go to usc,or uga after he sits out a full year period!
The NCAA has this set of rules for a reason. They outline an appeal process. You have to have a compelling reason. By NCAA standards, Matthew doesn't.
What a circus... He is kind of proving that he belongs at USC.
