Hypothetically speaking, if Jimbo starts Trickett over Winston
Are you going to respect and support his decision?
Is it going to cause you to question Fisher's judgement?
/Looking for some honest responses... Not fighting... Not "well we already know Winston has won it, so this isn't even worth a discussion"
//Yep, this thread is a trap... and will be hella-fun to revisit, if Trickett is announced as our starter.
Based on what we've seen, Jimbo wouldn't care about FSU to start anyone but Winston
Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or it may last a year. But eventually, it will subside. If i quit, however it will last forever.

I see what you're doing, you sly dog.
Nice attempt to get people frothed before the season. That way, if he starts someone else, you already have some nice discord chummed up early on in the season.

I was a Trickett fan.... Jimbo is to smart and to good of a coach to start anyone but Winston at QB. Winston is special he will bring what Johnny football did last year and maybe even more!!!
If he starts Trickett I'll know he's our best chance to win. Jimbo has a history of starting the right guy. He did it with Ponder over a Sr Weatherford and again with Ponder over 5 star EJ. That said, I'm confident Winston will be the starter.
If jimbo starts tricket he better not lose a game all season because he will lose the fsu
fan base. Lets be honest the program needs a jolt that only Winston can provide. The attendance was awful yesterday and will probably continue during football season unless something special happens. After what I saw today it needs to be Winston.
I personally think jimbo is so conservative and he thinks Clint is the safe pick. I think if he goes that route it will get him fired.
This is my feeling on the subject 100%.
Well, that's a silly statement obviously coming from a previous bias. Fisher benched a 3 year starter in favor of a 3 star backup in his first year here.
His track record picking starting QBs is impeccable.
It's good to see the expectations are being kept in check. It seems highly probable that he'll play better than the first ever RS Fr Heisman winner.
I hope Winston is great as well, but God help us if he doesn't start - or, worse, if he does start and doesn't do well. I think I'll have to cancel my subscription during the season.
As a fanbase, the fans on this board anyway, we sure are all-in. I hope it turns out to be the right bet.
So if Clint starts and FSU exceeds expectations, the program will still need a jolt?
Sorry, but I disgaree with your entire post. Attendance sucked because half the roster was out.
Who starts is meaningless. It's obvious that Winston is as good as advertised, and it would take a miracle to keep him off the field, where he will either erase all doubts, or confirm Jimbo's decision.
Nicely set up by the OP to go on an anti-Jimbo rant when he starts Clint. Nothing like creating your own set of references.

You have to compare growth/development curves. For Trickett to start he needed to be well ahead of Winston and Coker on April 13th in order to remain ahead of them going into September. Winston is already better and is going to hit the NOS this summer when he just works on football. Remember that Jimbo has consistently mentioned that teammates have to rally around a QB. He has mentioned that in some ways he will know who the starter is based on who the team gravitates towards. If you gave the whole team honesty pills today and asked them who they want to lead them it would be a landslide and I think it gets even more close to unanimous by September 1st.
Let`s assume for a minute that Winston`s performance yesterday relative to the other QBs is indicative of the true talent differential between them. what effect does Clint being Rick`s son have on Jimbo`s decision? Would Jimbo start a less talented player due to family ties?
You think fans and boosters will not be pissed if he starts Clint and loses a game? After what everyone watched Saturday you will not convince me or most of the fans Winston is the QB.
Not trusting jimbo yes that is a personal bias because I have seen his track record with offenses and I personally think he calls a crappy game. When he decided to throw the team under the bus and take no responsibility from the NC State loss was my turning point in thinking he doesn't have it as a head coach. That's my personal opinion you might think he's the next Nick Saban that's why it's a message board so we can all agree to disagree.
Ild like to believe my question is a silly one, but I think deep down it`s something that has crossed all of our minds and we`ve all worried about,at least to some degree.
Okay. Deep breath.
1) Our fans and boosters will pitch a GD fit if we lose and he starts Clint OR ANY OTHER QB.
2) You have seen his track record of getting a HC job because of his offensive prowess. Our offenses under Jimbo have literally (opponent adjusted) taken off compared to where we were previously and last year's squad broke records. You think he calls a crappy game because you literally have no idea how to tell the difference and fans of about 119 division one programs think their offensive coordinator calls a crappy game.
3) Jimbo has consistently taken the responsibility for losses in the past (and even did so a few days after NC state). If you think he "doesn't have it" as a coach that has brought back 10 win seasons and ACC championships and BCS bowl games, then you should stick to watching Jersey Shore or Honey Boo Boo, because there is no helping you. Maybe he'll be a big success and maybe he won't, but it won't matter to fans that are never happy anyway.
Agree to disagree.
