How do you guys fill? I'll be happy and excited myself its something we havent done in 7 years. I dont care if it is the ACC i'll still be happy and whomever we play in the bowl, if we win the bowl game i'll be happy with that also.
Meh. I'll take it. 12-2 is better than last year's 9-4.

"I never knew I had a foot until I noticed it was on your neck"
Happy. Have not won it in 7 years. Have not been to a BCS bowl in 7 years.
Before you can have the expectation to continually win conference championships, you have to actually do it.
12-2, ACC Champs, BCS bowl win = Successful season. Perfect season? Best possible? No. Successful, yes.
It is necessary but anti-climatic
I'll be happy, but felt cheated.
It is what it is. The life of an ACC team:
FSU will play a 6-6 team in the conference championship and a MAC team in a BCS bowl.
"Sometimes when you bring the thunder, you get lost in the storm." -Kenny Powers
Champions of this dumpster fire of a league is an absolute must, but it's basically like winning the 7th grade Spelling Bee even though we're old enough to be in 10th grade.
Getting into a BCS bowl is also a must, but we will only be getting there because the Orange Bowl and ACC contract requires it. We are not getting it based on our ranking.
12-2, ACC Champs, BCS Bowl all sound great but context matters. And we haven't done any of the 3 just yet.

We will be the smartest kid at a retarded school.
Hope we don't get stuck in no win situation bowl like that.
GO NOLES !!!
I'll take it, hasn't been done in quite some time.

We could have lost 5-games this year (close in the 4th quarter) and only lost 2 of them..(that's a plus)
Out of those 5, only 2-were ranked... (not good)
With a team that fielded 6-7 future NFL starters on defense...and 3-4 on offense (not good)
Fisher showed little to no improvement with play calling and game management (not good)
Unless Fisher makes the changes that most of us are insisting on (praying for), we are going to be in for a very sobering season next year. Many of us (as boosters) could really do ourselves a favor by coming to this conclusion now, and putting pressure on the AD.... instead of just accepting the 10-2 at face value... and waiting for the inevitable to come to fruition.
If nothing changes, the sky will be falling this time next year.

We underachieved again. We just didnt underachieve as bad. Cant remember the last time an FSU team overachieved. Maybe it has never happened.
Next year could be very challenging.
We would have to over achieve to accomplish what we did this year.
Since we tend to underachiever, well...
Lets hope for the best. We'll know soon enough how it's all going down.
Hate to say it but likely the only way this happens is if we lose this weekend.
As down as the ACC is this year, after we beat Clemson the ACC Championship was pretty a given. I will still be happy to win, but it will be anti-climatic.
^^^^This, but with that being said I hate that there is still alot of bad things that is going on with the program in what should be perceived as good season. The distance from us to the top is alot further away than we all expected, and leaves us with alot of unanswered questions.
I think when you put things into perspective, it would be a good not great accomplishment. Not many teams can over come an unexpected loss of your best offensive (Thompson), defensive (Jenkins), and special teams (Reid) players in the same season
I keep forgetting that. All those would have helped in both losses.
It's tough to admit, but I'm definitely in agreement that a difficult regression may be on the horizon in 2013 if certain changes aren't made.
However, part of me also wants to believe that we could come out of spring camp ahead in regards to both personnel and scheme on both sides of the ball.
I think limitations at the QB position, whether they be mobility with Trickett or experience with Coker/Winston will force Jimbo to adjust the play calling/game plan which should allow for better production. With improved decision making/game management at QB and even a marginal improvement from our front 5, I'd like to think we would be able to lean on the running game to be productive and win games for us in 2013. More Alabama-esque on this side of the ball.
Defensively I think if we can manage the lack of depth and rotation at DE, play upfront with improved depth at talent at DT should at the very least allow us to remain solid against the run. We'll have to manufacture more edge pressure than we have had too in the past two seasons, but I think improved play/talent at the LB spot could potentially help in this area. The secondary should be lights out with the continued development of the youngsters.
What is really concerning is our Special Teams play after witnessing the drop off in production in 2012 paired with the loss of Hopkins in the kicking game in 2013. The dynamic return game was missing with G5 being gone and Beatty is a long way from being the role player in the field position battle that Powell was in 2010 and 2011. Given how the return/kicking games affect momentum, play calling, and field position, our Special Teams were absent in 2012 with a handful of exceptions. This will need to change in 2013 if we even going to have a chance to replicate a 10-12 win season.
