I know you will hate me for this, greek.
But I will actually be KIND OF relieved if he leaves. To me, he's another Ron Zook. I don't know how long you have been following college football in Florida, but Zook was a recruiting juggernaut at UF....but didn't have ideal results on the field, and lost to inferior opponents regularly every season he was there.
I think his ceiling as a HC is much higher if he gives up play calling 100% to a legitimate offensive coordinator. BUT as it stands right now, I think Jimbo is as good as he's going to get as HC, and his play calling/game management will continue to bite him in the ass, as well as give us all gray hairs way to soon in life.
Sorry for the unpopular post. Just speaking how I feel.

All I wanted to do was lead the group in singing a Christmas Carol dontcherknow. As the season's change, so do Father Nature and I know that you know that I know that you know it too!
For me, Trick Daddio has made lemonade out of some fairly young and picked before their time - Lemons.
Everybody Sing! Trini Lopez haz it right.
Lemon Tree, very pretty,
And the Lemon Flower is sweet,
But the fruit of the poor lemon,
is impossible to eat!
And block two fat dudes with only one
mass personage, and a neophyte at that!
I prefer he stays, but I won't be overly concerned if he left. I don't think he's as bad a coach as Zook, but he has his limitations.
Bush, I think that post is becoming less "unpopular" as time goes on.
As I said above, I believe he can be very successful as our head guy, but not as HC, OC, and QB coach all at once.
Hope he has plans, just in case.
LOL. Take your fookin' meds.
Our biggest hire ATM is an AD, until that happens I don't see any changes that need to be made.
Bud Elliiott stated well on his podcast re: Jimbo as HC:
100% the right guy to transition from Bowden. Knew the internal issues within the program, had an excellent plan to get past them, build facilities, bring in talent, etc. He modernized the program.
Has the potential to be one of the best coaches in CFB - a truly elite recruiter, a top offensive mind, an eye for coaching talent. Knows what it takes organizationally.
Needs work in some areas. If it doesn't improve, fine, time to look for a coach.
But Randy Spetman is not the man that needs to be hiring a head coach for a top 8-12 type destination job.
Sounds like someone is pushing for something to be done.
I believe Jimbo himself recognizes this hard truth as well. He may or may not be happy about it, but parse his recent words.
Marshall, you have PM mail btw.
I don't know if you can hear me, Nash, but I'm singing along!
The Future is Now.
Nah. I don't hate you or your post.
Some changes and adjustments are good.
Wholesale changes are basically starting over.
I object to the term that Jimbo is a fantastic offensive mind. There's a reason why LSU fans weren't sad to see him go, we saw it this year. Sure we put up huge numbers, against some of the worst defenses in D-1 football. But against teams with a pulse of a defense (VT, UF, NCST) you saw what happened..
I think this is the growing sentiment. Can Jimbo recognize his faults and adjust for the greater good of the program, not to mention his job? I sure hope so. I think he can be elite. He recruits like a beast, assembles fantastic recruiters, finds diamonds in the rough like Bjoern and Devonta, has a great grasp of the big picture, ect. But man, you can't do it all yourself. And by trying to he cost us, in my opinion, a national title shot.
The one thing that won't change is we have a ton of talent stockpiled now, I'm not overly concerned. I share bushidos sentiment for the most part - I feel JF could be one of the best in college football if he will give up OC duties.
Like Greek said, some changes are in order, no reason to panic though our players are still great and will continue to be great
FSU -->----->> The Unconquered Uprising
Jimbo can be great if he hands over play calling. I personally don't see anything great about his offensive play calling and it cost us a game this year. With the horses we have on the offense, we should be undefeated. The only reason we we sit with the record we have is because our defense showing up on a consistent basis. We really can't say the same for Jimbos offense.
Don't sweat the coaching turn over, it's a good thing, it shows Jimbo gets coaches head coaching gigs. It may hurt us this year with recruiting, but I can guarantee Jimbo has an ace up his sleeve. I think he gets an OC that handles play calling and a DC the brings an aggressive game plan. Who knows we might be surprised by the names and it may even boost our recruiting. I think Jimbo knows what he's doing here.
I understand what Bushido is saying and agree with the sentiment, but I think comparing him to Zook at this point is a bit extreme.
Also wanted to remind everybody this thread was supposed to be about what if Gran left. Bye bye Sony Michel, Alex Collins, etc... chicken littles will reign once again.
